There ! I've done it .... I have formed a Gang !( something I have always wanted to do since childhood ).
It's based on another thread that harman started "I feel revolting!" ( COuld have written the post myself )

Can all those like minded sorts support one another and see what miracles we can acheive by Christmas ?? ... PLEASE as I really need the motivation ....

Thanks

I'd love to join......can do with hte motivation too...
Will browse amazon for the book beetroot mentioned but can't/don't want to wait till it comes to start. I have therefore decided to invest in the book for January 1st dettox...and in the meantime will:

  1. drink at least 4 pints of water per day
  2. Eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks in the form of fresh fruit
  3. reduce wine!! ( should give it up I suppose, but I know I'll fall off the wagon if I give everything up!!)
  4. NO Chocolate, cakes, biscuits, crisps....
  5. Try and fit in a bit of exercise on a daily basis eg today I went swimming at lunch time, tomorrow I am working from home therefore can fit in a brisk walk, Thursday, swimming at lunch time.

I have just re-read this and have impressed myself - the only thing missing is motivation and support.....so if you guys will help me I promise to be there for you all!!

Forestfly · 09/12/2003 16:51

Honestly i'll do it and try and motivate you, i really want a nice dress for new year, so lets start tomorow

crystaltips · 09/12/2003 16:59

Like the idea of starting tomorrow ... feeling rather hungover and have been eating lots today
Sonnet - you are sounding very organised, and realistic ...as I couldn't give up the wine all together

I'll follow your rules too !

Great Forestfly......

here's to us and all who join us!!

Sonnet · 09/12/2003 17:03

Great Crystaltips....
I may sound organised but lack the will power....hence why I joined this thread!!
so..I'm relying on you both to give me a good kick up the if I attempt to stray from the path. I work 3 days per week(Tues, wed, thur) and use to lane swim regularly at lunchtime. However, over the last 8 months that has gone by the wayside...I was determined to start again today. BUT if you hear me utter "it's rather cold out there", "feeling a bit tired" Please just shout at me to get in to the pool!!

SHIREENSMOM · 09/12/2003 17:05

ill join i need the motivation ive started doing 45 mins of exercise each day ie 30 mins walking and 15 mins situps is that enough

salt · 09/12/2003 17:07

I'll join. I need guidence and motivation... and a kick up the ass

august24 · 09/12/2003 17:38

just bought the detox book for 81 p on amazon.co.uk! It was in the used section and it costs 2.75 to ship... I am on bored...

crystaltips · 09/12/2003 17:45

DO we disclose our weight ?
Even though we are anonymous ... I feel rather reluctant to divulge exactly how fat I am !!
Now THAT IS insecurity !!

Forestfly · 09/12/2003 17:46

Why is it when you decide to go on a diet the next day, you make things harder for yourself. I've probably just put on two pounds thinking its my last night i won't be able to eat tomorow. Its madness, i'm eating things i don't even like

crystaltips · 09/12/2003 18:22

Just bought a couple of detox books on amazon too!

Sonnet · 10/12/2003 10:37

Harman, go girl go...whast better incentive do you need!!

How are we all feeling this morning???

With all the "do's" between now and Xmas giving up wines gonna be soooohard for me!!

Had low fat natural yogurt, muslie and a handfull of dried apricots for breakfast -felt quite good until i read Beetroots suggestion about giving up Wheat - I presume muslie (SP) has got wheat in?

I'm Working from home today and if I get done what \i need to this morning \i'm going for a very brisk walk at lunchtime!!

How are the rest of you feeling?

dsw · 10/12/2003 10:46

fio2 - I did the detox and then just drank wine at the weekend as a treat - admittedly drank lots but still felt better cause was being good in the week.

3GirlsMum · 10/12/2003 11:35

I really need to do something as well..I am in danger of turning into a computer potatoe and all these snacks etc whilst on here doesnt help at all!

Give up Alcohol! Ahhh....give up coffee! Even bigger AAAHHHH....does that mean give up all caffeine, what about my mocha coffee or hot chocolate at night .

Would love to lost 9lbs and try and pretend I look sylph like again...unfortunately think a few more pounds need shredding before we do that. Im all for it but dont ask me to disclose my weight...pleaseeeeee....!

3GirlsMum · 10/12/2003 11:35

Sorry meant to say before I do that!!

Harman I am a seefood addict. Its very dangerous for me to go shopping at the moment as all my favourites are in the shop and they just somehow find their way into my basket!!

Harman with that list of give ups you wont be eating much at this rate.

Just out of interest...of those trying to lose weight..do you all eat breakfast?
