Ok, I've got to start this one now, as I was actually lying in bed last night thinking about it (v sad I know - insomnia was another present from the kids)
Anyway, what sort of mental images have you got of these people. I'll list mine now - no offence intended to anyone!
Mollipops - after your last post, it's got to be puff the magic dragon!
Pamina - chic city lady with dark curly hair (that's what you sounded like bc anyway).
Tigger - dungarees & wellies caked in mud - with a VERY large g&t in hand
Chanelno5 - tricky one this, as I misread your name initially & thought it was channel no 5, not nearly as upmarket I'm afraid, but now it's confused with a north sea oil rigger!
Ems - delia smith (sorry)
Lizzer - Bit like that lass from the boddies adverts (know the one I mean),
Anyway, that's my starter for ten, I'll add anymore I think of.

OP posts:
bells2 · 04/02/2002 10:46

Ha ha ChanelNo5 - That is brilliant!

sml · 04/02/2002 13:24

I have always thought that Pamina is a blond, Oxford graduate, Italian speaking accountant ... but that's cos you remind me of someone I used to know, Pamina! I don't suppose it is you is it!?

Lizzer · 04/02/2002 13:53

Now I have stopped choking to death after reading my comments, I'll begin...
Berries- bodington ads= melanie sykes?? I wish! Tinker- Diane Moran + active? I wish!
Chanelno5- bit skatty? I AM!! (no swirly skirts though, but prob will with the new season's gypsy/hippy look descending -have resisted buying a smock so far, as boobs and smocking does not a good silhouette make!)

I was really good meeting up with everyone at the Vinopolis do as your mental images change so quickly when you meet people in real life and they replace the thoughts you had in your head in an instant -I recommend everyone should do it!

CAM · 04/02/2002 14:04

Batters and Lizzer - had to snigger when I read people's images of you two, especially Batters!! Lizzer, you are a smigden bit like some of their ideas (but they did miss out incredibly good-looking!)

LisaV · 04/02/2002 14:53

Sorry Enid, but I always see you as Enid Blyton, a very motherly figure reading stories to her children and baking cakes. I'm sure you're not like that at all!

Just to tell you all that I am changing my nickname as friends keep coming on and reading back to me what I have written on here! Very annoying! I feel like I am being watched! So I won't tell you my new name, but I'm still around. Not that anyone cares of course, sob sob!

Lill · 04/02/2002 15:02

Go on then chanel what about us - lil and me lill how will you differentiate us without looking at our posts? Lil is a scientist and Im a mad fool who appreciates your sense of humour and seems to upset GF mums.
By the way I though enid was small and dark and very gentle. and I thought pamina was very elegant, dark and terribly glamourous. Chanel I think you are Patsy from ab fab.

Enid · 04/02/2002 15:03

LisaV - I try I try...

The only person I've got a mental pic of is Pamina who I imagine to look just like India Knight (journalist, writer) only a bit thinner.

jodee · 04/02/2002 15:04

Hey, chin up LisaV, we luv ya! Weren't you going to change your name to Tiny Tears or something, tee hee!

ChanelNo5 · 04/02/2002 17:23

Lill - The only thing me and Ab Fab Patsy have in common is that we're both p*heads! Sadly I don't have legs as long as her's, rather I am about as tall as one of her legs! I'll post another list later after scanning the board for more victims.......sorry, mumsnetters, and after a large G&T to help my creative juices start flowing - that sounds a bit repulsive doesn't? But here's a couple for starters.....

Twink - I think, is not actually human at all. But is actually one of those little elfy things out of Lord of the Rings - well, they are quite cute!

BTW - It's very obvious to me that you (Lill) and Lil are identical twins. Not even your mother (Lilll) can tell you apart which is why she has to embroider your names on the front of your dungarees, rather like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee!

It's truly amazing, I know you all better than you know yourselves! Who said I can't be a serious Mumsnet contributor?

TigerMoth1 · 04/02/2002 17:49

Tinker and Chanel, thanks for the flattery! 'bit of a babe' I wish!

