Any Duggar 'fans' out there?

OK, I can't be the only member of the UK to be a leetle bit intrigued by The Duggar family (19 Kids and Counting - TLC for those of you with obscure TV channels) but I'm becoming a bit obsessed waiting for Jill's baby to arrive (overdue already)!

any one else as nosy as me ?

Over the years I have heard many varying "rumours" about their discipline methods which frighten me but I LOVE the program and everything that I see on the shows Smile

I think she went nearly two weeks overdue, and the planned home birth ended up with some sort of intervention in hospital but all seems well (over nine pounds and she's only a tiny little thing!)...

not that I'm obsessed-

Now, I need to see if my DH needs anything fixing. After all, he does have jurisdiction over me...

Noooo, I absolutely don't love Josh, he's our eldest, he married Anna and they have our first grandchildren, McKynzie, Michael and Marcus, Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn and our tiny, precious addition, Josie the Duggars. Hubby rolls his eyes if he sees me watching them. He calls them the "Fecund Fundamentalists".

I've actually just watched the early shows on you tube. They are SO different now to how they were then. Michelle looks so much younger.

And Poor Ol' Jana - stuck at home with her chores, 25 years old and an unwilling super nanny. Shall we try and rescue her and get her a job, or an education, or even a boyfriend?? there will not be gin involved but I'm sure she would be a willing MNer

Ooh me too can I join?! Love the Duggars - don't really agree with their beliefs etc but am just obsessed with them lol. Excited baby Dilly has arrived - looks like c section to me......

Saw a duggar drinking game suggested - a shot each time you hear Precious, blessing, so much fun, phase of life, etc

Yes. Let's talk Jana.
There was a rumour that she wanted to leave the family home and go to college (a Christian one, naturally). Less screen time because all she does is chores. What makes great TV about that? No awkward side hugs or dress trying on to film...
There was also a rumour that Jim Bob once was on an unaired Oprah show, where she offered to pay to put the girls through college, but he wasn't having any of it?
Oh, and the name Israel - quite popular in Christian circles?

I find the Duggars horribly fascinating from a sociological point of view. Kind of like a Biblical anti-tribe seeking ethical domination of their little corner of America; their children psychologically manipulated into carrying on where Mommy's uterus leaves off; a kind of religious mafia family performing for the camera. I just can't help nosing into their latest antics, like a moth drawn to a flame.

Really, sweet? Ben irritates the heck out of me. He looks like he tries too hard, he doesn't have a job (well, a bit like everybody else), he is too young and childish for Jessa.
I really like Derick, though. I hope Jill and Derick can carve out a life for themselves. Anna seems to be really glowing since they moved away.

I think I might be a tad over invested in the whole thing Blush, but I grew up in an extremely Catholic way, and it's a bit like a blast from the past and watching the bonkers but very endearing relatives.

I love them too. Had been checking online to see if the baby had arrived and then forgot about it so thanks for this. When is the new series starting? They seem like a lovely happy family. My family is so small and it can be very lonely. I always thought jinger would rebel but she seems to have settled into the fold .

My other guilty pleasure is sister wives - the browns , I don't get the attraction to kody but I'm mesmerised by how they live.

boffin I feel the same about them I can't wait to see how the other kids develope as they grow into adults.
Surely one of them will break ranks? Especially when neither of the parents were raised Quiverful there are family members who they could reach out too.

But Jimbob seems to have realised that and is marrying the brood off to other Quiverful.
