Amanda - so please you got the dress!

It looks so lovely - and a size 10 too!!!

Don't fret about how you will look in the dress - men get bored with the lettuce leaf thing I think - so have a nice lunch together and a couple of glasses of wine to relax you both! A little bit of pre-wedding 'fun' will make sure you outglow everyone else as well and help burn off lunch!

Where is the wedding and are you staying there overnight! I'm thinking of coming under cover and having a look to see how handsome a couple you make

oooooh amanda, that dress is divine! great link soapy

andaSOAPBOXinapeartree · 26/12/2006 20:38

Mmmm- so would this be a law firm you work for - LOL

If he is a regular in London, he will have several cab nos at his disposal for late night events- or will pre book a car!

Safe to assume I think, that he has things under control

It sounds so lovely - I really do hope that you have the most wonderful time!

Have you a wrap or something to wear over the dress for the journey there and home? I have the most beautiful hand made black velvet wrap that you would be most welcome to borrow if you wish

And shoes - what are you planning on? Something black with the slightest hint of sparkle on them would look fab with that dress????

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 26/12/2006 20:38

Well if you can't get a cab don't worry Amanda1... the Night Bus is free all night! lol

Mmmm - nice shoes - the dress is so striking I hadn't noticed them

Bag?

Tubes do run late on NYE - is Ken doing fireworks this year on the Thames - you might just hit lucky and manage to fit those in after the wedding

Yes - small clutch would be great

I don't blame you for being a big kid - dressing up is learned at a very young age - and we don't get enough opportunities to do it as adults! Make the most of it

Twohootsunderthemistletoe · 26/12/2006 21:22

Amanda - just read all this thread and it's fab! Sounds just like a fairy tale! Hope you enjoy the wedding and the afters!!!

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 26/12/2006 21:24

Definitely don't show him the dress - much more exciting all round to wait!

Sobernoel · 27/12/2006 08:05

Hmm. I think you should not talk about the dress if he doesn't, but show it to him if he asks. Hiding it from him until the day, exciting though that is, will give him a subliminal message that one day you want to marry him. As you say, men are simple creatures. He's looking for a fun relationship atm, not another marriage (yet).

Sorry if that makes me a wet blanket, I just don't want us all to get carried away and forget that this is RL, really. Definitely play with him and tease him all you like - but he did pay for the dress and although he probably will be happy to wait until he sees it on with everything else, just let that be his choice.

yULeYSEES · 27/12/2006 08:20

Agree with sobernoel, best to be a wee bit cool but maybe that's just me?

I can't see the link to your dress Amanda?

sotheycalledmeparapapillon · 27/12/2006 08:29

I could not see the link either, unless its the one down the bottom - but that was Friday night dress I think???

Have a light meal at 4.30 to keep your tummy from growling until 9am. Grab a sandwich, or make one to eat later on.

Have a lovely time tonight

wickedwinterwitch · 27/12/2006 09:58

How romantic, a black tie NYE wedding in London, have a fab time. Agree with Sobernoel about the dress, you don't want to scare the poor man off! (Oi Sobernoel, please tell us more about celery and dropping dress sizes, on another thread if you can, TIA)

DeepPannCrispandEven · 27/12/2006 10:47

gosh, he will love your house!

hinemoa · 27/12/2006 10:58

Nothing wrong with lentils!

The dress is v. sexy and all the better for revealing on your body rather than on the hanger tonight Keep him suspense!
