I guess you'll spend quite a lot of time taking her there and picking her up again for the foreseeable then! Is she excited? Have you had to practice taking clothes off/putting them on and all that jazz?

Yes holiday is definitely looked forward to - no laptops either, hurrah!

bebejones · 18/09/2012 23:32

I'll be a human yoyo for the next month pretty much! P is really excited! She can't wait to see her friends, some of them she's not seen all summer and 9.5 weeks is a long time for a miniature human! Wink We have had a few trial runs with the uniform but found out today that they won't do PE properly (ie. Get changed etc) until after half term! She looks so sweet in her uniform, all grown up but still so small!! Sad

My mum is coming up for a few days at the beginning of Oct and my grandma has decided to gatecrash! This has thrown up a whole new set of problems involving a bus, her health, and 3+hours of driving! My mum is being too soft and won't tell her 'no!' It's driving me bananas!

No laptops?!! How will you survive?! Grin

DH and I have been known to have a conversation on messenger from different rooms in the house! Blush

Quodlibet · 19/09/2012 16:52

How did it go?? Did MiniBebe enjoy herself?

bebejones · 19/09/2012 20:52

All went very well! She had a great time! No tears at all... Not even from me! Grin She is very excited to go again! Wonder how long that'll last? Hmm

Quodlibet · 19/09/2012 22:31

Ahhh great to hear! You've clearly made a confident little girl who's ready for the next challenge - you should be proud of her.

nannyl · 20/09/2012 14:22

Hello all

bebe great to here that the wait is over and P has finally started big school (love the FB pics) Hope she enjoys today as much as yesturday!

Quod have a lovely holiday n France. time chilling just the 2 of you sounds like bliss!

LAHG, love the E language!
now we both have 1 year olds!!!! where has the time gone?

I now have a 1 year old who can (finally) pull herself up to standing to get stuff and who does naughty things with a very serious face, saying no, and shaking her head, while carrying on doing exactly what she knows she mustnt!

We have also almost officially dropped down to 1 nap a day Sad (miss my hour in the morning to sort washing / do dishwasher and get ready for the day!)

We have had a busy week, with both of our birthdays, and hosting NCT party, but now i suddenly feel so relaxed.... our summer of madness is over (phew)... and we have no more weddings / weekends away / holidays / house moves.....
Im looking forward to some months of just "normal day to day life"!

I also got a birthday present of... AF!!!!!! yup.... it took 365 days, but finally it arrived... A got a birthday present of 2 top teeth too, so we had some nights of limited sleep.

We have also decided, that we are going to wait til december and try for a 2ish year age gap.... i feel i need a bit of time not doing anything and also not having another HG pg. So we will see what happens then, but am making the most of caffeine and wine before i give it up again in a few months time.

Quodlibet · 23/09/2012 10:04

It's so quiet on here! Where is Harpie? Where is Minipie? Where is Strawberry? :(

Nannyl it sounds like youve made peace with the when to TTC decision which is great. A sounds like she must be great fun at the moment. I'm glad you are over the manic summer too - mine was a bit like that (but without a baby in tow obvs!)

LAHG how has your week been? How many weeks are you now?

bebejones · 25/09/2012 10:27

Hope those MIA are ok? If you are lurking please let us know how you are!!

Its tricky to post so much while P is still at home a lot! On my phone now so can't see (or remember) what's been said! Will try and pop back later! Smile

minipie · 25/09/2012 10:43

hello! I'm still here... got nothing to report really, bump is growing and I'll be 30 weeks on Friday EEEK.

nannyl happy birthday to you and A! sounds like she is making great progress on the standing and teething, hope the teeth calm down for you. 2ish year age gap sounds good, I have a friend with babies 21 months apart and she slightly wishes she'd waited a few more months so the eldest was a bit further on, so based on that single anecdote it sounds like a good decision to me!

bebe woo for mini person starting big school! how did time pass so fast... The staggered start does sound like a complete pain, how is that supposed to work for mums who WOH fgs? Have you got a picture of her in uniform, I bet she is adorable...

