welshboris · 27/02/2006 12:27

ring 0845 3021444

doormat · 27/02/2006 12:27

isnt form in your bounty bag from hospital
fill in and send off

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 27/02/2006 12:28

You usually get the form in your bounty pack, if not, pop into your local job centre plus - they have them there.

whimsy · 27/02/2006 12:28

The hospital gave me an info pack when we left.

ponygirl · 27/02/2006 12:29

There should be a form in the documentation from the hospital. If you had a home birth, shouldn't it come from your midwife?

Or \link{http://www.direct.gov.uk/Parents/YourMoney/YourMoneyArticles/fs/en?CONTENT_ID=10016699&chk=8zDeix\here.}

Congratulations, btw! Smile

spacecadet · 27/02/2006 12:29

soupy, if you havent already got an application form ring child benefit enquiries, and ask for an application form.

doormat · 27/02/2006 12:30

SoupDragon · 27/02/2006 12:30

Ah... homebirth so no Bounty bag! I knew I'd been given a form somehow with DS1 & 2.

Thanks :)

welshboris · 27/02/2006 12:31

SoupDragon · 27/02/2006 12:31

Oh b*gger - birth certificate?! I can't get one of those until 11th April which is the first appointment the registry office has!

OP posts:
doormat · 27/02/2006 12:32

soupy phone them up and let CB know this re birth certificate situation

welshboris · 27/02/2006 12:32

they backdate it

spacecadet · 27/02/2006 12:32

dont panic, you have up to 3 months IIRC, to claim.

misdee · 27/02/2006 12:32

11th april is my birthday..........

you mean to tell me because you had a secret homebirth then you didnt get your free bag of cr*p? what is the world coming to?

spacecadet · 27/02/2006 12:33

blimey thats a long wait.

LIZS · 27/02/2006 12:33

Make sure you claim asap in that case as they will only backdate up to 3 months. You could probably download the form.

Fimbo · 27/02/2006 12:34

I got a letter from them on Saturday advising of an increase - woopee and extra 75p per week for 2 children. Hang on until I think what to do with it.................Grin

SoupDragon · 27/02/2006 12:35

It is indeed a long wait. Apparently it's because there have been "a lot of births" in the area. I suspect it's more to do with cutbacks and a lack of staff.

It's very close to the 3 month deadline for backdating the claim (5th May)! Might have to phone and see what they suggest.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 27/02/2006 12:36

and no, I didn't get my bag of free crp. I'm actually rather disappointed - I like those bags of free crp, even if I throw it all away! Especially the little tubs of Sudocrem that are sometimes in them.

Sob!

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 27/02/2006 12:38

soupy, you do get the bouty bags with homebirths.
idid with ds2 and 3

prettybird · 27/02/2006 12:38

No appointment until 11 April! Shock

In Scotland you have to register the birth within twenty one days of the birth.

LIZS · 27/02/2006 12:44

don't you have to register within 6 weeks ?

misdee · 27/02/2006 13:05

the little tubs of sudocreme are the best, very handy.

vickiyumyum · 27/02/2006 13:18

ask your midife, she will brig you a bounty bag, or ring the hospital, explain you had a homebirth and you want your bounty bag, they will usually put one by for you or dh to collect.

last time i refused to leave until the bunty woman had been round, i wanted my bag of freebies and my cheap photos of baby.

but failing that as said ring the child benefit office and they will send you a form.

lunavix · 27/02/2006 13:33

You do have to register in 6 weeks else midwife can name sprog for you! So you should insist on an earlier apt saying your vindictive midwife wants to call the baby bananahammock or something...
