How about a Mumsnet Wine Club?

We could have

Reccommendations in different price/country/grape categories.

Tastings, all arrange to buy the same bottle of wine and have it on the same night, compare notes.

Post any good special offers we see.

Anyone up for it?

Could have a grape of the month, everyone could try different wines of the same grape but for eg from different regions and countries and compare.

Couldnt' stomach the idea this morning ... would have got prefects badge for the MN WIne CLub last night - judging by my sterling performance to try every bottle in the restaurant

cd - yes, but I don't know how available they are in the UK. There are lots of under-priced Navarras for example. Dp knows more (I just drink it really). I'll ask him.

This is a great idea. My dh is Australian, so nearly all the wine we buy is from Oz. I'd love to find out more about wine from other countries.

Justine that would be great if you wanted to contact Oddbins etc. What form does their sponsorship take?

By the way I don't profess to be any great wine expert! If there are any mumsnetters that are their advice would be welcome.