Quod when is your RED ALERT 2ww up? have my fingers crossed for you. let me know of any symptoms and I'll start exercising the elephants Wink

nannyl · 30/09/2012 21:14

Hello

Wow 30 weeks minipie..... for me those last 10 weeks seemed to whizz by in fastforward speed. Enjoy the peace! Have you started packing your bags yet?

LAHG loved your scan pic on FB

when does minibebe get to go to school fulltime?

Lots seems to have happened here... Anneka went on nursing strike last Sunday.... she just went mad when i offered her her feed and has never fed since Sad I was devestated about it, but getting over it now. (still have milk in me though)

Just as i thought i was having a peaceful few months things change. OH got an email about an Oxford alumini dinner so we are off to oxford in October, and my Mum is coming to babysit

and then (sadly) my Dad seems much worse and we think the time to admit him to a home is here / very fast approaching, so at the end of next week im going back down south for a week to try and find a suitable home Sad. The thing is he is only 61, and i really really dont want him in a home full of 90+ year olds. NOT looking forward to it at all..... and it will then have to lead to clearing his (ie my family) home, either to rent it or sell it [sad Sad Sad. Will be a nightmare as its 250 miles away, and my sister works all the hours god sends (almost)

Oh and then..... hmmm.... im an whispering this... this is NOT for FB or anywhere other than here..... i think i was ovulating for the first time yesturdayish.... well today we had contraception failiure.... so Im now on a 2ww to find out if im pg again. As much as i would love to be, now i have got my head around waiting until Xmas ish (and having a sick free Christmas) I dont think i actually want to be..... but it happened super fast last time. What will be will be, and i dont know how i feel about either outcome really. Confused

Hope everyone is doing ok, and enjoying the cold and rain, lol!

Quodlibet · 02/10/2012 20:44

Oooh Nannyl look at you injecting some excitement back into the thread with your 2WW!

No excitement over here I'm afraid...AF turned up on holiday. Boo. And this month DP is away during OV so unless I go to Belgium it ain't gonna happen. Grrrrr. Thanks for keeping the elephants amused though Minipie.

How is everyone else?

LookAtHerGo · 03/10/2012 05:07

Good morning!!!!

Pregnancy induced insomnia means I can't sleep after being woken by E coughing like mad :( so instead of lying in bed feelingvsorrybfor myself I thought I'd catch up :)

quod how is your niece? Sorry you've not hit the big BFP this month and that you have a doubtful month this month.

bebe how is school going, have you noticed any difference in her by going to school?

nannyl you took a lot longer than me for your period to return, mine were back at 17 weeks. Yes the year has gone fast, it's amazing to think of the difference between how they are now and how they were not that long ago. Kind of keeping fingers crossed for your 2ww and no HG this time, I didn't get the HG this time, and considering it's twins that's quite amazing. I know it's hard when they stop feeding, but in a way it's good she's done it herself and it's not been hard for her to stop, E just went off it one day, I had been trying to gradually reduce it and increase formula because of being pg but she refused one day and the same the next and that was it.

Aw mini 30 weeks, cool stuff, how are you feeling?

Well I'm 21 weeks now! Had my scan last week and it looks like there are 2 little boys in there! I'm finding it so much harder physically this time, but then E is extremely active, climbing, into everything and I'm not really getting the rest I need, but it's great :) I have babies in my belly! I would love a day off though, one where I could lounge in bed all day and not have to lift a finger! No chance of that so power through! The boys are starting to get a lot more active, or rather I'm feeling them a lot more now, it's cool to feel them when I'm stood or even in the car moving:)

Work stuff, well Friday nights are a killer after having been up all day with E then working till 2 but I'm finishing in about 8 or 9 weeks and I don't have too many Fridays to do between now and then thanks to a load of leave I've got and still got left to take. :)

Right I'm going to try and get some shut eye before the day starts for real.

