I am supposed to be prepping for a govs meeting on Thursday. So far I have created a folder on my laptop, wenched & bought tickets for an athletics event next summer

I've pretty much given up for the night - seems a bit late to start now. I will at least save the relevant files in the folder & read an email or two before throwing in the towel though. I won't have any excuses not to get straight down to it tomorrow then!

Have you been keeping up with the Vuelta? Disaapointing lack of coverage of Sky team now Froome is out . G is always better value in an interview than Froome.

Coming up to 3 1/2 years now. Has been interesting & there are some lovely people on the Board. HT & DT are fab too, so meetings are good natured, even when the debates get lively . I do more on the finance/data side than anything else, but have done disciplinary & interview panels too.

I used to do curriculum and appeals. It is really interesting. It's great that you're involved. We are very short of governors round here.

Right I'm orf to bed as I've got to get up at what my dear sister calls 'shit o'clock'. Might read two lines of W&P to help me nod off.

Btw Fancy v interested in your thoughts on it. I just need to push on through this first bit.

Re Vuelta, no only snippets as I'm just sooooooooo fucking behind with everything in entire life, have not actually sat in lounge or watched TV for at least a week . Agree Froome always a bit clinical in interviews. GT has lovely Welsh habit of giving silly extraneous info which I like.

We struggled to get parent govs here mintyEva, quite a mixed catchment & a smallish school. Also we're a junior school, parents seem more involved with the infants & lose interest as time goes on. The ambitious pushy parents who want something on their CV are falling over each other to be elected as govs of the high-flying secondaries round here. Reading their election material was an eye-opener

Night comtess. W&P totally worth it - very 'human' & wanky philosphical bits aside I find Tolstoy a surprisingly lively & engaging read. I love GT's way of not taking interview qu's too seriously - he's very funny & yes to the randon extra info. Love him.
