Aldi, Lidl, woolworths, CDS/The Range. Instant coffee. Fizzy strawberry laces. Second hand clothes.

all good!

2nervesleft · 24/01/2007 14:21

I love Primark and Galaxy Ripples too.

I also love my £8 handbag from New Look and wouldn't consider paying £1,000 for a handbag even if I could afford it!
Tis the price of a family holiday no?

i go to butlins.

Lazycow · 24/01/2007 14:28

I see a visit to Woolworths in my lunch hours as a treat - just looking at all the stuff you can buy, gadgets, toys, cds etc.

It's a mecca to crap consumerism. I nearly always end up buying something small that I think 'ohh that looks good - I never knew I needed that' - Duh there is a reason I didn't know I needed it, it's because I DON'T - Doesn't stop me buying it though

Madness I know but now I can't eat chocolate (on a diet) I'm scraping the barrel for my treats

LadyOfTheFlowers · 24/01/2007 14:28

ds1 eats grapes in the supermarket- it keeps him quiet.
i love carboots & charity shops- even if i am dying, i have to go snaffle a bargain.
i shop at tescos and i'm proud.
i use baby jars.
i wear chucks/converse boots/daps and birkies in summer.
i answer the door to postie in my dressing gown- damn, sometimes i wear it all day.

have i revealed too much? coz theres more! lol

themoon66 · 24/01/2007 14:35

Only drink Co-op 99 tea.
Buy hovis sliced.
Watch Jeremy Kyle occasionally in case anyone I know turns up on it (happened once).
Buy frozen pizza.
Buy second hand clothes.
Am the queen of TKMaxx shopping.

bundle · 24/01/2007 14:36

I've recently started going to Lidl

2nervesleft · 24/01/2007 14:36

The funny thing is a lot of the so called poncey stuf is normal to me. I would never lay a table with mismatched cutlery, I don't own mismatched cutlery. It is cheap enough in Ikea fgs.

themoon66 · 24/01/2007 14:38

Bundle... don't be embarassed about Lidl shopping... it's quality gear in there man!

expatinscotland · 24/01/2007 14:38

There's no Primark near Edinburgh.

I will drink any plonk going. In fact, real wine afficianados will, because you'd be amazed at the discoveries you can make with an open mind toward wine .

I don't like to patronise any supermarket because I feel they have killed the farming industry, and this will come home to roost in the most disastrous of ways soon enough.

But I do buy often from charity shops.

Why not?

SecondhandRose · 24/01/2007 14:39

I thought a ponce was a paedophile, or is that a nonce?

CAMy · 24/01/2007 14:43

I think a ponce lives off immoral earnings, no?

eemie · 24/01/2007 14:45

Feel I've missed something here...which is the ponce thread?

Millionaire's wife in our NCT group (used to buy her dd cashmere woolies when they were 3 months old) often asked me where I got some pretty garment for dd. Answer was usually Woolworths or charity shop. And our house would be empty without Ikea.

bundle · 24/01/2007 14:46

themoon66, it's hard to find the unprocessed stuff though...
