I'm quite revolted. She sounds horrid and grasping, but the ex-boyfriend is pathetic. What kind of person thinks it is acceptable, much less desirable, to play out their private lives in public.

I can't help feeling he wanted his 5 minutes of fame, no matter how it came about.

EdieMcredie · 08/01/2007 15:18

Very cruel. What she did was clearly very wrong but that is very very cruel. People make mistakes...

If a man does the same thing, say, give a married woman oral sex when he's in a relationship, is he a slut, too?

Just asking.

Man/woman same thing.

Plibble · 08/01/2007 15:23

Oh Expat- if a man does it then he is just fulfilling his manly destiny of course. He would have a different radio programme where the presenters applaud his vigour and vim.

Plibble · 08/01/2007 15:26

I also have a problem with the presenter calling her a "dirty little tart". He could have gone for "unfaithful", "liar" or "cheat", but instead went for something demeaning and vitriolic. What a nasty chap.

I'm shocked. What shocks me most I think is that she was obviously stunned and speechless and isn't really given the chance to reply.

I know a man who was a slut. He is married - and now has a child. Haven't heard from him in a while so not sure whether he has calmed down a bit having become a dad but marriage didn't stop him. Or perhaps it did and he just had some image thing going.

LOL batters.

Back to slut. So if she's in a relationship and so is he, then she's a slut.

So was Princess Diana a slut (because she was married)?

Or was she not one because the other bloke wasn't?

Was Rebecca Loos a slut because the bloke was married (even though she wasn't)?

Is there a clear definition?

Caligula · 08/01/2007 15:46

Agree with Plibble. The moron who dumped her had a right to be angry. What was driving the presenter's vitriol? Sheer mysogyny? Or the need to keep the baying audience agog?

Bring back the guillotine, then we can all go with our knitting.

airy · 08/01/2007 15:52

Just to clear up the confusion

Slut:
?noun
1.a dirty, slovenly woman.
2.an immoral or dissolute woman; prostitute.

So now we all know, lol

SoupDragon · 08/01/2007 15:54

I think it was utterly appalling to do that on a radio show.

DumbledoresGirl · 08/01/2007 15:55

If the situation were reversed and it had been a man who had given a married woman cunnilingus in the toilets, no he would not be a slut. Slut, I think, implies a woman. However, his behaviour would be just as reprehensible.

I am on no-one's side. I think she did wrong to do what she did, her boyfriend was spineless not to dump her himself, and the radio presenter should be ashamed of himself for his actions too.

Caligula · 08/01/2007 15:56

LOL at the definitions.

I love the word dissolute. It sounds such fun.

OrmIrian · 08/01/2007 16:12

Wonder if she got promotion?

Would that make her ambitious rather than just a slut (btw I hate that word). '

HappyDaddy · 08/01/2007 16:13

He was clearly angry and hurt. I'm sure if the roles had been reversed, there'd be a chorus of "he had it coming, the cheating bastard".

The dj obviously gets paid to be controversial too.

lou33 · 08/01/2007 16:14

he'd be a man whore not a slut, wouldnt he?

i like the word slut btw, i wouldnt be offended being called it, but maybe i am odd

LOL at manwhore.

Is that the official term?

I wouldn't care if someone called me a slut, but I think sadly I'm a retired slut. Or perhaps, taking a sabbatical slut.

Caligula · 08/01/2007 16:18

I'm not sure either HD. Probably there'd be a chorus of "what a stupid slut, fancy telling everyone about it."
