I know this is an odd request - but does anyone have a donkey in the Oxford/Oxon area they could spare for a night?

Sorry, earlgrey I do know of someone who has donkeys but we are many hours travelling time from Oxford. Have you tried the animal sanctuaries in the area yet? They might be willing in return for a donation.

Er, no, I don't have a spare donkey lying around no. But if I did earlgrey could most certainly have it.

LOL at these! I thought that, too, but last year's offering was a choir where everyone, including the children, were bored senseless.

So, reading this week's newsletter I asked Mrs X if it was for real, and it is! Apparently Reception, Y1 and Y4 are all doing a nativity play together, in the playground (mulled wine all round, I was told) and wanted a real live donkey.

Sounded lovely to me, although the logistics seem somewhat on the against them side ...

Well is the donkey sanctuary worth a try, then? It's in Oxfordshire.

BTW, it's a state primary school just trying to do something different and less boring than last year - and I applaud them for that.

Well we once had a sheep and - um - some kind of cow IIRC - it was when DS2 was still in infants so a year or two ago and the details escape me.

They were provided by a teacher with agricultural connections though, and our primary school has a completely enclosed quad with quite a bit of grass for grazing. They didn't come inside but were lovely to look at!
