I post this every time one of these threads comes up and I'll do it again cos it's really the best IMO.

Somewhere in a primary school in Glasgow there is:

VERSACE MCLATCHIE

Charleesawmummykissingsanta · 17/12/2006 17:14

Furball · 17/12/2006 17:23

I love dollie blossom - what a cute name.

Stockingsofdinosaurs · 17/12/2006 17:55

Versace Mclatchie from Donaldson's Dairy, yeah?

PartridgeinaRustyBearTree · 17/12/2006 18:09

I got the Jenna Taylor thing Sheraz - but how come you're telling me off for talking about panties at this time of day, but you're allowed to talk about genitalia????

I have friends called and who have called their children the following:

Hepzibah Japonica
Phinnibus
Elfin
Merlin
Cami-Ocean
Guinivere Nigella
Asia (pronounced ass-ee-yah)
Silas (great name but with surname of Slack!)

I think they're all great as opposed to daft though!

FiveGoldenFIMBOIDs · 17/12/2006 18:28

I know a Glasgow couple who named their child Jimmy. The surname is Small.

Of course in Scotland the child will be known forever more as "wee Jimmy".

persephonesnape · 17/12/2006 18:42

I overheard a woman calling her 6 year old (or so) daughter in a petrol station in Glasgow,
'ho! clitoris, time tae go.'

bet she wishes she could grow up being called Jenna Taylor.

tortoiseBells · 17/12/2006 18:44

I've come across a Boo, and also a Tinkerbell(!).

pedilia · 17/12/2006 18:47

JesusWasReallyWelsh · 17/12/2006 18:50

NO WAY IN A MILLION YEARS WOULD SOMEONE CALL THERE CHILD

clitoris

No way no how

JAKEJEM · 17/12/2006 20:08

Spicymulled - are you from Leicestershire???

SantaGotStuckUpTheGreensleeve · 17/12/2006 20:12

Oh look, it's yet another of these spiteful "lets ridicule other people's children" threads. How festive.

Nikaleeona · 17/12/2006 21:26

One of the families at the nursery where i work have got 5 kids called.... Aschanti, Blaine, Brin, Shacotai and Logan! Not the most common names ever!

jampots · 17/12/2006 22:16

there is a blaine in my dd's class. he has a twin sister whose name i cant even say let alone spell - she's nice though apparently

fishie · 17/12/2006 22:30

jane
john
peter
mary

ok?

Whizzz · 17/12/2006 22:48

someone at school is called Axel

SantaGotStuckUpTheGreensleeve · 17/12/2006 23:06

Axel is a very common German name. I've had several friends called Axel. What is the point of this? It's nasty.

imaginaryfriend · 17/12/2006 23:31

I used to study with a french girl called Aliki Braine. Really truly. She was mortified when someone told her what her name described in English!

(pronounced a-leaky-brain)

ChristmasPresence · 17/12/2006 23:42

I like the idea of funny names - I remember once watching a TV programme about it and there was a woman whose name was Jilly, but married and became Jilly Jelly. Another was Aaron C Rescue. There's someone round here called Kerry whose married surnmae is also Kerry.

MrsSpoon · 18/12/2006 00:17

I went through a phase of wanting to call DS1 Axel, think it was pregnancy hormones.

NotSoSilentMhamaiNight · 18/12/2006 00:28

I grew up with a Wally.