LookAtHerGo · 03/10/2012 05:10

Oops, that's what happens when the site goes off line and you refresh!

minipie · 03/10/2012 11:04

hello all! nanny no I haven't packed a bag - in fact I haven't bought most of the stuff for it yet! (been focusing on the fun bits like prams rather than the boring bits like maternity pads!) had reckoned on doing that at about 35/36 weeks, is that too late?

So sorry to hear about your dad worsening, 61 is young Sad, such a hard situation. My BF's dad has recently moved into a care home, and it's been a bit rocky to start (one home was unsuitable so he moved) but he now seems fairly settled, and it does give her mum much more of a life so maybe that will be a silver lining for your family?

Oo-er on the accidental TTCing... I shall watch with bated breath!

quod sorry about AF, and on holiday too how rubbish. (My AFs always seemed to be really badly timed when we were ttcing - I had several on holidays, and one arrived on Christmas Day Hmm) How long has it been and are you feeling impatient or still quite chilled about it? You have been a lot less mental impatient about it than I was!

LAHG wow two boys! Very cool Grin! I can imagine it must be hard hard work with E and a twin pregnancy, can't believe you're working as well! do take care of yourself and stuff yourself with vitamins, and use those days off work to do as little as possible!

nannyl · 03/10/2012 13:48

hello

Quod another sorry about BFN, and agree even worse to get it on holiday.

LAHG, wow what a time to be mumnetting Shock. sounds like all is good, and you are taking it all in your stride. Yes this year has whizzed by so fast. Luckily for me A cant climb yet but she is pulling herself up to standing on everything, and is managing some spectacular falls; poor thing. Oh well, she will soon learn im sure, meanwhile im happy with her remaining with her feet on the ground!
Im amazed that you can look after a baby all day then work until 2am Shock. that would knacker me now, and im not even growing 2 humans inside me!!!!

Minipie im sure waiting a while to buy boring stuff will be fine lol, at least it would be for most people, and on the off chance you had baby early, well there are loads of 24 hour tesco's etc hey!
I dont think i actulally finished packing my bags until beyond 37 weeks!

No major news here... I spoke to my Dads mental health nurse yesturday, and she believes that there is a chance he just may be able to stay in his own home a while longer, maybe even a year, but she agrees now is the time to find and choose the home as many have waiting lists, so he needs to be on the one we want... also things can change quickly, and it could be much less than a year... who knows.

Otherwise no news really.... I certainly dont feel pg, and i (think i) am hoping i am not at this moment in time.

LookAtHerGo · 05/10/2012 17:51

Just a very quick message, does anyone want a copy of finding nemo on DVD. I've got a spare copy. If I've heard nothing by Monday I'll put it up for others.

LookAtHerGo · 09/10/2012 19:48

Mini, I think I had kind of packed my bag at 34 weeks when I had a scare with high BP, I reckon you should kind of aim for about then, but not be too worried if it's not done then. I had a list ready of things I needed to put in and so even if things hadn't been put in the bag I could say we needed x, y or z. However for this time, I am supposed to have my bag ready at 30 weeks!!!!! Erm Shock Hard to do as little as possible, E is such an active girl, sometimes it's easier to take her out places, especially as she is happy in the pushchair and I don't have to keep getting up and down every 5 minutes. Although we've moved the living room around a bit and created more space and she is very happy just walking around and around with various toys, usually chewing on a toy at the same time!

nanny, it knackers me to be honest the working till 2am, but I'm keeping my sights firmly on the fact I've only got a few shifts to do before I can finish and if it does get too much then I will speak to my line manager and ask for different hours. Having said that I think I have 8 shifts left to do and only 3 of them are fridays, which is when I struggle the most as I have E all day, at least on a saturday I can rest as much as I need to.

