Think mine was seeing Laura sitting in a puddle after being pushed by the horrid Janine last night - DP thinks I have gone mad and is now being super nice to me just in case I cry - ha ha ha!!

Oh and my blubbering down the phone to the police operater on Tuesday!!

What is the silliest thing that has made you blub when pregnant??

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 28/04/2004 15:11

I blubbed th other week when I went to visit dd's nursery (she isn't going until march next year) - it was so sweet and all the children looked so happy that I blubbed - what a twit (and I'm not even pg!)

Angeliz · 28/04/2004 15:17

I blubbed a few months ago when they told me dd's Doctor had left the surgery!!
(It had taken me ages to find one i liked!!!,,,and i'm not pregnant either.!!)

These days i blub at anything though!!(when i'm alone)

libb · 28/04/2004 15:25

I'm usually caught out by the silliest of things on the TV too - something on Star Trek triggered me off recently!

Although, to be honest, I have always been prone to crying over TV programmes/films etc. so can't really blame any circumstance other than I'm an old fool.

officerdibble · 28/04/2004 15:36

that Spike Milligan poem somebody posted the other day had me snivelling (and ds is only 1!)

mistreated donkeys also get me reaching for the hankies

actually they are rather sensible things to cry about; also I'm not pg!

Angeliz · 28/04/2004 15:38

officerdibble, do you know where that poem is as i wanted to write it down?, (had me weepy too and dd is three, God help us)

Natt · 28/04/2004 15:40

Not pg either but that cancer ad on the tube which ends with the kid saying that Dad's had the all clear bring tears to my eyes every day. Sure it wouldn't have before had kids. Lucky it's hayfever season...

officerdibble · 28/04/2004 15:44

Hi Angeliz - I can't find the original post but I did copy and paste it into an email to my friend (she blubbed too!) and still have a copy - here it is :

Growing Up II by Spike Milligan

Is that all there is? Goodbye!
After a million hellos
After all those bird-blessed good mornings,
After the bubbling bathtime laughter,
After so many soul-searching Santa Claus,
After a million wild walks on the moors,
After the swing-swung laughing summers,
After the tear-drenched kiss-better bumped head,
After the new wear-them-in-bed red shoes,
After a tumult of timeless teddy bears,
After a delirium of dolls in prams,
After a rainbow of ice-creams,
After daddy I love you all the world -
Goodbye?

Natt · 28/04/2004 15:46

Thanks

It's great, makes you want to cuddle them doesn't it?

wobblyknicks · 28/04/2004 15:50

I know its not really ridiculous but when I was pg any ads involving badly-off children, eg NSPCC, Oxfam, cancer ads etc, instantly made me start sobbing. They always make me a bit sad but when I was pg I would blub straight away and couldn't stop myself!! Whenever I was round at mums she'd insist on putting teletext on during the ads so I couldn't see anything!!! lol

MeanBean · 28/04/2004 15:58

When Harry Potter got presents for the first time.

officerdibble · 28/04/2004 15:58

certainly does Angeliz ...

alexsmum · 28/04/2004 17:25

ok bit red face making, but when i was pg with ds1 the sma advert used to make me blub..the one with the song" take good care of my baby.."
still makes me feel funny inside!

fairyfly · 28/04/2004 17:38

A trailer for Starwars

Bagpuss30 · 28/04/2004 17:52

The start of Disney's Tarzan used to make me blub when I was pg with ds - still does now for some reason and I'm not even pg!

JennH · 28/04/2004 18:19

Shopping for the baby

I was in floods buying her buggy, I think everyone thought I was potty.

charlieplus3 · 28/04/2004 18:35

Lisa78 being mean to me and not letting me buy a buggy i really really like

squirmyworm · 28/04/2004 18:42

concorde going back to Bristol and flying over the suspension bridge....(not pg but soon after so hormones an excuse!) it was the wierdest thing. kept grabbing dh and blubbing 'look, she's going home to where she was born' - actually it still makes me well up....am I strange?

babster · 28/04/2004 18:49

Yes
Mine is when Littlefoot's mother dies in The Land Before Time - blubbing over a brontosaurus... it's not like the rest of them are alive! What is it with kids' films and maternal deprivation?

squirmyworm · 28/04/2004 18:55

oh babster - you just reminded me - I was aghast when that horse died in 'tales of the cimarron' or whatever it's called. I was in bits. Can't do:

Bambi (ffs what were they thinking of?)
The Incredible journey (tao being washed down the river)
Ugly Duckling (soo sad when he thinks he is ugly)
Watership down ('he's not coming back' aauughhh - 'Bright Eyes still has me in floods)

AussieSim · 28/04/2004 18:56

Ice Age. The first time I saw it I was pregnant and though it was sweet and funny, the second time I saw it DS had arrived and I watched it in a whole different light and blubbed.

fee77 · 28/04/2004 19:02

I cried because my DH didn't bring the washing in when it was raining, i cried when he was watching sport on tv and i wanted to watch hollyoaks, i cried when i burnt the pizza, i cried when i got a puncture, i cried when my neighbour nicked my parking space, i cried when i couldn't get any tarragon in the supermarket!!! I was a nightmare to live with. When i had DD (6 months ago) I DIDN'T cry - too drugged, but DH blubbed! Oh and it doesn't get any better. I still cry and over react at the slightest things - when can i stop using the hormonal imbalance on having a baby?

Codswallop · 28/04/2004 19:02

I cried when pg and I got the wrong day for my much awaited facial

nerdgirl · 29/04/2004 10:09

Ultimate stupid Disney cry - Jungle book when Mogli thinks that Baloo is dead.

Even though I know he's not dead and that he's a bloody CARTOON CHARACTER!! I still blub over the sweet little voice croaking out 'Papa Bear?'
