they was all so so differnt too with so many different looks etc, they took a video camera of him, and a few photographs with his name, on a piece of paper, so it seems as tho they will take that away and look over it all, etc,

Quadrofiendia · 10/10/2006 17:47

not really chaperoning as such, working in my capacity as a doula really to assist the mums and babies and check they are ok, help out etc. I am so excited but really nervous so will be really cool if you are there!! Whats it for ?

josephgabrielsmummy · 10/10/2006 18:33

Hi I was at all wondering if anyone that has knowledge of child modelling could help me at all? I have been interested in my 3 year old son becoming a child model & have sent pics to a few so far 3 agencies have come back to me with interest for my little boy & im really concerned that im going to get ripped off & subject my little boy to needless trips to places so if anyone has any info on the following companies I would be most grateful the first is Model Child, the second Urban Angels & the third Rascals THANK YOUX

yackertyyack · 10/10/2006 18:34

quad,
email me at [email protected] when you get a chance

ellesmum · 10/10/2006 18:39

joshephgabrielsmummy - i havent heard of model child before, but i know urban angels are one of the top london agencies, they get tons of work for their children and have no start up fees. ive heard mixed review on rascals, and they charge alot for start up fees and photos. at all the castings and jobs ive been to i have seen kids from urban angels so would definatly take it further with them, they also only have around 300 kids on their books which mean internal compertition wont be that hard.

hope that helps and good luck!!

littlemadam · 10/10/2006 18:51

I would agree with Ellesmum, on the agencies.
Have also voted now, good luck you guys!!

Saw DS's first poster today for Ladybird!!

housemum · 10/10/2006 18:55

Thanks to all for your advice and comments re NC and B&B the other day. Had another call from B&B today, so am going to see them on Thurs to see if they want DD! As it's at 3.30 it's 50:50 whether she'll be interested so at least they'll see her at her worst!!! Spoke to NC today, to ask why she's had nothing - they first of all said her licence was out of date (it's not - due for renewal soon but not out-of-date) then they said that they really don't get much call for 2-4 year-olds, but it's likely to pick up when she's 4-and-a-half. As B&B have seemed so keen I will see what they say on Thurs - maybe NC just aren't right for her age group, as loads of you seem to be seeing 3-4 year olds out there. NC only have a 1 month notice period to get out of the contract, so no problems switching. Fingers crossed!! Anyone know how many kids B&B have on their books? NC have 19 3-year-old girls & 20 boys the same age on their website.

josephgabrielsmummy · 10/10/2006 19:09

ellesmum thank you for replying to my message most appreciated, I must say out of the agencies I have seen so far I do prefer this one out of the three so thank you I will see what happens with them they are going to contact me after the 6th November hopefully for an interview the Model Child agency want a one off £99 fee payable for pictures and other things but it appears that this is quite standard practice with child modelling? It seems hard to know which is reputable & which is not! You obviously know what you are talking about! Thanks AgainX

Quadrofiendia · 10/10/2006 19:12

have emailed you yackerty !

mimi1uk · 10/10/2006 19:16

did someone not say on here a while ago that next generally uses american models, etc,???

christabel · 10/10/2006 19:16

Littlemadam hi did post message a couple of days ago but think it got lost somewhere.

You said you were with a London agency and from Leeds, can you tell me which agency you are with as did contact some but they said they wouldn't take kids on from outside area.

housemum · 10/10/2006 19:41

Mimi - don't recall seeing anything re next using American models. DD did a shoot for Next when she was 13 months - 2 other English kids there, London studios (didn't get used though, sniff!! - it was her first job, too )

littlemadam · 10/10/2006 19:44

Hi Christabel, sorry must have missed you, this thread moves on so quickly sometimes!!!
DS is with Bruce and Brown, It does seem it is very uncommon for London agencies to take on a long way out of area, and I'm not sure why they made an exception in our case, but they did make sure we were committed!! Kids London wouldn't take him on.

We are 10 mins out of Leeds by train and so its not too bad to get down there for us. Luckily DS loves trains, but as soon as he gets bored we will stop it!! On average we have been down about once a week since beginning of July. Where are you?? We have gone just for castings, but usually make a day of it, we've done the Science museum, aquarium, river boat and lots of shopping!!!

julie4travel · 10/10/2006 19:45

josephgabriels mummy - out of those agencies urban angles is def one of the best rated in the Uk industry. in one of the older months thread there was some info on Rascals some positive and a few negatives. you rarely hear of negatives with urban angels! the other one i wouldn't have a clue about

Good luck in your decisions

julie4travel · 10/10/2006 19:46

ellesmum congrats on today, bless her poorly with it. Hopefully she will be better soon!

julie4travel · 10/10/2006 19:48

housemum- good luck with b and b they must be very eager for her. I tested the water again for my three year old the other day and they said there is such a strong section in her agegroup at present and she may get lost in the competition! so to reapply in 6 months. I only reapplied as i new there is still time to get out of ts before the shoot. but you would also have the problem of being with a casting agent if you choose to go that route!

mimi1uk · 10/10/2006 19:50

maybe i was imagining it, we have a casting on thursday for them ds is 14 months, i remeber other mums on here doing work for them, not that it matters just bored and talking rubbish

christabel · 10/10/2006 19:54

Littlemadam We are in North Leeds. How old is your DS as once a week going to London is a lot and sounds expensive as presume you have to pay train tickets out of own pocket.

trace2 · 10/10/2006 19:56

cm, net web is back on yay

christabel · 10/10/2006 19:56
