POP IDOL, anyone watch tonight? Darius, Rik and et al

Just finished watching Pop Idol. Big Rik was basically told he's too big to be an idol.

Darius performed again but I was most impressed by Aaron the lovely Geordie so he got my vote.

Oh good other secret Darius fans! I think he is so nice, much better looking than the others, and so what about the cheese, at least he has a personality, unlike Gareth. However I was reading Heat magazine today and it said they feel sorry about the third person left alongside Will and Gareth this saturday as we already know the result! (at this point they didn't know Zoe had gone!)

Darius atleast looks manly, whereas the boyish good looks of Will and Gareth don't really do it for me. As for cheese, I get plenty in my diet thanks to good old Doc Atkins!

What a sad, sad, sad bunch we are! I'm totally hooked - what about that Darius hip wiggle! He seems like such a nice bloke now - not the arrogant git with terrible hair and beard that he was in Pop Stars, and he can cook!

It's a shame about Zoe and Hayley being voted off, it;s so obvious all the young teenage girls are doing all the voting - and Gareth is getting most of the votes, it's in the bag I think.

I'm finding myself strangely attracted to Darius (worrying!), but Will's been my fave ever since I heard him singing "Light my Fire". I totally agree that Gareth's voice is too weedy and weak, and I'll be soooooo annoyed if he wins by getting the sympathy vote.
I thought Simon Cowell was going to cry last week - he looked really sad all the time.

I dont think Gareth will win on the sympathy vote, I think he will win because he is to a teenage girl, a POP IDOL. He has the face that adorns many a bedroom wall, a cute grin etc and a cute voice. That is what they were after, and the teenage girls are voting in their millions.

Those of us with a bit more taste and musical style prefer Will, as he is different and can really put a bit of welly into a song. I agree with Jessy Id buy his song 'aint no sunshine' too.

Really bad timing that Robbie has recently released his album of swing songs, as that could have been made for Will (as I think judge Pete also mentioned).

Good on Darius for getting this far, but I dont think he will win, although I'm sure the Tom Jones song last week made him pip Zoe to the post. Without the cheese he is fine, he has really tamed that, and is reaping the benefits.

Anyway yes Im addicted and I am hoping my friends who are coming for dinner on the final night are too!!!

I really want Will to win as he is the most talented. But Iam afraid I think Garath will win for the same reasons Ems said.

The problem is how can he be a pop idol if he cant talk. He will be required to do LOTS of interviews and performing in concerts isnt just about singing. Its also about talking and interacting with audience. I just don't Know how he will cope. On saturday they were all required to talk inbetween their two songs and garath just couldnt do it.

The bit of the show I hate the most is when Gareth is being interviewed by Ant and Dec. I just feel so sorry for him. Imagine his mum in the audience.

Im going to vote this week for the first time, for Darius, lets get rid of Gareth, lets all the Mumsnetters vote.

I used to love Will but I've now got a bit silly about it all and want Darius to win. I'm sure Will will get a contract anyway. He's got a great voice but he's started to irritate me with his posh-boy wide-eyed-ness.

I agree about it being painful watching Gareth being interviewed. Apparently, Ant & Dec go through the questions with him on a Saturday afternoon, so that he's as prepared as possible.
Don't you just love them? Have you noticed how upset Dec always looks after the "loser" is announced?

Dec is my fave. But personally I just can't wait for big brother to start again!
I also think that Darius is putting on a big act. He can't go ,surely, from "feeling lurvve in this room"to the normal way he is acting now.
If he wins I feel the true Darius will be revealed and his full cheesiness will explode.

I think Dec is my fave, but I find it v hard to remember who is who! As to being 10 years younger - does anyone else find themselves lusting over "young boys" now they're into their 30s? (Not that I'd really be interested in a 17 yr-old, but like looking)!

Is this the darius fanclub? I must be the only person who doesn't want him to win. My votes going to will. Pop idol has got me hooked,i like nothing better than staying in and disagreeing with simon,foxy and pete! and i really get excited when the phone lines open! oh! how my life has changed since becoming a mum!

I love Ant and Dec. Ant is my favourite. My dh actually likes them as well which is pretty amazing considering what football team they support!

ok, I'll vote this week, to try and counter the teenage Gareth thing. My vote goes to Will and to Dec (although Ant's quite cute too) God and I'm over 40!!

I'm going to vote Darius, aside from teh fact I really fancy him (even in his popstars days I was a secret Darius fancier). But we all need to vote for Darius to get Gareth off!!

My husband told me that that when Ant and Dec appear on the TV they always, always appear "Ant" and then "Dec" - that's how I finally could tell them apart!

Darius is wonderful! My three year old will tell anyone: "Mummy says Darius is gorgeous but daddy says he's horrible."
I've been totally hooked since day one of POP IDOL and I also sadly watched all of Soapstars, Popstars, Survivor etc etc.
Gareth will probably win and I guess that's ok cos he's from Bradford (where I unfortunately live) which is a dump so it would bring some cheer to this otherwise miserable city.
But I hope Darius goes on to great things - and Will too, and many of the others. It's time we put the likes of Cilla Black, Denis Norden, Jimmy Tarbuck, Bruce Forsyth and Noel Edmonds out to pasture and let some new, young and talented people take their places.
In the meantime, let's hear it for DARIUS!!!!

I don't find Darius REMOTELY sexy, Will has to put a horrible 'Curiosity Killed the Cat' kind of inflection into every song and he reminds me of Robbie Williams so 2 BIG downsides to him. Think Gareth is putting it on a bit but that might just be me being cruel! However, Simon Cowell! Now, he IS sexy.
