Caligula · 20/02/2006 16:44

Ah but twice a week. So possibly not hanging around long enough to start whiffing.

Hattie05 · 20/02/2006 16:44

I dislike the expense of the bin bags - and not widely sold. But they are nice and tidy! and thus is important in the kitchen of a domestic goddess.

Tee hee

Never thought a bin could be such fun to discuss!

alliep30 · 20/02/2006 16:45

i'm such a saddo.. which household object can we debate next? how about loo brushes... unhygenic or not?

Hattie05 · 20/02/2006 16:46

gross, don't have one dislike them, yuck yuck yuck!

Nbg · 20/02/2006 16:46

I used to buy the proper ones religiously until I figured out the only place I could buy them was House of Fraser and for stupid price so now we just use black bags.

iota · 20/02/2006 16:47

Tescos do a white bin bag that fits the 50l spring top perfectly -- they are the drawstring ones

alliep30 · 20/02/2006 16:48

bog brushes are minging

Caligula · 20/02/2006 16:48

Loo brushes - the devil's work.

iota · 20/02/2006 16:48

alliep30 · 20/02/2006 16:49

iota · 20/02/2006 16:50
Grin
Caligula · 20/02/2006 16:50

iota - do you empty it more than once in a week? And if not, does it smell?

[obsessive scarey fixed stare icon]

crazydazy · 20/02/2006 16:50

Oh but Hattie they are not just any bin -they are BRABANTIA bins. I always wanted one and finally talked DP into buying one when we had a new kitchen fitted and the bin was going to be "on show". I couldn't have just any bin oh no, no, no.

Everyone comments on it though when they visit

Nbg - We have a shop called "The Range" which sells just about everything for the house and they sell them, they are 2 quid for 8 though, very pricey!!!!

Hattie05 · 20/02/2006 16:51

Yeah but Woolies isn't posh - that gives her away!

Nbg · 20/02/2006 16:51

Another show off.

Bugger off with your 70 quid sparkling clean bin

Thats my bin too Iota!!! [gets all excited]

See how proud it stands

iota · 20/02/2006 16:52

caligula - I refer you to my earlier answer:

what do you put in your bin that smells?

or is that a personal qu?

Th eworst thing that goes in mine is stale catfood [bleugh] and I put that in a used carrier bag before chucking it in the bin

we usually empty ours about twice a week - it would be substantially less if my kids cleared their plates at meal times or we had a food waste recycling scheme

crazydazy · 20/02/2006 16:53

I think we bought ours from Argos it was on sale at £60 reduced from £80

Had to have it though.

iota · 20/02/2006 16:54

we didn't pay those prices for ours - can't remember where we got it but bought it online - I just use the fisrt link I googled for teh picture

Caligula · 20/02/2006 16:55

The main ingredients of my rubbish bin would be left over food. I recycle or compost everything else, so nothing to soak up pongy food smells.

iota · 20/02/2006 16:55

ooh you canget a matt alack one from amazon for £59.97 here

iota · 20/02/2006 16:56

Caligula - try bagging it first in an old carrier bag - works on my catfoood

iota · 20/02/2006 16:57

my mum chucks food scraps on the garden for the birds - dh wouldnt puit up with that in our tiny garden, but teh cat would appreciate it