E has learnt a new trick, she can now nod her head, and has taken to walking around the living room and everywhere else nodding. We went to a twins group this morning, have made a new mum friend who I had met once before, she has twin girls about a month older than E and she has been lovely :) So I popped along to the group that is on every week and met a few others, although I didn't chat to many and couldn't stay long as I had swimming, it is a lovely group and one I WILL be going to at the beginning of the year :)

bebejones · 10/10/2012 17:31

I'm hovering, I'll try and catch up later! Miss you guys!! Wink

strawberrypie · 11/10/2012 20:24

Hi everyone, all is well here, not getting much time to get onto MN but am still reading when I can :)

Leftwingharpie · 12/10/2012 12:27

Er hello! I don't know what happened to me, I seem to have dropped off the virtual planet for weeks - sorry I haven't been keeping up with the thread. I have spotted that LAHG is having boys - congratulations! and that Nannyl is on an impromptu 2ww - but I'll have to read through everyone's news over the weekend and get properly updated. My news is that we're expecting a boy as well - just the one though!

minipie · 12/10/2012 12:53

Congrulations harpie! All ok at the 20 week scan I hope? Any thoughts on boys' names?

Eeek on hospital bag by 34 weeks - that's 2 weeks' time! Still loads of stuff I need to get, though I do now have glamorous items like maternity pads and nipple cream (joy!) Have finally chosen a pram, now just trying to find the best deal...

Good that you have found a nice group and made a mum friend LAHG, I am hoping to do the same - I have a couple of friends who'll be on maternity leave overlapping me, and my mum nearby, but the more the better I think.

Hope everyone is well.

nannyl · 12/10/2012 21:17

Hello

Congratulations harpie. you and LAHG are team blue lol.

thought i ought to update you on my lack of news.... I have had 3 -ve pregnancy tests, but also no sign at all of AF.
this time last week i felt very very pregnant, but i certainly dont feel pregnant anymore.

what pram have you chosen mini me? I am a pramaholic and LOVE prams / buggies etc etc

LAHG thank you for the kind offer of nemo, but we already have it. LOL at E's new trick. I absolutely admire you for managing all that work after a whole day with a toddler.

No other news here really, I am now down south and in the middle of carehome hunt for my dad. Fun, not.

Quodlibet · 13/10/2012 10:07

Hello everyone.

Congrats Harpie and nice To have you back, can't believe you are over half way through now!

Nannyl sorry you're having to do that - not fun indeed.

LAHG glad to hear you've got a twin support network already.

No news over here... DP and I are still ttcing away (just realised I am the only one on this thread now with not a hint of a child). Didn't have to go to Belgium in the end as DP's trip was cut short. He came home last night for 12 hrs and has now gone off to another country. It will be like this til mid November. TBH I am finding it difficult that he has limited time/energy to put into our shared lives as work is consuming his time. We are trying to buy a flat at the moment (actually that is big news!) but he hardly has any time to look into anything properly. I suppose that's just part of being a couple isn't it? Just frustrating that the balance has been one way for what feels like FOREVER!

LookAtHerGo · 15/10/2012 21:35

Yay harpie for having a boy, I hope this means all was super brilliant on the scan :)

Mini, I have previously gone to a group for bumps and babies and it was/is lovely, but children are supposed to be under 1 so I couldn't really take E along there with me when I have the twins. Whereas I can to the twins group and everyone is in the same boat so very willing to help if they are more settled :)

Nanny how did you feel about the -ve tests? I cheat a little bit on a Friday when I'm working, I take E through to our bedroom for her naps so I have naps when she does, if I'm lucky I'll get either 2 x 45 mins or a 90 lie down/nap with her, one one occasion I had just 30 mins, but hey I've only got 2 more Fridays to go :) so I do get 'some' rest, but I'd love a whole afternoon in bed before working till 2am!

Thanks Quod, must be quite difficult to not have a stable knowing when you will be together time. Good luck with the flat hunting.

Well I've been flu jabbed today. E had her MMR and her 1 year boosters. She's had a cough for a while but no temp so she was fine to have them. I'm hoping the cough doesn't get worse, she's not really coughing in the day much, mostly when lying down at night.

Trying to think of what else to tell you and I've forgotten.
