Work has been a tough one today. I'm always so happy-go-lucky (yes, really) at work that sometimes, I just explode, which today meant crying uncontrollably. Colleagues have advised me to get back in touch with the hospital to see if 8 weeks is the soonest they can sort my back. I don't want to be the arsey patient though.

In washing news, I've got one load crumpled in the dryer and one load in the washer which will finish when it's too late to peg it out. FMW

I suppose it can't do any harm to ask, as long as you ask politely, and I can't imagine you'd be anything other than polite and charming. Would work be willing to accomodate an appointment at short notice? Sometimes it can help get seen sooner if you can be available for cancellations. I appreciate that's not so easy in a job like yours though.
