Because I have

I have been getting little bits and bobs for stocking fillers as I see them, and cheapo books.

Can I also recommend one of these £500 bank things , I realise it is better to save in a bank as you get interest, HOWEVER, dh and I have been shoving the odd £1 in every now and then and our Christmas fund can is now neary half full.

Am I:
a) a complete anal saddo or
b) vvvvvv organised and to be admired?

misdee · 17/08/2006 10:20

my kids are having a recycled xmas.

purpleturtle · 17/08/2006 10:21

Have started to think about gathering bits and pieces. Am going to order facecloths with names embroidered on for my 3 (when I know what no3 is and can order the right name!).

But this is probably because I am very bored thanks to being 4 days overdue and the summer holidays.

CountTo10 · 17/08/2006 10:22

Thank god I'm not the only one. Everyone's been having a go at me as I've nearly completed my lo's xmas shopping and am about to send out demands for family member xmas lists!!!

i've been too...

feel a bit

but justifying it as i'm going to be working full time until christmas and wont have as much time to 'leisurely shop' as i like to!

oliveoil · 17/08/2006 10:26

I have a birthday this month and in October as well, it will be like friggin Toys R Us!

Is is not a huge pain selling on Ebay?

OP posts:
Nemo1977 · 17/08/2006 10:26

havent bought anything yet but started looking..also have ds 3rd bday in oct and dds 1st in dec. Intend to start buying in a couple of weeks.

misdee · 17/08/2006 10:27

i am about to sort out my house and rummage for ebay items.

i have a backlog of sale items still new in boxes, and still have that m&s fort in the loft, so they may get that as a joint present.

dd1+2 are getting restored 80's My Child dolls (restored by me, total cost for each will be between £10-30, depends on what i can source cheaply, and if i decided to sew the clothes myself), dd3 is getting recycled toys from dd1+2, as there is abox of suitable toys in the cupboard that she hasnt seen yet.

Enid · 17/08/2006 10:27

yes it is a pain

but worth it for £250

oliveoil · 17/08/2006 10:28

I have tons of crap, will have to sort out, tons of noisy pinging bright toys that give me a headache and I hate with a passion

OP posts:
Nemo1977 · 17/08/2006 10:29

I need to sell some old toys on ebay to make way for the new as want to buy ds and dd the elc kitchen between them as xmas pressie.

Piffle · 17/08/2006 10:29

CountTo10 · 17/08/2006 10:36

Defo with you on that one Piffle, that's part of the reason I've startred os early this year so It's spread out and I exercise a bit more control!!!

Nemo1977 · 17/08/2006 10:37

I used to buy early but learnt from the last 2 xmas with ds when he had a ton of toys I had forgotten I had bought..lol

expatinscotland · 17/08/2006 10:37

Absolutely!

I already have gifts for the parents and ILs.

Am saving for the girls as well.

Bozza · 17/08/2006 10:41

Aha no piffle. Paid it off last month. I am also hoping to start paying for Christmas early but will probably be paying off the next fortnight's holiday so will be difficult.

iota · 17/08/2006 10:48

good grief

I don't even think about Christmas until October. I'm still in summer holiday mode - haven't even got to 'back to school mode' yet

Bozza · 17/08/2006 10:55

I had to get in back to school mode first iota. Because we won't be getting back until the day before term starts. So I have been busy sorting all that already.

iota · 17/08/2006 10:59

manyana Bozza- I'll be the one in the massive queue for school shoes

wheelsonthebus · 17/08/2006 11:01
