POP IDOL, anyone watch tonight? Darius, Rik and et al

Just finished watching Pop Idol. Big Rik was basically told he's too big to be an idol.

Darius performed again but I was most impressed by Aaron the lovely Geordie so he got my vote.

But as Joe1 says, pray for another bomb after Darius. And yes, I would go for Simon before Gareth. Despite my confessed liking for young boys, I find Simon quite attractive - there's something about his face when he smiles!
Now where did I leave my life?

Crunchie - Will was very camp tonight - the way he skipped off the stage and kept doing little, jaunty head shakes. I think Darius will be out.

Please, please vote for Will and Darius. What's wrong with a bit of camp Val Doonican action? I'm pleased to say that I've voted for Will and Darius 3 times each tonight. It took some time, but I got through in the end. KEEP TRYING.
After all, this is very important, isn't it?.....

He's gone noooo. Oh well Will gets my vote next week. Has anyone noticed how small Gareth's ears are? A bit like a hippo's ears. I couldn't believe the judges - they said that Will and Gareth's songs were better but they're the ones who chose the songs. Was it a fix?

Am I missing something here? Gareth has such a weak, weebly voice, is it just the sympathy vote that gets him through each week?
Have to admit though that I rarely get a chance to see any of the program as I'm busy giving ds his bath and bedtime blitz. Caught Gareth singing "flying without wings" which I found surprisingly good, but missed all the rest til the results. Poor Darius!! Sad to see him go!

Have caught up on video and I definitely think it was Gareths best week, he sang both of those songs 'beautifully'! Maybe it made a difference that I watched after the boys were in bed for once and could actually hear.

I was amazed by how close the voting was for Will and Gareth at the end (38 and 39%, was it?). That'll shut up all the papers and surveys that say its a run-away winner. Mind you The Mail said yesterday that Darius would win.

I liked his phrase at the end, "this isn't the end, it's just the beginning" ......

PS: I like Will but I do think his brother (twin) is incredibly creepy. Anyone else think so?!

I want Will to win! I suppose he looks a little camp but I still fancy him
I thought Gareth was good this week but I wouldn't like him to win Pop Idol.
As for Simon I don't think you should be worrying about his jumpers so much as his high-waisted trousers!

I think it was a fix, the judges didnt give gareth an upbeat song because he cant sing then so well as the other two. If he wins we can look forward to ballard after ballard. Ill vote Will just because I dont want Gareth to win.

Joe1 I thought that odd too, I thought they were giving them a fast one with a ballad, like they have done before.

And after Gareths Wham rendition, we know its not exactly his strong point!

I agree that Wills brother is creepy, dodgy eyes. For weeks I was convinced he was Wills partner! Gareth definitely got off lightly singing ballads too. I think its monumentally unfair that Darius got voted off, even though I loathe him. It should have been Will and Darius in the final. Gareth should be in a boy band as he's not strong enough to be a solo artist. Hey ho.

I think Darius is the big winner because he is far more famous now then the other 2 are... also he will be taken seriously. I don't think Gareth will have a long career... a bit like all those pop idols. In that sense, Darius and Will have a greater potential.
Only time will tell.
Will you all call next Saturday or just moan on Mumsnet that your favourite hasn't won

Pupuce, it was at the end when Ant and Dec were standing either side of Will and Gareth, and saying the usual "see you next week etc, its closer than we thought" ...... and said the percentages then. Blink and you missed it with all the cheering and mega grinning going on!

So which way will the Darius voters go?

Hurrah the creep has gone. Yes I agree he has a great voice but he is so cheesy and nothing like a pop IDOL. Ithink the other 2 have greater versatility and staying power.
Will has been my favourite so far but Garath was great this week, Flying Without Wings made me cry! How sad is that?
I think Will is preparing to come out of his closet at the end - did anyone catch the comment a few weeks ago - when asked who he would like to have a drink with his answer was the Queen. Um, I wonder if his tongue may have been in his cheek.

It was sad but expected to see Darius go. I hope to see more of him - give him his own chat show I say, and he can sing a few numbers as well.
Gareth will win, Will is gay, and I must get on with the housework.

Ill vote Will, not that I think he should win but cant let Gareth. In the beginning they asked him if all he could sing is Westlife songs, yep looks like it, not very versatile. Lets vote Will. Or maybe one of them might fall ill and Darius will come back.
