er no!

HonorMatopoeia · 01/08/2006 15:56

Nope - that's quite disturbing. Can only imagine the questions that would invite!

expatinscotland · 01/08/2006 15:56

eeew, that's a bit grim. i wouldn't like to look at that poster myself.

Enid · 01/08/2006 15:56

well it was on the wall opposite where we came out of Over The Hedge this morning and both dds (6 and 3) saw it and dd1 wsa quite upset.

I complained but apparently 'head office' ok'd it. Dh thinks I am overreacting.

I wasn't even brave enough to get past the scream and clicked it off. I was upset when flying back from Florida recently to find out they were showing a horror film on the plane on the way home. Thought this was totally unsuitable for a family airline. Luckily it was the June schedule and it was July so we missed it..

bin · 01/08/2006 15:59

seems something is very wrong here, you go to a U rated or PG rated film and see such a poster they wouldn't be allowed as a trailer on the dvd!

expatinscotland · 01/08/2006 15:59

Think I'd complain in writing. That's gross.

Enid · 01/08/2006 16:01

exactly bin

can I copy ASA on my complaint letter do you think

OP posts:
dmo · 01/08/2006 16:01

head office prob dont have young children
get children to write in to say how upset they were

southeastastra · 01/08/2006 16:03

it is the summer holidays! my son would be worried about that for weeks. whats ASA?

Enid · 01/08/2006 16:04

advertising standards authority

lionheart · 01/08/2006 16:06

I don't think you're over-reacting. I's complain, not least because it's the Summer holidays and the place must be teeming with children.

I think there is a big difference between real images of people suffering through war and throwaway graphic images used to sell (almost certainly crap) movies.

yes agree I may be being sensitive

but the dds were upset by it and neither of them have had a baby recently as far as I am aware (well not literally anyway) so hormones aren't entirely to blame.

OP posts:
southeastastra · 01/08/2006 16:28

the man had no head! it would freak out my son

also it is very realistic (not cartoonish)

anyway have complained to cineworld and ASA so we'll see

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 01/08/2006 16:29

I think if it's just the picture of the severed head then it wouldn't bother me (don't forget that the link we were directed too shows the blood 'spurting' out of the neck on the decapitated body too). And from what I understand of the OP the poster only shows the head it's self.

Has anyone watched the trailer - have to confess I PMSL at the end bit about the foot

orangegiraffe · 01/08/2006 16:30

omg that outrageous. My kids wouldnt sleep if they seen that

Enid · 01/08/2006 16:30

no its that entire image

the neck with blood AND the head
