POP IDOL, anyone watch tonight? Darius, Rik and et al

Just finished watching Pop Idol. Big Rik was basically told he's too big to be an idol.

Darius performed again but I was most impressed by Aaron the lovely Geordie so he got my vote.

HURRAH!!!!!!! I was so excited at Will winning that I leapt up and spilt red wine all over my dad's new carpet!!!!! He was very understanding (and it is Scotchguarded!!!). I'm sooooooo happy.... but a "little" annoyed when the programme crashed!
As my sister said....it's the RIGHT result!!!!!

Was it really necessary to keep probing poor Gareth in the same manner and to act towards him like someone had just died? Most of us would have difficulty finding the right words at a moment like that, but that poor lad...and she was leaning right into his face. Yeuch.
And if I can be really unkind...what was going on with her hair??

Really pleased Will won, he definitely had the better voice. I think Gareth thought he had it in the bag though, and was really shocked when he didn't win. I agree about Kate Thornton, why not have just let Ant and Dec carry on seeing as they've been so good throughout? Oh no, what are we going to look forward to now on a Saturday night................

Yeah!! Well done Will!!!
Did anyone else think Kate thornton was totally bias towards Gareth.
She was creeping around him all night. And was virtually saying it should have been him who won.
Will gave a great performance and i will definitly buy the whole albulm.

But I did think Kate was looking a bit rough.

Totally agree about the Kate Thornton comments - as I am very sad I have been watchig Pop Idol Extra a lot, and she has completely got on my nerves all the way through - she's been like a supply teacher who's been being pally with all the kids and rude to the real teachers. I am sure that the judges all absolutely hate her. As for her dress sense, she seems to wear the height of fashion (victoriana blouses, split sleeve frocks etc) but no-one has told her they look terrible on her and to stick to something a bit more classic! I think she and most on the programme have been very Gareth-biased all the way through.

As a Will fan, I am DELIGHTED that he won, especially as I tried to get through to vote all night and found it completely engaged and never managed one vote at all, although I was planning to vote 10 times for him(I know how to spend a quid wisely!) The only thing that I am worried about is that he will end up some kind of Westlife clone - I hope to God that they let him be himself and allow him to have his quirks and his own expression as he has done all the way through. I read this morning that Gareth has been signed up to the same deal with Simon Cowell anyway, so hopefully they'll let Will develop his own style, as I think Gareth was what they wanted in the first place.

(Zoe now realises that she needs to get a life!!!)

Was convinced Gareth was going to win - hoorah for suprises! Kate T has to be the worst excuse for an interviewer going, she came across like an old lech and was frankly embarassing. Will looked deeply shocked by it all - bet the bookies are happy, apparently for every £1 spent on Will £6 was spent on Gareth. Have heard that Simon has signed up Darius too - and the gorgeous blonde bird who didn't make it to the final ten that was in Rick's group of ten.

So so happy Will won. Couldn't vote though as all lines were engaged all night and couldn't get on the net to vote either as I couldn't get connected. We were watching on satellite and heard our next door neighbours cheer when Will won and then seconds later they must have heard us cheer. Was convinced Gareth was going to win so it was a lovely surprise. dh was very happy as his football team won as well much to his surprise so for once all went our way! Agree with the Thornton comments though, it was cringeworthy.

I was pleased Will won, it was all down to us you know. I read today that Gareth is getting a contract with a record being released a couple of weeks after Will, what was the point of having a winner. And why have both records got cover versions of a Westlife record, were they both for Gareth?

As someone who has the misfortune to live in Bradford, I was disappointed Gareth didn't win but glad Will did as he is the better singer. By far. Gareth will still go on to success but he will always be known as the one who DIDN'T win Pop Idol.
As for Kate Thornton, I'd just like to ask her: How do you feel? No, really, I mean right now, how are you feeling? What emotions are going through your mind? What does it FEEEEEEEL like?

Now I'm even more excited. I'm going to the Pop Idol concert. Yes, yes, I realise how sad that is, but I don't actually care. I'm taking my sister along (she says she'll do it as a favour, but I know she's secretly quite pleased). It's on April 1st - can't wait

Callie, there are some tickets for sale on Ebay if your really keen. Can't say I'd want to go, but am very jealous of you mumsnetters with ITV1/2 who get to see all these other programmes on it. I am suffering serious withdrawal symptoms!