Strangely, you both think I am very tall. Do I come across as a looming presence here?! don't mind being tall at all BTW - but I am about average in height - without my 'babe' glitter platforms of course.

Here's a few more:

RobinW I always imagine as small, bright eyed with thick unruly hair, dressed in a lab coat- it's all that medical knowledge you exhibit.

Croppy brings to mind images of Banarama, circa 1983 with their cropped tops. Sorry, as a city person, I'm absolutely sure this isn't how you really look.

Star is fashionably alternative in appearance and loves jewellery. Probably wears jeans and combats a lot, and looks young for her age.

And Chanelno5 shops at Whistles and Jigsaw a lot, and has very well manicured nails and an impeccable hair do.

Joe1 · 04/02/2002 18:04

I think Scrummymummy would be much more like Patsy from Ab Fab.

Tinker · 04/02/2002 19:04

Enid - that's so cruel! I cannot STAND India Knight! She really is for the Up their own Derrieres thread! Has anyone had the misfortune to read My Life on a Plate? Don't.

ChanelNo5 · 04/02/2002 19:38

Tigermoth - I wish!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll have to get my act together before the Mumsnet meet-up now, otherwise you'll be in for a shock (afterall, I am a couple of off-duty North Sea oil riggers!)

Ok, here's a few more:-

Bloss - 50's bathing beauty in flowery, pink bathing cap and fly-away specs.

EmmaM - The Real Slim Shady?

Jasper - Martial arts expert who can chop a block of wood with one chop of her arm - hiyah! A prettier version of Peggy out of Hi De Hi.

Mooma - I can only think of Moomin Mama out of the Moomins (sorreee - I'm sure you're a lot more gorgeous in real life!)

Soothepoo (soo-the-poo!) - I love this on! Are you the wife of South Park's Mr Hanky?

WendyM, Hilary & Bossykate - All members of Batters' ladies hockey team - think 'Playing The Field' but with Pims instead of pints!

Me mad, why ever would you think that, Pamina? Anyway, was wondering where you were. You've been very quiet on the weight loss thread lately, have you been at the gym all lunch time pumping iron and too busy too post?

bossykate · 04/02/2002 21:31

tinker you are so right about my life on a plate - i ended up feeling sorry for the husband and he was a right...

chanelno5 - ladies hockey team eh? berries - what have you started!!!

Ailsa · 04/02/2002 21:36

I'm saying nothing!

Apart from, every time I have an image of someone, it's always WRONG. So I'm going to give up on this one and wait until we meet in May.

MotherofOne · 04/02/2002 21:51

Don't think I post enough to leave any lasting impressions (have to do some work at the office too unfortunately...) But its very funny reading all the others!
Expect to hear more from me from May (maternity leave starts) and then I'll want a full character assassination before we meet up!

jodee · 04/02/2002 22:19

Tigger and Tigermoth, I have always imagined you both to be the extremely glamorous matriarchs of the North and South!

EmmaM · 05/02/2002 08:48

Slim Shady eh? Well, probably a bit mad, but not psychotic (yet). I did have very short, peroxide hair for a while, but found straight jackets a bit restricting. I look a bit more normal nowadays, but am well known for my ridiculously high-heeled shoes.

I like it - makes me sound a bit rebellious! Thank you ChanelNo5!

Lizzer · 05/02/2002 11:35

CAM, thanks for the flattery - made my day, most untrue though of course!!

Lisav - oh what a shame you are changing your name, but I can understand it must be a bit annoying to be quoted! The only person I know personally who uses Mumsnet never mentions what I've written (Bexi -are you out there, or too busy writing essays?!) but we have discussed some of the threads in the past. I hope I can suss you out quickly without giving the game away to anyone else!

(pssss... hey everyone, for your own mental images - I've met CAM and she's a real foxy lady y'know, absolutely stunning!)

sml · 05/02/2002 12:52

Now that's interesting Pamina...I thought you studied Modern Languages and did your time abroad in Italy, but maybe I am wrong! Anyway, to settle the question once and for all, the name of the person who might be you starts with L, and the last time I saw her, she was going out with a certain old Etonian... do tell me if I am right, I am very curious now!
