Don't think anyone else has started a thread on this.
Anyway, Radio 2 are running a competition, the prize for which is a family trip to Balamory (Tobermory), staying overnight and the chance to appear in an episode. The competition is dead easy, just identify 3 classic children's TV theme tunes.
I still haven't worked out links, but its on

My kids are too old or too young to be interested but sure there must be some of you out there that would just love it.

hoxtonchick · 19/01/2004 22:40

JanHR · 19/01/2004 22:52

I have just entered it.
What are you stuck on howtonchick

hoxtonchick · 19/01/2004 22:56

got r&c, dp says the first is teletubbies & the second is postman pat. i'm not convinced. thanks jan!

JulieF · 19/01/2004 22:59

The 1st one is definately not teletubbies but I don't know what it is. 2nd is Postman Pat

elena2 · 19/01/2004 23:01

What is it then if it's not Teletubbies? Sounded just like it to me!

hoxtonchick · 19/01/2004 23:02

JulieF, did you get that the last one is rhubarb & custard? Sorry, I was being lazy about typing.

JanHR · 19/01/2004 23:03

Sorry Julie I have just listened again. DP and I both agree no.1 is Teletubbies

Enid · 20/01/2004 13:14

WE are going, WE are going, I'm going to get Miss Hoolie to look after the dds and I'm going out to get p**d with Archie and Pc Plum! Huzzah!

codswallop · 20/01/2004 13:19

I think you will find I am on that trip actually!

motherinferior · 20/01/2004 13:21

I'm sure Archie and Plummers will just spend the evening gazing into each others' eyes. You'd be better off having an evening out with Miss Hoolie, who I bet is a bit of a goer

ghengis · 20/01/2004 13:24

I have a theory that Spencer and Josie Jump are the same person - I'm the only black person in the village! Ooops, wrong thread!

codswallop · 20/01/2004 13:29

bet miss hoolie has green cacks

Roscoe · 20/01/2004 13:30

I want to know how come Archie has a huge 'tasteful pink castle (no smuttiness, thankyou!) but only ever seems to use that one room. What does he do with the rest of the space? Sporran storage? Or does he use it to hold raves for Miss Hoolie, Josie "Not really on amphetamines" Jump and their scary friends? Unless he and PC Plum have their own cosy little lovenest downstairs......

wilbur · 20/01/2004 13:30

genghis

Carla · 20/01/2004 13:37

Anyone else think that Edie McCready is a dead ringer for Shirley Valentine? Twinkle in the eye and all?

JanHR · 20/01/2004 15:09

When I see Edie, I can't help think of Effie in High Road (played by the same person)

lazyeye · 20/01/2004 15:14

Does Miss Hoolie only own one set of clothes?
Josie Jump is too thin
Spencer is a crap painter - did you see that blinkin pipe tree......
Plummy is the best..song and all

I saw Penny in M&S in Newcastle (yes, she was in a wheelchair). After staring at her for 10 mins she smiled & waved. DS suitably unimpressed.

I love to be Suzie Sweet whiling away the days in her mad shop being mad

suzywong · 20/01/2004 15:16

Do you remember the one where Suzie Sweet dressed up as a Chaplin-esque clown?
It was really most disturbing.

bossykate · 20/01/2004 16:55

am i the only one who can't stand balamory?

elena2 · 20/01/2004 17:03

I LOVE PC BUM, I mean PLUM!!!

He does a mean boogie!
