Ok, I've got to start this one now, as I was actually lying in bed last night thinking about it (v sad I know - insomnia was another present from the kids)
Anyway, what sort of mental images have you got of these people. I'll list mine now - no offence intended to anyone!
Mollipops - after your last post, it's got to be puff the magic dragon!
Pamina - chic city lady with dark curly hair (that's what you sounded like bc anyway).
Tigger - dungarees & wellies caked in mud - with a VERY large g&t in hand
Chanelno5 - tricky one this, as I misread your name initially & thought it was channel no 5, not nearly as upmarket I'm afraid, but now it's confused with a north sea oil rigger!
Ems - delia smith (sorry)
Lizzer - Bit like that lass from the boddies adverts (know the one I mean),
Anyway, that's my starter for ten, I'll add anymore I think of.

LisaV - I always think you sound young & very sweet, be interesting to see what we think of you with your new name.
Sml - smell? nuff said! (would do a smiley face if I could)
BTW, I also used to be someone else!

Twink is the brand name for tippex in NZ, so I can't see your name without visualising a bottle of the white stuff dancing across the screen.

Tigger2 · 05/02/2002 16:35

Star, do you know me????, anyway bit of Mumsnet sympathy needed here, I'm going to get 2 teeth pulled tomorrow, so onto the soup diet for a week!! I can ride a motorbike, 4 wheeled and 2 wheeled, love icecream but it hates me fangs at the moment.

sml · 05/02/2002 17:31

Berries, please could you explain why you think I sound like the sort of person who smells? "Just a joke" isn't a valid excuse, by the way.

TigerMoth1 · 05/02/2002 17:42

Star, ankle boots and lace? do you have me down as a goth!!!

jodee · 05/02/2002 17:55

Tigger, every sympathies - i remember with horror my wisdom teeth being taken out.

At least you can still indulge your passion for a G&T!

Marina · 05/02/2002 19:53

Tigger, good luck at the dentist, hope it's not too grim.
Sml, I always thought you might have two sisters called Med and Lge...
For the record, I don't have long blonde hair (I wish...) and as for being neat at home. Oh, dear. I am typing this in a spare room that looks like a bomb went off in Toys R Us. And if anyone is wondering where the Christmas Vinopolis snaps have got to, well I finally located the negatives down the back of a sofa yesterday. So, they're coming...
I love reading others' posts but am rubbish at imagining how you all look!

Rhiannon · 05/02/2002 20:46

Me too Marina, I do remember the names that cause a 'stir' though so I like to look at what they post! That may be me tonight. R

MalmoMum · 05/02/2002 22:39

You are all beautiful creatures.

You all deserve the right to communicate with each other.

Is there any chance you could just talk amongst yourselves?

It's great for the regulars but otherwise very self inclusive.

Tinker · 05/02/2002 22:43

Aaagh, MalmoMum - don't feel left out! You're the blonde one in ABBA!

Lizzer · 05/02/2002 22:56

Marina LOL- sml med lge! Hehehe

MalmoMum · 05/02/2002 23:00

It's very easy for you to find out each other's addresses.

For you guys it has been fun, keep it so.

berries · 06/02/2002 09:24

SML, sorry, too used to spelling phonetically at the mo (kids in reception & year1).
I read it as 's' 'm' 'el', promise to read it as 's' 'm' all' in future.

Star - i'm mortified, what makes you think I like cats!!!!! See if you can spot me with my new name!
Austa la Vista!

callie · 06/02/2002 14:34

LisaV. You are one otf the few women here I actually picture in my head. I imagine you have long shiny black hair and are quite slim and groomed.
Tigermoth. I picture in floaty skirts and doc martens for some reason.
Jasper , small with tiny features and an dark cropped haircut.
Lizzer , very tall wears a lot of leggings.
I have no idea were these images come from though.

Callie, substitute the floaty skirts for '50's skirts and you'd be spot on about me, but nearly 20 years too late - 20 years!! where did the time go?

Jodee, thanks for the extremly glamorous tag, (possibly on the odd evening in a dim light, if the beholder is not too sober, even then that's pushing it, but I try and live up to this sometimes) not so sure about the matriarch bit in real life. I just don't look forceful enough.

Pupuce, although I know what you look like, your name reminds me of a butterfly - as in pupa I suppose - so I picture you as a colourful, flying creature.

Lil, I havn't a full mental image of you, but I strongly imagine that the expression on your face is often a tad mischevious or ironic, typing while trying to contain your exasperation or more likely, your laughter.

Rhainnon, I know you are tall. I imagine you walk fast and have a very useful, distincitve and well organised handbag.

I better end before I offend!

TigerMoth1 · 06/02/2002 17:10

PS Does anyone ever imagine their boss is a mumsnetter in secret?

Also, this thought keeps going through my mind. Is there a celebrity mother amongst us? After all, with the anonymity you get here, together with a false 'real' name and email address when you join, it would be possible to remain completely secret.

For the celebrity, it would be a great way of receiving feedback from other mothers and having normal conversations, without fame, or the risk of litigation, getting in the way.

Madonna - are you out there!!!

Lizzer · 06/02/2002 17:41

Tigermoth - I had the same thought about celebrities using mumsnet myself, I've heard stories that a few use the, a-hem, seedier side of the internet to get their kicks. So it would be great if there were on here - see I bet people are feeling bad for slagging off Kate Winslet now eh, she might be any one of us??!! (actually its me - I wish!)

Hopefully it wouldn't attract Posh though, surely she'd have to have someone to type in her comments once she dictated them. Mia-ow

Callie, yes I'm tall, but my bum in leggings? Never ever ever!!! (well ok once, but it was the 80's!!)

Tinker · 06/02/2002 19:05

I am India Knight!

callie · 06/02/2002 19:08

Well actually Lizzer,we already have Gina Ford here posting as her alias Pupuce!
And I did't want to tell you all but Iam actually Maddona. But you can call me Madge.

Rhiannon · 06/02/2002 20:38

I'm Nigella (but I can't cook) similar hair and fatness though. R

Pamina, funnily enough I've bought a red hair dye today. It won't take, they never do but thought I'd give it a 45 minute blast with hair in a Tesco bag to give it some pzazz! R
