How do you clean the ruddy things?

Ours looks absolutely disgusting.

I binned my brabantia bin, worst bin i'd ever had. How the f*ck do you get the bag out?

crazydazy · 20/02/2006 19:09

Must admit Tinker I have had problems extracting the bag from inside, had to ask for DP's help because it was jammed and so heavy - it then turned out that the night before he had filled it with Stell bottles which is why it was so heavy

You see if we had been supplied with a bottle bin this could have been avoided.

I think I've had too much Stardrops.

crazydazy · 20/02/2006 19:10

Ooops should be Stella, see I am drunk.

scatterbrain · 20/02/2006 20:02

Oh -- Lakeland sell these fab things to stick on the inside of the bucket and it helps the bag slide out - stops it forming a vacuum or something !! Ours usually sticks coz I have stuffed too much in and pressed it down rather than emptying it !

Hattie05 · 20/02/2006 21:34

The best things come to those who wait!

Thats what i tell dp when he's frustratingly trying to yank the bag out the bin. If you just lift it and wait the bin drops away eventually without ripping the bag!

I told you i was a domestic goddess

iota · 20/02/2006 21:36

I tie the bag and turn the bin upside down over a black sack - the tied bag slides out neatly into teh black sack - dead easy when you know how

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 20/02/2006 21:43

eco cloths. any excuse I wax lyrical about them. there are SOOO good you wander round your house looking for stainless steel to polish, well, unitl the novelty wears off. Brabantia are great at customer service btw - our lid broke, dh tried to mend it thus invalidating the guarantee - which I was happy to accept, ok it shouldn't have broken but dh shouldn't have made it worse with superglue - I emailed them explaining and asking if was possible to buy just a lid as didn't want to have to buy a whole replacement and they sent one through the post. no proof or purchase asked for, no quibbles about dh and his superglue. was most impressed

Hattie05 · 20/02/2006 21:46

PMSL

NBG i've had a reply have you?

"A replacement lid will be sent to you under the terms of the Brabantia guarantee
and to help us identify the correct size and colour - please confirm the follow
details regarding your Touch Bin:"

They are offering me a lid but i wanted a pedal! and its not a touch bin its a pedal bin!!!

D'you think they perhaps get lots of complaints about broken lids

Nbg · 20/02/2006 22:01

Really!!!

I will check now.

OP posts:
Hattie05 · 20/02/2006 22:14

.................have you been offered a lid?

Nbg · 20/02/2006 22:15

No nothing!

The cheeky gets!!!

BRABANTIA SUCK!!!!!

Maybe tomorrow.

OP posts:
Hattie05 · 20/02/2006 22:16

lol, have you tried writing to your fireplace manufacturer? Tell them that sucks and see what they can do for you .

Nbg · 20/02/2006 22:18

I meant that they haven't replied.

Didn't explain that too well did I.

I should write to the previous owners and say
"What on earth were you on?"

OP posts:
Hattie05 · 20/02/2006 22:27

No i took that to mean they havn't replied.

I'm never one to write and complain about something, things normally just get chucked out when they stopped working. I may just start a hobby of writing to manufacturers to complain and see what i get .

Currently looking around to see what i can complain about.

Disappointed in my carpets cos they don't keep as clean as i would expect?

My kitchen doesn't look as new and shiny anymore like the one in the catalogue. Is that false advertising?

What do you think?

Laura032004 · 21/02/2006 09:54

Oooh - I saw this thread, and have emailed them about my faulty bin lid - they emailed back this morning, and have offered a replacement We bought ours about 6 yrs ago!

alliep30 · 21/02/2006 10:38

another triumph on the thread of bins.. what shall we open to celebrate this time?

Nbg · 21/02/2006 15:36

I'm really cheesed off.

I still haven't had a reply

and I emailed them before you two

I'll be even more cheesed off if they don't offer a replacement too!

"well, i clean my brabantia bin with my magnificent muff"

Hattie05 · 21/02/2006 16:48

Nbg they havn't responded today, since i told them i wanted a pedal not a lid .

Its probably had to be handed to the Executive pedal department for thorough investigation. Perhaps your email was read correctly in the first place and therefore sitting on the Executive pedals desk also!

alliep30 · 21/02/2006 16:48

i hope they haven't been filed under "b" for bin...or placed in the round file....

Hattie05 · 21/02/2006 16:50

no need to be smug, just cos you have a fully working, walking talking polished bin.

All i want is a pedal!
