looking at safety of babies is hospital beds when feeding - did you have cotsides/bedguards or nothing?

Nothing for both of mine and I co-slept.This small detail did not bother me as the midwives and care I was shown at the hospital for no 1 and MWLU for no 2 were totally fantastic and to be honest it wasnt one of the first issues on my miond at the time!!!

At Forth Park in 1999 I remember a midwife latching my DS1 on and tucking the sheet enthusiastically round the both of us and under the mattress so he wouldn't roll out.

nowt in jr oxford, like harpsi

although at least one midwife saw me in bed trying to feed ds and pushed the fishbowl nearer the bed so that there was something between him and the floor

acnebrideofFrankenstein · 17/10/2006 22:56

mears, do you feel an article coming on?

mears · 19/10/2006 10:14

shhh - we have those cots too but apparently not many mothers like them.

Acnebride - maybe should write about it but I have another fish to fry - physiological third stage of labour!

Nothing on the side of the bed when DD was born in 2002.

It wasn't a prob for me as I didn't sleep at all in the hospital anyway.
