Having re-read The Half Blood Prince last week, I think he is on the right side, but no-one agrees with me! Anyone else sad enough to have an opinion on this?

OP posts:
alexsmum · 29/09/2006 17:58

so what do you think???? could be?

DumbledoresGirl · 29/09/2006 18:04

Alexsmum

cooking dinner right now so can't stop and theorise with you, but are you sure you are re-reading book 7? would you like to share the contents with me?

alexsmum · 29/09/2006 18:05

lol!!!! book 6 even!!! hbp anyway!!!!!

duh!!!

LiliClouseau · 29/09/2006 18:19

dd and dh have planned their outing when no 7 comes out, they'll be there at midnight (I might tag along....)
she'll be dressed as hermione (surprise)
I can't wait

LiliClouseau · 29/09/2006 18:21

and I really hope JKR is a MNter and has seen this thread

imnot27 · 29/09/2006 18:24

Aleszmum, I agree about Dumble dore,- also, if DD was evil, he would have killed Harry while he was at Hogwarts, surely? Could be horcrux as Gryffindors sword,- it obviously has strong magical properties as it came to help Harry against basilisk in book 2

imnot27 · 29/09/2006 18:24

sorry, can't even spell ALEXSMUM! has been a long day....

imnot27 · 29/09/2006 18:25

Lili, lol, can imagine reading all our ramblings, thinking, 'ooh there's a good idea!' or not.....

OP posts:
cupcakes · 29/09/2006 18:28

I thought that Dumbledore defeating Grindleward (or whatever he was called) in 1945 was a refernce to the magical world teaming up with the muggles and it referred to Hitler's downfall.

imnot27 · 29/09/2006 18:28

Cupcakes, who is Grindleward???

OP posts:
DumbledoresGirl · 29/09/2006 18:38

It is thought it refers to that cupcakes but it has never actually been stated. As for who Grindelwald was, we don't know, but in Book one when Harry and Ron are on the train to Hogwarts, Harry gets a picture of Dumbledore in his chocolate frog and it states there that Dumbledore is famous for defeating Grindelwald.

alexsmum · 29/09/2006 18:39

so should we ask mn hq to try and get jkr for a live chat? any chance do you reckon?

alexsmum · 29/09/2006 18:40

more and more convinced that the sword is dds horcrux.

DumbledoresGirl · 29/09/2006 18:40

I bet she is booked up until 2010. Anyway, would one hour be long enough?

DumbledoresGirl · 29/09/2006 18:41

Or the phoenix....

alexsmum · 29/09/2006 18:42

mmmm not sure about the phoenix, on the one hand yes because it's indestructible , on the hand dd said to harry that it's a very risky business using something that thinks for itself as a horcrux.

saltire · 29/09/2006 18:46

alexsmum, good idea, i suggested that. Will we all email MN HQ en masse and ask?
FWIW i don't think DD is bad at all, there hasn't been (as far as i have read) any evidence to support that he is.
I started reading Order of the Phoenix again today.

DumbledoresGirl · 29/09/2006 19:07

Yes true, but then Dumbledore suspected Voldemort of using Nagini as a horcrux and that might suggest that he himself has a horcrux in a living being.

alexsmum · 29/09/2006 19:27

ok - for the truly sad among us(myself included) there is special stuff going on at jkrowling.com.
the doorto the room of requirement issopen!!! and you can take a wombat exam-it's quite tough.just done it and am hoping for an acceptable at least! very tricky to workout how to start the test. give it a go and if you can't work it out -come back here and i will tell( i cribbed it from mugglenet)

alexsmum · 29/09/2006 19:28

ok saltire -lets do it!!!

alexsmum · 29/09/2006 19:30

right have just e-mailed mnhq.everyone else do it too!

FluffyCharlotteCorday · 29/09/2006 19:38

Stop this dumbledore has a horcrux thing. Stop stop stop. Only inadequate people who are prepared to compromise their humanity have horcruxes. DD is a goody and would never have done a horcrux. "There are some things worse than death". Splitting your soul is one of them.

Sheesh people!

LOL at MI. She obviously hasn't read the books. 6 months ago, I too was relatively normal.

alexsmum · 29/09/2006 19:40

mmm-you may be right(suitably chastised)
is anyone going to have a go at the exam? then we can compare results!

FluffyCharlotteCorday · 29/09/2006 19:43

Has anyone started a thread about having JKR in? That we can all sign into, like saddoes?

imnot27 · 29/09/2006 19:49

Saltire, will email MNHQ now, and request chat with JKR. What did you ask, then we can all ask the same!
