Child modelling October thread

The Sept thread is starting to take over my "watched threads" page coz it's so darn long.

elle31, are there shoots for the gallery aswell? Maybe it is for a new thing, my dd hasn't been asked.
She's going for the model book shoot in a couple of weeks. I met a KL girl, a little older than my dd1, at a casting and she's going to the model book shoot on the same day but a little earlier.
Dd2 not doing it as she's still young

housemum.....you were asking earlier abot NC vs B&B. Well having been doing this for 4 yrs now,I can say we bump into kids from both agencies. However, we tend to bump into B&B kids at photographic castings & only very occassionally at TV advert castings.........and with Norrie Carr it's the other way round. We tend to see their kids at TV Advert castings all the time. We have also bumped into them a lot lately at TV Dramas and film castings.

So I suppose it depends what you want for your DD. Also there is obviously a huge yearly cost difference with B&B being much cheaper.

mrsratty....Got a Junior Mag today and love the pics of your DD!! When we appilied to B&B a little over a yr ago, we were told that model book pics were done 6 monthly in Spring and Autumn

oh yes, i remember talking to a mum who had 2 kids with NC, she said her ds used to be busy, and did stuff for cbeebies, etc, till he didn't want to do it anymore.
The guy i met yesterday who is with NC said he'd done other stuff and even a shoot in Paris!

Housemum, have you decided?? Its a good decision to have to make! DS is with B and B, and we are very happy. Perhaps go and see them and ask about work.

DS has been confirmed for John Richmond, he is soooooo excited, the clothes are so very cool. At the casting they played guitars and generally had to look very chilled. Their pics are fab, here are last years. DS's ideal job!

Thumbs really curious, who's HP could only think of Harry Potter, and didn't think you were a 17 yr old boy!!!

How are the Littlewoods people going. B and B told me when they do a long shoot, they only tell you the day before.

Littlemadam, you're right, but not him, another one of the characters I did it before at Leavesden studios, so was gutted i couldn't make it this time, it was for outdoor near pinewood studios this time

littlemadam i've never even heard of him before but that website is almost unbearable it's so cool! i can see why he's excited!!! is he in any of those pics from last year? cool that they use b&b maybe i can look forward to ds doing that in a few years. i don't suppose the red haired kid is the one everyone's been saying is so popular??

still heard nothing on the littlewoods job, the soot is going on untill the 10th which includes sat and sunday, spoke to kids yesturday and they said they have only booked the babies at the moment.

DLM - B&B will send an invoice when you get paid detailing the amont and jobs.

I got the JL toy catalouge today and if I'm guessing right I think Yummys DD is on the front, if you are around I can scan it for you. Did anyone else do it?

The red haired boy on the JR site is also a B&B boy.....know who he is. The ginger haired boy mentioned yesterday is a smaller child with UA

The red head on the JR site looks really cool, if I had a boy he would have to have long hair!

I've sent the pictures. I picked up the catalouge instore. I've been checking everyday for the past week, since the christmas dec went up.

Ragamuffin, the shoot is Friday 13th -ohhhh er!! Full day, and DH is in London on business that day so me might make a weekend of it and see some friends.
Has anyone done book photos for a photographer?? Its for their portfolio or something, and its expenses and pics?

Thanks littlemadam, looking pretty and smiling is something she's good at though I don't think drama will ever really be her thing! Who are you doing a book shoot for, you would think most photgraphers just use work they have had published for that. Sonds good if you get really good photos though.

I don't know who it is, B and B did say, but I have no brain cells left!! They said he was really good, and did things for Junior etc, but will hopefully hear some more.

littlemadam......By book pics do you mean for his portfolio so he can advertise himself. That's what it sounds like. When I started up I did this to get a portfolio together. Only I just used lots of friends kids and gave them all copies of the pics I took.

hope someone can give me some advice please.

I went to the shoot for cm.net website job and never got any of the shots sent to me. A few on here said theyd had theirs so I just thought i'd wait for my to turn up.Anyway, got a call from the photographer today trying to sell me the photos and asked me if id heard from Isabel at all. My husbands gone bldy mad at me, because it was meant to be a job and not an opportunity to have photos taken (couldve gone to olan mills for that and Ive seen someo fthem with radiators in the background and bad quality!! Awful!!)

Now im a bit concerned because i cant get hold of anyone at cm.net, no replies to emails, phone numbers off, website gone bla bla bla and cant get hold of any of the ladies that run it. And my dh is going at me about sending photos off to strangers over the internet.

I was conned by model direct many years ago, just before it came out on the bbc so I would hate to hear 'I told you so!!!' from him!!!

Anyone heard anything on here, or get any advice what i can do please

debsnkyle- the cm net site owners are in brazil on holiday and will be back soon. further down this thread ellesmum posted a link to get into the second page of the site if you want to look at the forums etc. I had a email from the owner the other day saying she will be offline for a few days so she wont know at the moment her site is down. keep trying over the next few days and it should be back up and running soon. I think she is sponsering someone at the british isles thing next weekend and as a sponser you can supply marketing stuff to show there and get 2 free tickets so she should be back for that. I am going with my son so will probably bump into her at some point there so if site isn't back up and running by then i can probably have a word. I had my photos through already yet not buying any as they weren't superb!

thanks for that. What about the other owners though? Ive been emailing them too and they arent getting back to me either. The owner was posting all the time until it went off, and that is what is making me nervous. She was posting every day regular as clockwork and then it goes off and she has disappeared and all her staff AND my photographs!

also, read earlier that one mum was told that her daughter was chosen for sponsorship by them and went and brought a dress specially and cant get hold of them either?

debsnkyle- hi i am not sure of the other owners id i am afraid! i would give it a few days or so at least till she is back in the country. I own holiday websites and i bet it is hard to try and get things sorted on the site when you are in a different country.
