just interested to know how often as I tend to do mine every 2 days but I know someone who only does them once a week. Am I too much or is she not enough?

I clean inside once every day or two - a good thorough clean every other day. And once a month put denture tablets down to give a sparkling clean (tip from how clean is your house!!)

Piffle · 01/03/2006 13:54

Depends our en suite one gets 2 x a wek as its used least and its me and dp and we're clean!
The one in the kids bathroom (used most by ds -12) needs doing every 2nd day
The downsstairs one needs a seat wipe every day and a brush and bleach every 3 days.
This is the toilet that dd - 3) uses the most, infact we all use it the most a its downstairs!
Too many toilets IMHO

I bleach the inside everyday, and clean the seat about 8 times a dayGrin still trying to teach Ds to aim.

spacecadet · 01/03/2006 13:57

spacecadet · 01/03/2006 13:58

omg, my typos!!!!!!!!!1Shock

Bozza · 01/03/2006 13:58

I'm with cece. Once a week as routine but the kid's bathroom in between after DS has been as required. DS tends to leave a mess because he doesn't sit far enough on.

mousiemousie · 01/03/2006 13:59

well does it really matter?

true Grin

DON'T ask about hoovering, dusting frequencies....

helsi · 01/03/2006 14:05

ok so I am worse than some but not as bad as others (mentioning no names) so I don't feel too bad now!

Socci · 01/03/2006 14:06

every other day

Auntymandy · 01/03/2006 14:07

When I feel like it.
Have anti bac wipes in the loo so wipe the seat quite often, especially after ds!!!!
Good clean weekly, wipe around now and then!

Bozza · 01/03/2006 14:07

That's me. Grin But we have 3 toilets so usage is spread out. Or is that a poor excuse?

Roobie · 01/03/2006 14:09

Give it a wipe round with disposable wipes several times a day. Get down on hands and knees with sponge and cleaning fluid to clean whole thing ....errrrr Blush usually when someone is coming round or I am having a real blitz on the house.
It tends to stay clean anyway because of manic use of wipes.

FrayedKnot · 01/03/2006 14:09

oh dear Blush once a week thoroughly with bleach etc. although would clean inbetween if they obviously needed it.

DS still in nappies so perhaps that will change when he starts using them.

every day seems a lot.

juliab · 01/03/2006 14:10

OK but how many of you have those little mat things around your loo to catch drips?

I do inside and seat at least once a day. The floor and outside at the min is about 4 times a day due to newly trained 2yr old. Used to do the outside and floor twice a week. also use those germicidal flush things and smelly hanger.

lahdeedah · 01/03/2006 14:19

I am a slattern... Smile Scrub it maybe once a week, wipe the seat now and again, when it needs it. But my DD is still in nappies so as FrayedKnot says maybe this will all be different this time next year!

I was reading something about environmentally-friendly cleaning the other day and it said that we all put far too much toxic stuff down our toilets - they actually don't need it as the regular flush of water is enough to keep bacteria to a minimum. All it needs is a regular wipe with a multi-purpose cleaner, and occasionally a bit of vinegar left in the bowl overnight to shift limescale.

Now pedestal mats are a different matter - nasty ugly bacteria breeding grounds. YUk!

QE2 · 01/03/2006 14:23

Once a week if they're lucky. Have 3 toilets and a toddler clinging to my leg and a dh who sleeps during the day (works nights) which makes anything more regular virtually impossible.

Same with kitchen floor - it often gets to the point where we try to make out faces in the grime before it gets mopped.

Blush
donnie · 01/03/2006 14:39

I don't actively clean them but I do pour bleach down at least once a day as I can't bear the lingering smell of poo! I wipe the seats with an anti bacteriala wipe 2/3 times weekly and I got rid of the smelly pedestal mats .....yuk!

cece · 01/03/2006 14:44

QE2

Isn't it more satisfying to clean once something is dirty rather than before it is dirty!?

LOL about kitchen floor - sound familiar!
