I've been AWOL as a contingent of family descended last night and haven't had a moment to breathe let alone wench.

But oh my how we have laughed. It's like balm to my soul, proper Welsh cackling and iffy grammar. (I persist in saying 'where's it to?' Rather than 'where is it?' JUST to irritate and frustrate Mr C.) A truly wonderful day of chatting and laughing. Marv. It even chilled out ds1 who is now in nervous terror with exams. Poor soul.

Fancy v poor show from your ex. Very much a tvattsrum offence. Do you think that's why DS has been reluctant to go and stay?

Madame I'd love a proper paella recipe. Mine is most made up by me and I'm sure I could do better.

comtesse I was totally useless today and didn't do any cooking at all. Dp did it all. I feel generally shit and useless and inadequate and irrationally angry at him for being so healthy, fit, full of energy and competent. We aren't really speaking right now. He's pissed off at me for being a miserable bastard. Hmm.

Paella - tbh I dont have a recipe as such. Its all about how you cook it imo, what you put in it is up to you. However I do get ragey and snobby at paellas I see done here with mad stuff like chorizo and prawns in though, cos you would never get a paella like that in spain...

Good luck with the sprays then helen, what a nightmare. I live in fear of that happening, having once had a nasty allergic reaction to a household flea spray. I'm allergic to flea bites too, so at least I have an early warning system.

That sounds lovely comtess. Stick in over by here/over by there/lush as appropriate & really wind him up . Re: ex & DS, who knows? DS is never very communicative - they've only met her once so if I were them (my DCs) I don't think I'd be too chuffed. Anyhow, his exams are over so he will hopefully be a bit more relaxed and may be more willing to talk. I have a lot of work that needs doing in the garden that he's going to help me with (for money, of course), so that may be a good time to chat.

Small mice both asleep at last. Toddler had no appetite so just had toast and yoghurt. But nothing puts babymouse off his food and he had chilli con carne with rice and brocolli .

Ive been very absent / self absorbed, the pisser with migraines is not so much the pain and low energy but also that they send you into a tailspin of proper depression.
