More Harry Potter- Does anyone else think Snapes a goodie?

Having re-read The Half Blood Prince last week, I think he is on the right side, but no-one agrees with me! Anyone else sad enough to have an opinion on this?

I think that's the longest post I've ever seen on mn.

So if the person who does magic late in life is not Aunt P, then who is it? Dudley? No surely not. Anyone have any other ideas on this one?

Dd just can't be a baddie. I can't think of a character like him in the mythical tradition (ooh poncey) that turns out to be evil - but maybe some of you are better read than me?

I do think dd has a horcrux. I'd forgotten about him killing Grindelwald.
