If anyone wants to email me - I have got a list of foods you can and can't eat on the detox - I did Carol Vordemanns though.

melsy · 11/12/2003 21:34

Thank u Sonnet for your welcome.

I have just ordered Book FAT GIRL SLIM , and will let u know what I think. My husband is great chef although amatuer and I have to ask him to not make so many cheesy creamy yummy things. So I thought I would buy this book to encourage him to join in with me.

Have eaten BAD stuff today - chicken satay for lunch - is the peanut sauce fattening? Made up for it at sisters tea , as did not have any biscuits -VERY GOOD IF I SAY SO MYSELF!!! Dinner was onion soup with french bread and melted cheese . OOOPPPS . Will have to count up those points now and check the damage!!!

Hi girls - hows it going??? Dont want to get obssesed , but bought my first ever scales today, as never had to diet in my whole life. Was always the opposite, doctors were always putting me on "Hi carb" diets to put on weight!!!!!!!

Dh will have to make sure I only check once a week. I have also set up a weekly chart on my Excel spreadsheet to count up points every day. Is that SAD????. Let me know if anyone wants me to email it to them. I cant believe I have even started planning restauarnt meals b4 I go , so I dont get in a tis and upset myself!!!!! Is it healthy to turn it into a project??

I have lost 23lbs since early September. I am dreading Xmas, as I am worried about losing control. I am the type of person who eats the whole larder if I fall off the dieting wagon!

Chinchilla, give yourself one week off to eat the larder, or from Christmas eve to New years day. Then get back to it the next day and don't weigh yourself for a week! I did a detox for the first week of the year and lost 6lbs so I didn't put on any over christmas!!

melsy · 16/12/2003 11:55

Would someone please give details of detox. Although having hard time keeping to 18 points a day let alone eating fruit and water for a week I assume?????

melsy · 16/12/2003 11:57

Must add, as need a boost, I have managed to get into a medium skirt today that I havent worn for over a year YEAH. Thje boost is needed as only have 4 points left for the rest of the day!!!! Thats for lunch and dinner . HHHHHMMM carrot for lunch, lettuce for dinner YUM!!!!

Sonnet · 16/12/2003 15:02

Hi Girls..
I havn't been able to log on for a while.
Melsey - you're doing well....
I've been very good on the exercise front but not too good on the food....well it is Xmas and I've got a full social life and that dosn't happen very often!!
DSW has been a great help - I will be starting a full dettox on 2nd Jan!!.
I am cutting out caffine and am down to one cup a day
i've been eating healthily on the whole but the odd chockie thing has crept in ( ie yummy choclate desserts that a friend made for the dinner party she gave - it would have been rude not too!)and unfortunalty wine has been flowing - less than usual but still there.
I have been runing another twice and went swinmming this lunch time....
How is everyone else doing?

dsw · 16/12/2003 15:09

I'm with Sonnet - will start detox 2nd Jan - can be my excuse for over doing it over Christmas.

The only pounds I will have lost before Xmas will be out of my purse!!

dejags · 16/12/2003 15:19

I have been lurking on this thread for a while. Just wanted to tell you about a site which I found fantastic after DS was born.

Pre DS I was about 9.5stone post DS I was A LOT more than that. I found this website which allows you to enter an on-line food diary. It calculates how many calories you are eating and what proportion of your diet is carb vs protein etc. I found it incredible and lost 15lbs in 7 weeks. It is really motivational by showing you how much you are losing on a weekly basis. I also found that being forced to keep a food diary I was a lot more aware of what I was eating.

Try it - its really cool
look here

crystaltips · 16/12/2003 17:30

Have lost 3lbs since this thread was started .... Went out at the weekend ( twice ) and decided to drive !! Says it all really ... but I am feeling rather depressed and down .... lack of calories probably !!

Degags - I know what you mean about recording your food. I have set up a spreadsheet to calculate points and show me what I have left for the week , (I know how SAD!!!), but It really makes me think about what I am eating. But worryingly I am feeling guilty about food & concerned it will start bad associations????

santafio2 · 17/12/2003 10:42

well i lost a pound, better than nothing and had a hell of a weekend

melsy · 17/12/2003 10:47

Well done santafio2!! How r u doing it????
