Tuesday's Child Model Agency, Reputable?

My son has been asked to go audition for them but they are asking for an up front fee of £150 for the licence, cv, portfolio & all publicity.

I have heard agency's can ask a fee for children & not adults & they are saying that if they do not accept him onto their books, we will be full reimbursed.

I have heard of people they have on their books & got work for.

I also sent pics of my daughter & they have not accepted her straight away, however they have asked me to provide them with more pictures and said if both kids do go to audition on same day, would only be 1 £150 fee not 2, which to be honest makes me more convinced that they are genuine than accepting both straight away & charging a fee for each!

I was just wondering if anyone on here was with them or knew anyone with them/paid the fee/general advice please?

Please do not comment if you are going to criticise me for looking into my child becoming a model/actor/extra, this is not the feedback i am after as i am genuinely convinced both my kids would love it, they love having their pics taken & i am not a failed model/pushy mum. if they did it once & didn't like it, i wouldn't make them do it again!!!

usaually any book monies etc are taken out of wages.

if they already have your money there's less incentive for them to find you work.

i have never heard of this agency but i have worked as a booker in the past

Hello there,

Just seen your thread. I took my daughter to an audition last Sunday, paid £150, and she has been accepted. Starting to wonder delighting as although she is v cute (obviously I would say that) she was terribly shy during the photo shoot. No.exactly star behaviour!

I would be interested to know if you have any advancements!

Hi , do any of you have any updates ? I too have been offered an Interview for both of my daughters . I was asked to send more pictures if one . I feel the fee is reasonable if this is in fact for both but I am new to all of this and Hoping that they are a genuine company . Thanks in advance x

Ive read that any modelling company that asks for money up front is a load of crap.

And do your children want to be doing this?

And of course your kids are going to be accepted, they get £150 a pop for accepting them.

Your kids photo will be put into a book and you'll probably never hear from them again.

I am a model agent and specialise in Childrens division. Im happy to provide advice. What area do you live in? I can maybe recommend a good agency..?
Kids don't need portfolios as they change so quickly all mostly digital shots on line. Books are outdated now anyway. Fees upfront are usually something to be wary of. However I am aware of Tuesday's and can't say I've heard anything bad about them.

Reading your message again £150 is way too much considering a licence isn't chargeable! I'd look elsewhere. To my knowledge they aren't Cowboys but not a top child's agent.

I'm with Grays & Szelli it doesn't sound right at all - DD was accepted onto the books of one of the more reputable agencies a few years back & they wanted no fees upfront or photography charges - we had tried another & the hard sell was on paying an extortionate amount for photos - which I disputed & they backed down & offered we could provide our own etc - the hard sell put me right off as it went against everything I had been told to expect from a good agency - they take their fees as commision from the work your DC gets, which means they only take on DCs they are sure they can place

Yeah that's right rockin. Agency fees are usually only 10-15% of the child's earnings. Maybe up to £50 for marketing materials at the most. Also to be deducted from fees. The legislation changed a couple of years ago so you are not supposed to pay anything up front. They seem to find different ways to bend the rules though.

I also prefer agencies that password protect the images of children so only parents and approved clients can look through the books. That's only my preference though I think it's good when they have security in mind ahead of anything else.

We took our daughter to Tuesdays Child, the office and yes she was accepted ! We along with a dozen or so other couples had their children accepted and paid our money (cash !) to which we got no receipt.
She was a natural in front of their photographer, which was no surprise as our daughter is used to being in front of the camera as portrait photography is my hobby. Tuesdays child emailed the forms to fill in with local council clearance etc. We duly returned them and heard nothing back, so 6 weeks later i emailed asking if the forms had come back from our local metropolitan borough and they said yes. (this was back in Oct 2014)
We updated our daughters list to them earlier this year and got a return email stating "Great Thanks". we have not heard anything else from them. I'm not holding out much hope of getting a call from them requesting a shoot.
I think i will have to write my £150 off as a lesson learnt the hard way.

Hiya I spoke to another agency Elliott brown & asked quite a few questions as I can't really find anything bad about tuesdays child..... The thing is I'm a mum to 4 & the lady at Elliot brown advised me that the modelling route is a very difficult life esp for me, they can let u know as little as 2 days in advance that u need to be in London, ur not allowed to take siblings to photoshoots ???? I work part time my husband works full time.... It's just not gonna be for us as it's not gonna fit in with our lives shame I think my girl has it (Prob bias lol) x another thing I noticed is if u go on the websites the amount of competition is huge there's several pages of 7year old girls or 4 yr old boys etc.... & to have to travel all the way to London & to still not be picked at the end of it.....there was just too many negatives for us xx good luck to you & your child if u choose to follow it through :) x hope I've helped x

They've been going for years if it's the same one I'm thinking about. Same name. Seems they accept everyone who pays the £150. They used to give auditions and then ask for the money for photographs etc before they take you on.. Seems now they want money even before the audition. Don't fall for it. Ask them to take the money from your first fees. They won't. It's a scam. IMHO.

Hi i know this post was put up years ago but im wondering if u had any joy with tuesday child as my son been offered a interview with them and orange models . Im worried they are a scam and putting him up for a let down.he is only 11 and really want to do this . Or if anyone can help on this or even tell me where to look for good agents.i am in cardiff

Hi guys, don't touch this agency!!!! The woman Kathy is extremely forth coming until she receives the £150. After this she does not contact you, nor do you receive any of the images she states you will. In my eyes this woman is purely after the money! Please be careful!

My little one has been with Tuesdays over a year and has had 2 jobs from them. I was initially wary of paying the fee but figured we needed to have photos and they have been going a long time which to be truthful is the only reason we went. They've been great especially sorting out the licence for the jobs which I being baby brain needed help with!! The most stressful part are the job auditions!!!

My daughter has been called in for a shoot , £30 for that and then if you read small print up to £200 to go on there books if they accept you. With agency called child's play and there sister agency allsorts. I've not a clue what is right or wrong and starting to think it's too much hard word just to determine who the reputable companies are! Any help appreciated thank you !

Hi, any updates on child modelling agencies as most of the comments on here are from years ago. Most agencies I have researched seem to have some sort of fees, others more hidden in t&c's.
Bizzykids seems good but they charge a one off fee of 120.
Urban models seem to be 75.
Bruce & brown say it's free, but they all charge commission of course.

Any advice please??? Thanks
