What is it with you lot and hero worshipping other mumsnetters? I haven't posted before but come on mumsnet to read peoples valuable advice and guidance and what do we get? bloody hero worship that's what, I am sure some of these people are very nice and have been on mumsnet for years and years blah blah but the purpose of this site is surely to enable people to get feedback on parenting issues not revert to playground behaviour of following around the self appointed 'cool kid'. There has been loads about cliques etc and my god it's true and the only ones who get uppety about it are either those in them or those desperate to be. One particular mner is worshipped like a god, when actually she can be downright rude at times, yet any thread she starts no matter how ridiculous gets loads of responses and others who need genuine advice are ignored or worse still accused of being 'trolls'. I am going now to spend some time with my children maybe a few others should try it.

Bye then

whortleberry · 06/07/2006 10:12

Nobody's making you read it.

Don't let the door bang your arse on the way out.

sugarfree · 06/07/2006 10:12

What a lovely first post.
Jolly well done you!
We'll all be clammering to be your friend now I'm sure.

queenbird · 06/07/2006 10:13

I read it to get advice - typical ignorant responses to a genuine view, which one are you in a clique or desperate to be?

OP posts:
whortleberry · 06/07/2006 10:13

I seriously doubt it's this creature's "first" post.

whortleberry · 06/07/2006 10:14

My advice to you then?

Fuck off.

sugarfree · 06/07/2006 10:14

Oh do shut up.Really.

sugarfree · 06/07/2006 10:14

(not you WB)

MrsJohnCusack · 06/07/2006 10:15

see ya!
plenty of helpful guidance on here as well as much needed chat & light relief
This post contains neither

whortleberry · 06/07/2006 10:15

I know.

Cod not a nice trait though, QB.

Piffle · 06/07/2006 10:15

I get advice
Give advice
Talk shit
Have a laugh
If you are on here at the expense of time with your kids, thats your guilt trip
My conscience is clear in that direction.

Feistybird · 06/07/2006 10:15

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

SaintGeorge · 06/07/2006 10:16

Oh ffs, here we go again.

You want advice, ask questions or stick to the serious threads.

You want fun, hang around in chat and get involved in the mayhem.

You want arguments, hang around pretty much anywhere or start a thread like this one.

You dont like it, bog off.

Simple really.

LadyTamba · 06/07/2006 10:16

Like thats really your first post....

Will repeat what I said on another thread recently... People only think MN is cliquey when they are unpopular and no-one likes them. Maybe its a sign they should move on.

Bye then....

Naughtynoonoo · 06/07/2006 10:16

Chill out qb

LiliLaTigresse · 06/07/2006 10:17

suzywong would be pleased to see that this has kicked off pretty damn quickly
without any encouragement
queenbird it's only a website
most genuine problems get a great response
the rest you can ignore if you don't like it

fairyfly · 06/07/2006 10:17

Spend time with kids?

Sorry , don't get it, why?

zippitippitoes · 06/07/2006 10:18

I opened this thread with the expectation of offering some sympathy ...what a rubbish and bitter op

ILoveYouMoonDog · 06/07/2006 10:18

I totally agree
hero worship is disgusting

WorshipAtTheFeetOfCod · 06/07/2006 10:20

Hero worship? Here...Never!

Piffle · 06/07/2006 10:20

even if you worship at the shrine of Moondog?

ILoveYouMoonDog · 06/07/2006 10:21
Wink
Medulla · 06/07/2006 10:21

But she's got a point, Mumsnet is vvvvvvv cliquey, can be rude, and damn well frustrating. But it's a great web site, there is a wealth of great advice out there but sometimes you need to weed it out. Stay with it QB some of us are ok (ish!)

expatinscotland · 06/07/2006 10:21

arf and parp

CodIdol · 06/07/2006 10:21

Nothing wrong with a bit of fish worship/baiting occasionally.
