The Sept thread is starting to take over my "watched threads" page coz it's so darn long.

OP posts:

yeah m and s advert is brilliant, i tend to watch adverts so much more now and the kids on them , never paid much attention before ds, started this

trace2 · 10/10/2006 20:01

i said this morning its a great ad

kerryarron · 10/10/2006 20:01

Kian is on page 48, it took me ages to find him!!

littlemadam · 10/10/2006 20:07

Christabel, it isn't cheap, but we have a railcard and often midweek you can get the apex type tickets. We don't do this for the money tho!!! DS really enjoys it, and doing a couple of filming jobs has made him realise he loves drama! Having said that we are on the upside moneywise If you want to some info, do you want to CAT me?

DS was pencilled for the M and S ad, so a nearly. Wish he'd got it!! They used lots of agencies as far as I know!!

housemum · 10/10/2006 20:08

Julie- we're keeping our fingers crossed that they'll like her - perhaps she looks very different from your DD? Funny how different looks/styles/whatever are wanted by different agencies - UA were a straight "No thanks" for us within hours of sending the e-mail! Elisabeth Smith were the same when we first applied as a baby.

Re M&S advert - I think it's great - not a place i shop for kids' stuff but the advert makes it look good - would say I'd go in there but DD has a full-to-bursting wardrobe as it is!! (Doesn't help that I kept a lot of DD1's clothes so she has all those, too) I love seeing kids in commercials - and I always wonder which agencies they went too, how old the kids are, are any stage-school or models etc etc etc...

housemum · 10/10/2006 20:13

Just thinking about Mimi's post re Boden earlier - that was the only shoot where make-up was used on DD. Has anyone else had make-up used on their under-threes?

(It was just some tinted lipgloss and liquid blusher, although she came out in hives that night on her cheeks and wrists where she'd rubbed her face - didn't even know what hives were, luckily sister-in-law was round and told me to get Piriton or I'd have been rushing to A&E like a prat! She's never reacted since to face paints or anything, and it probably serves me right for not washing her face straight away, as she fell asleep on the way home so the blusher was on for a good few hours until bathtime)

housemum · 10/10/2006 20:15

Perhaps we need a thread for modelling-induce injuries & illnesses - didn't someone have a LO with a huge bruise from a photoshoot? DD had similar for Boots Parenting magazine - 3 girls being photographed jumping on a bed (recipe for disaster) - had to be mine that tripped and headbutted the headboard, didn't it! Funnily enough, they didn't need her for the next shot as her forehead turned red & purple!!

mimi1uk · 10/10/2006 20:16

yeah riley had make up at the burberry shoot he did, and a bit of foundation on a red spot fot the tv ad he done but apart from that he was left natural

christabel · 10/10/2006 20:18

Littlemadam Thanks for that I think I will start with a local agency (DS been accepted by DK agency - just haven't done anything about photoshoot yet) and see what happens as can't imagine school will be happy anyway if I have to take her out.

How does everyone else manage with school re taking their kids out.

mimi1uk · 10/10/2006 20:18

riley has injured himself for pregnnacy mag he got pushed over by a little girl , bless him, he cut his tooth, on the floor on another one, and there was real blood it was horrible, yeah one little boy feel didnt he, and now has a lil scar??

julie4travel · 10/10/2006 20:35

housemum - email me on [email protected] and i will email you a picture over of my dd. same hair colouring etc as your dd. i know what yours look like from the cm photos on here before. post on here when you have emailed me so i dont send it over to a weirdo or something pretending to be u!!!

julie4travel · 10/10/2006 20:37

sha11- forgot to ask have you had your shoot yet? its anytime up to the 17th oct isn't it?

Tinkerbel5 · 10/10/2006 20:55

julie have B & B rung you yet ?

housemum · 10/10/2006 21:12

Julie - have just e-mailed you

littlemadam · 10/10/2006 21:19

Christabel, best of luck, DK are really good, sure you will be happy with them!!
All schools are different, some think of it as great life experience others not keen. Think it depends on age and amount of absences!! I'd bring up the idea in principle and see what they say. Most castings are after school.

It was Pimm's little boy that fell on a John Lewis shoot.

julie4travel · 10/10/2006 21:29

tink no they haven't have they rang you?

housemum about to reply now i know you aren't a wierdo he he!

julie4travel · 10/10/2006 21:44

littlemadam - i remember it was pimms little boy

Pimms- did he ever get rid of the scar? i remember you said it got quieter on the phone the week after as the agent had to advise clients he had a scar. bless him, poor little boy

my kids are accident prone so no doubt will have an accident on a shoot in th e future

julie4travel · 10/10/2006 22:01

cristabel - if its a licence job the school have to sign to say the are allowed the time of school. i try not to take time off for a casting yet i am a shorter commuting distance than you - that may not be possible for you?

mrsratty · 10/10/2006 22:50

dylansluckymum · 10/10/2006 23:52

congrats yackerty! ellesmum glad it went (sort of) well for elle. i think for her age it's as well as could really be expected!

housemum dylan has had red cheeks put on him for all shoots except deb's and tescos! i was really surprised on the first shoot but i guess the want the babies to look all flushed and 'healthy' (never mind that they are healthy and don't look all flushed!).

mimi congrats on castings hope riley gets them both! how old is he?

i just passed the theory part of my driver's test. . never mind that i'm 31 and have been driving for over 15 years... i have to start all over again because i've lived here too long to just transfer my canadian licence! it's really rather embarrassing as everyone there was 17!!!

have a good night all!

sam83 · 11/10/2006 00:35
