Thats only about 2 weeks, I really wish you the best of luck. The only advice I can give is to try your best to be as chilled out about it as you can. Its the best feeling when they say you've passed.
I'm still walking on air, it feels like I'm doing something naughty when I'm out on my own though!! Now I can just relax and wait for my baby to arrive.....

Hi - can you keep fingers crossed tomorrow for my dp (Juno) as she's got her driving test at 9.20am!! First time she's taken it and after a couple of years on and off learning to drive. I'm so pleased she's nearly there - I work full-time but don't use my car so it'll make a huge difference for her to be able to drive with the kids during the day.

charmkin · 16/08/2006 18:37

FAILED MY TEST TODAY! encourage me to try again am depressed enough as it is ( seriously )

charliecat · 16/08/2006 18:39

Good Luck Juno
Charmkin what happened? Just think next time you will know exactly what to expect and will have a much better chance of passing. Rebook and don't allow yourself to give up

My DH just got a new job and he;ll be taking the train in. that leaves me with a car sitting there every day.
I need to get my licence!!

Dottydot · 16/08/2006 19:30

sorry to hear that Charmkin. Do you know why it went wrong? Keep going - seriously - I hardly know of anyone these days who passes first time. Was talking to some friends at work today and they'd all taken 2 - 5 times to pass! Dp is taking hers tomorrow and we're just looking at it like a trial run. I think the important thing is to re-book another test asap - don't let it put you off driving!

charliecat · 16/08/2006 19:31

I will be on my third in september Was hidious the first time better the 2nd time and hopefully i will kick ass on number 3!

Hi Charliecat. Just wanted to say good luck for Saturday in case I don't manage to get online tomorrow.
3rd time lucky, you can do it!!

Iklboo · 31/08/2006 16:07

If anyone's in the North Manchester area and wants lessons, my DH is an instructor. Very reasonable rates and he has a 100% pass rate.

prettymum · 31/08/2006 16:12

no, but can you get him to drive dwn to london because i need to start my lessons again, failed my first test in april, now have 2 kids so desperately need to drive!!!!!!!!!!!

Iklboo · 31/08/2006 16:12

prettymum - that might bump his petrol costs up a bit

prettymum · 31/08/2006 16:14

damn, my last instructor was useless, he just wanted my money!! he doesnt answer my phone calls!!

Iklboo · 31/08/2006 16:18

DH has had a few new pupils who've defected from some of the 'bigger' schools. They're telling him how the instructors aren't letting them learn to use the clutch for the first 5 lessons or just driving up and down in a straight line for 5 lessons.
DH aims to get his pupils passed in something between 10 and 20 lessons if he can

prettymum · 31/08/2006 16:23

i took about 40 lessons!!! i had to keep asking about when he'd get me to do my manoevers!! he would only get me to do a few and we kept driving in the same places, im starting to feel like ive been ripped off!!!!

Iklboo · 31/08/2006 16:25

Sounds like a right rip off merchant to me! Well, you'll just have to move to Manchester for a couple of months then till DH gets you through your test

TopBanana · 01/09/2006 21:03

Bump

Good luck Charliecat
