tavalana · 10/07/2006 15:27

anyone has a toddler with bruce and brown?

thorntons · 10/07/2006 16:16

Hi tavalana,I have a 2 and a half year old dd who is with B and B.

beacon · 10/07/2006 16:35

Hi, I have an 18-month old with B&B

tavalana · 10/07/2006 17:05

Do they get a lot of work? My ds2 is 2 and a half and joined them last year, had a good few months and now things slowed down, is it always like that?

beacon · 10/07/2006 17:20

Tava >> Same thing with my ds. This time last year he was busy, but this year pretty much nothing apart from one casting. I asked the agency and they said he has a different look from the norm, so he's never going to get as much as other kids. They love him though, so I'm always hopeful something really special will come up.

mrratty · 10/07/2006 17:27

She's with B & B. They have been fantastic!

tavalana · 10/07/2006 17:39

glad to hear it's only mine then! maybe i should give the agency a call about this, see what they think. i'm pleased with them just wish he was having a little bit more work.

mrratty · 10/07/2006 17:46

2 year olds don't generally get much work as they are a difficult age to work with. Most agencies generally don't take on new 2 year olds due to this. Work should pick up again at age 3.

princessmel · 10/07/2006 17:51

Hi,

I phoned B and B today about my dd application and they said that I should get a reply soon. Then when I looked at the pics I'd sent I decided to send them some more updated ones. Then I rang again to let them know! They're going to hate me!

hairymclary · 10/07/2006 18:33

it said it in the e-mail i got following my application:

"This company is selective with the children it accepts onto its books.
The
very fact that your child has been accepted means that we are confident
that
there will be the likelihood of work"

misdee · 10/07/2006 18:35

tav, i have been told that ages of 18months to 2.5years are generally quite slow work wise as they are an awkward age to work with.

tavalana · 10/07/2006 18:56

i received the same email as hairymclary from bizzy kids. applied for my ds1 to join them now i'm not so sure has anyone had work with them? i'm waiting to hear from bubblegum, mot jr, kids london and boss, should i bother trying cheeky kids? are they any good? and that alphabet kids, do they charge?

tavalana · 10/07/2006 23:01

do they charge a lot to join them?

rupertbear · 10/07/2006 23:17

hello everyone. Thought I would just add my experiences with BK, along with everyone else. My nephew is with them, mine isn't and they have had work. He is only 8 months so they do get work for babies.

Also I notice one mum said that they were quoted a fee and then paid less. That is normal because an agency has to take their commission and earn their money too.

There was someone on here before that gave some good advice and said something on the lines of although one agency might be good for one they might not be good for another. The best thing to do is find one that is right for you and not someone else. Their experiences might be helpful, but perhaps not always correct. If you know what I mean? No agency guarantees work and can't either, but they must promote a child properly, so as long as they do that, which is easy to establish and they have loads of clients, then they will do the best for their children I would think because them working is the agency earning. Hope that makes sense and is helpful.

mimi1uk · 10/07/2006 23:25

think truely scrumptuous charge about £150, and thats about average, i personally now knowing what i know would not pay anything over £50 because otherwise there is no need for it, if one agency can charge u £30 when u get your first job like mot kids urban angels do, and nothing else and some others charge such large amount is strikes me as there is something wrong, i spoke to a man from a agency who says that anything over £40 for a website etc is a con, and he knows because he has a model agency based site, i think the way all the different agencies work makes it so difficult to ,make the right choices, and i think most of the mums on here have made some wrong decisions before finding the right agencies for their child, and im sure many other parents get put off alltogether, because they are scammed by some agencies
The agencies have got a very captive audience as they know how proud it will make the childs parents so the parents will make reasons to spend x amounnt on websies model books photos, etc, i spent a lot of time and wasted money trying to find a good agency for my son, and i feel now i am lucky enough to have found them.. i would just advise people to take time, and to apply to all the agencies and see what they all say before making a decision, as u might not evenm have to part with money with certain agencies, and once u have spent the money out, its gone. sorry just rambling on x

rupertbear · 10/07/2006 23:59

mimi, totally agree with that. If its just a website then that shouldnt be more than £40 I agree. Parents should find out what they are paying for first., but some dont just do websites they have books and other ways of promoting there kids so that would be more I would think.

what agencies did you lose money to? My nephew was signed to models direct until I told them about watchdog! Can't believe my sister didn't see the programme, I thought every one and his brother did?

babyPrincess · 11/07/2006 00:18

But for bizzykidz , are the babies or the 5 year olds getting more work then the older ones on the agency.

rupertbear · 11/07/2006 00:28

i wouldnt know. Someone on here says the older ones get more work, but I only know that my nephew gets work and is a baby, which is why I put my message on just to answer that point earlier

rupertbear · 11/07/2006 00:30

perhaps they said the older ones are busyest cause they know someone with older ones that had work. Maybe. I'll find out tomorrow what jobs he's done and let you know. How old is yours, sorry it he/she a girl or boy?

mimi1uk · 11/07/2006 00:48

rupert bear do u have kids? do they do modelling
