Can I join in? I only noticed this thread just now. I'm currently 13st1lb (hangs head in shame) but on the positive side my highest weight ever has been 15st3lb, and this time last year I weighed 14st8lb. Since I had a baby about 11 weeks ago and am still breastfeeding, I'm going to be on a "eat slightly less than normal and more healthily, but still have a reasonable calorific intake" diet. If I don't make the 1 stone loss it is not a big deal to me, as long as I finish up a bit lighter than when I started. Need to continue the downward trend (which seems to have stopped over the past month or so, and thus needs concentrating on.) Incidentally I am 5'3" - so a bit of a porker. And REALLY fed up of it (was a small size 10 when I met my husband 9 years ago. It is ALL his fault....)

emmatmg · 02/01/2004 16:37

Didn't get to the scales today......DS1,2,3 and DH just couldn't survive in the house without me for those 30 minutes it takes me to get to the shops and back.
ANNOYED? ANGRY? MAD? PI$$ED OFF?
Yes all of the above. I'll try again tomorrow but if the house falls down or something similar then the last time I wieghed my self I was 10st 3lb, but that was a few weeks ago now.

Ooh I'd like to be in on this - but how much is a stone in kilos? no honestly I haven't lived in this country long enough to get my head around imperial measurements. I am 65 kg at the moment, used to be 57 before baby, and 52 before I moved to the UK (the weather scared me out of jogging 4 times a week). I've just tried with an internet converter thing and it looks like 65 kg is 10.24 stone. Will check later as various relatives are queuing for bathroom where scales are (baby born a week ago, house invaded).

codswallop · 02/01/2004 18:57

are you bf?

if so you arent allowed to join

OP posts:
marsup · 02/01/2004 18:59

but forgot to mention I WILL be eating the swiss chocolates my MIL brought, ok? I'm breastfeeding so that will have to be my excuse...

marsup · 02/01/2004 18:59

ooops codswallop our posts crossed. Why no b/feeders allowed? Surely I can lose some weight over the next months?

princessinapeartree · 02/01/2004 19:04

my target weight is under 9 stone... nearer 8.5 please.
you are forgetting that I am completely flatchested and you are blessed with a fine pair of bristols, so you are at least half a stone ahead of me on that front (no pun intended) alone!

never weighed more than 8.5 stone unless pregnant or post-natal...

codswallop · 02/01/2004 19:05

god 8 stone 5 - are you sure?/ what are you again?

OP posts:
codswallop · 02/01/2004 19:05

Have only just discovered this thread and, along with thousands of others, my new years resolution is to lose pregnancy weight. Youngest DD is 15 weeks and although I started off well, Christmas saw my weight shoot back up (I just can't resist thos yummy tins of choccy biscuits).

Is it okay to join in too? I weighed myself this morning - 11.7, which is shocking. Height is 5'8". Pre-preg I was 10 stone, fit and toned. So I am aiming to get back to 10 stone. I am going on holiday at beginning of May so that is my goal.

I think having support of other people doing it too is an excellent idea.

I am doing good old fashioned calorie counting. Will people be letting others know what approach works for them? I did calorie counting after birth of DD1 ad it worked well.

codswallop · 02/01/2004 20:50

LOl mis measure myself and I was 8 feet ten!!

welcome ginge

emmatmg · 02/01/2004 21:06

Lisa78 · 02/01/2004 21:16

Oh dear not a good start today! The new scales just weighed me at 5 stone... Hmm, rather drastic weightloss.
Oh and we went to see Lord of the Rings today, via the eat as much as you like buffet at Pizza hut... 9 slices, hangs head in shame - but each had fruit or veg on, and I had a salad too...
