I'm a bit mixed about W&P tbh. It's described as the unfilmable epic, and although it's beautiful and lavish, and they've had a bloody good crack at it, it does feel to me a bit like it flits from one beautiful, lavish set piece to the next without a great deal of depth given to the story or development of most of the characters and that frustrates me. But, it is beautiful and lavish and contains the beautiful and lavish and, as always, scene stealing MrB and I am very much looking forward to the Dolokhov's intriguing headgear on Saturday.

I'm also praying that Andrew Davies, in a bid to sex up the show, included the often excluded from translations scene, where Dolokhov visits a Turkish bath and does all sorts of roody things with his masseuse, using his turban....
