Advertised stuff, sold 2 items out of 14 Angry.
One item - unable to contact buyer, disappeared of the face of the earth so having to do a non-paying buyer dispute. Second item - lost in the bl**dy post. Angry Angry Angry
I'm not going to bother next time - just take it down the charity shop, it ain't worth the hassle.
Rant over!

i hate ebay at the moment too - great for buying stuff.... most of the time.

Bought an all in one printer off some bloke on the 1st March and STILL Waiting for it.... going through paypal to get get it sorted, but still no luck!

try a car boot sale next time - we did quite well on sunday with ours

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 14:30

Read my rant from yesterday, of the buyer who called me a LIAR and said I advertised a bag as leather when it wasn't.

I can't be bothered anymore, either.

I'm thinking boot sale as well, JARM, thanks for the idea!

Mumbojumbo · 21/03/2006 14:32

Ebay is the pits, I've rapidly come the the conclusion. Luckily I got the parcel insured, but I have to wait 15 days before I can claim. Could really do without the hassle.
I think I will be carbooting when the weather is a bit warmer! :)

EPIS - that exact thing happened to me a little while ago. Wonder if it were that same person!

staceym11 · 21/03/2006 15:00

i very nearly had a problem with a woman about some maternity clothes, but i requested her contact info from ebay and it had her phone number, she got a copy too and soon emailed me to tell me she'll send it later today! thank you problem solved!!

dont think i could sell on it tho, a bit much hassle!!!

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 15:12

MDB, this buyer buys NOTHING but handbags. I use the same ID for ebay that I use here, you're welcome to check Wink up and see if it's the same person.

Thing is, she's LYING. That bag is real leather.

She just thought I'd ante up w/a refund. I wound up spending an extra 96p on postage to get it to her than I charged. I was also pretty new to it all, and foolishly left her positive feedback as soon as she paid up.

Well, sorry, but 1) the bag is just as I advertised it 2) I spent the money already and can't afford to refund her.

If she'd just told me the bloody truth - that she doesn't like the bag, that'd be different, but calling me a liar? No can do.

Filyjonk · 21/03/2006 15:37

I'm peed off with paypal. their fees are just obscene. I just sold £10 worth of stuff and have a bill for £4.47 in paypal. not itemised or anything. hmmm.

misdee · 21/03/2006 15:44

i am waiting for an echeque to clear for some items i sold on the 12th march. says it should clear today. i hope so, cos i want this stuff out of myhouse!

spacecadet · 21/03/2006 15:49

i must admit, i get very cheesed off with ebay's seller fees.

gscrym · 21/03/2006 16:03

EPIS, I got that too. Can't remember what the person was called but I sent them a few messages saying I was happy to refund postage and purchase price. I never heard anything again. I thought the bag was leather, that's why I offered to refund. I would never knowingly sell anything to mislead a buyer.

Filyjonk · 21/03/2006 16:12

oh yes and my other bugbear is buyers who use a not specificed form of payment and don't even contact you to tell you they are doing it. I had one woman who just wasn't answering emails, was about to offer it as a second chance then suddenly a postal order arrives for the item, ffs, 10 days after the auction closed.

Worst of all because it was a PO I spent it. I'm trying to save.

misdee · 21/03/2006 16:16

i have requested invoices for 2 items, and am still waiting 2 days on. i had to remind a buyer this morning about an item that needs collecting this week (as am off next week) so they are coming tonight.

Kidstrack2 · 21/03/2006 16:35

so far haven't had any problems, but think i'll quit while i'm ahead, infact i won a great item the other day for dd she is Annabell mad, for £16.60winning bid i got Baby Annabell doll, its bouncy chair, its changing bag and 6 annabell outfits all bought at xmas time and the little girl wasn't interested in them but hey my dd will be interested, complete bargain!

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 16:45

i didn't just think it was leather, i KNOW it was. so see no reason why i sould even offer a refund. it was a tenner, too, b/c i was trying to get rid of it.

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 17:01

This gal is angling for a refund, but she's not getting it. I'm under NO obligation to refund her, and she thinks by lying b/c she can't sell the bag on for one reason or another - b/c it's so obvious this is what she is doing - that I'm going to spend a fiver in postage on a bag I already owned.

I told her if she's unhappy to complain to Ebay and leave me negative feedback, but I'd have preferred it if she'd been honest about not liking hte bag.

I know the difference between real and fake leather, ffs. She got a bargain - I paid a fortune for that thing and hardly used it.

She can go to hell b/c I'm done selling on there, anyhow.

bubblerock · 21/03/2006 17:28

Has anyone tried any alternative sites? Ebay totally monopolise the online auction market don't they?

\link{http://www.online-boot-sale.com/index.php\this} one is an online carboot site, haven't tried it but the concept looks good.

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 19:10

i am deleting my Ebay ID tonight. I'm completely but off by this lying b*&ch.

she continues to say it's not leather so she can get a refund.

well she can get stuffed, b/c she's lying.

starshaker · 21/03/2006 19:11

whats her id

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 19:23

'plumo2'. she buys NOTHING but bags. i started a thread on this last night, too. Sad

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 19:23

i sell and buy under the same ID i use here myself.

BadHair · 21/03/2006 19:31

Expat - don't worry about it. The liar-buyer is really not worth getting worked up about. You sold a genuine bag, you have the money, you are not in the wrong.
Just tell the liar-buyer to go through ebay if she wants a fight, then forget her 'cos that will stop her in her tracks.

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 19:37

I told her to 'do what she feels she must'. I wasn't nasty. She said I was being 'unreasonable'. What, for calling me a LIAR?

Whatever!

expatinscotland · 02/04/2006 16:52

PLEASE HELP!

this gal went thru paypal and took £7.32 that i had in there.

there's no more left in there. she wants anohter £5.00 back.

SHE LIED people! and now she's ripping me off.

fuck! i will NEVER, EVER use Ebay again.

i don't know what to do. i got onto paypal, but the only response it lets me do is add more funds.

i don't have any! i sold shit b/c i was skint.

HELP PLEASE!

misdee · 02/04/2006 17:01

oh no, i dont know what to do.someone will be along soon i'm sure.

JonesTheSteam · 02/04/2006 17:04

Sorry if I'm being thick (it's been a long day chez Jones!!) but I'm not sure I understand.

Did she hack into your Paypal account to take money or did Paypal refund her with money from your account?

Either way, definitely not on in my book!!!!
