Where is everyone? Hellooooooo

minipie · 09/08/2012 10:47

Hello strawb! Nothing to report here - except I have definitely begun to feel little kicks which is great. But of course provides me with another thing to worry about (why haven't I felt her today? etc etc) Honestly I am going to need to learn to worry less or motherhood will drive me to an early grave!

bebejones · 10/08/2012 11:20

I am here, hovering with not much time to post.

Not sure if I have welcomed back Nannyl so, welcome back! :o

Having a bit of a nightmare time at the moment following the 'bump' on the motorway the other week. Things just getting on top of me a bit & I'm a bit of an anxious, emotional wreck still. The insurance & PI claims stuff is a constant remider & just makes me really upset even though no one was really hurt. (Car I hit are all claiming whiplash Hmm) So fed up of the constant rain of shit that seems to fall down upon us. Don't want to drag the thread down so will shut up now!! If everyone could just keep their fingers crossed that our numbers come up on Euromillions tonight that'd be grand! :o Wink

In other news, it was DDs 4th Birthday yesterday, we went to the zoo, twas lovely. She is mega hyped up & excitable about her party on Saturday & I'm trying to get her cake finished today! Fingers crossed!

It is v quiet in here, what's everyone up to? Harpie it's a week today until your scan isn't it?

Sorry for the lack of personals, brain is just mush & I can't focus on anything properly right now! :(

Leftwingharpie · 10/08/2012 15:07

Hello everyone - sorry for the epic crapness, I haven't been on the thread for ages. Actually having a day of feeling relatively normal, so thought I'd drop in and have a quick catch up.

Minipie, Strawberry and Bebe yes the scan is on the 17th by which time I should be about 12.5 weeks. Desperately want it to hurry up and come round because it's driving me crackers not knowing. Although then I'll have to tell work (massive guilt seeing as I only just got here).

Mini glad to hear your work were fine about it and that you'll be able to leave things in good order. Have you discussed what you'll do when you go back yet?

Quod I'll put the Persona in the post - is it ok to wait till Friday, I don't want to tempt fate! How is your sister getting on?

Nannyl so are you starting ttc next weekend? How exciting - another round of WIIT babies!

Strawberry congratulations on LO's growing comprehension! No doubt she understands a few words and just isn't letting on! Be careful what you talk about!

Tiddleypompom welcome back to the Internet! The antenatal thread is just too big and scary for me! I think the February lot had the right idea with three threads... although hang on - we are both having February babies!

Bebe I'm sorry to hear things are still not going well. Your DD looked well chuffed in her birthday pictures and I'm sure her cake is going to be another masterpiece! Bloody hell though - four years old! Where did that time go?
Don't worry about having a moan on here, you are entitled!

minipie · 10/08/2012 16:19

hi bebe and harpie!

bebe sorry about your prang insurance mare - must have been scary and I'm sure you could do without all the reminders. Good luck with a party of 4 years old Grin and happy birthday to DD!

harpie we have talked about possibly going part time when I come back. Hardly anyone has done this in the past but at the moment they are very keen to have someone demonstrating it "can be done" and they are keen to retain women so the climate is favourable iyswim.

nannyl ooh, ttcing coming up - another small age gap then potentially ,like lookathergo?

Leftwingharpie · 10/08/2012 17:22

That's lucky. At my sister's firm quite a few people from her trainee intake have recently had babies and they've all been refused any kind of flexible working and had to either go back full time (i.e. often working till 3am) or quit.

nannyl · 10/08/2012 21:19

Hello all

Umm not much to report here.... OH has decided No TTC until December Sad.... basically because its his sisters wedding early May... and we have paid nearly £400 for one night in the hotel (we are one of the lucky 10 to be allowed to only stay 1 night at this bargain rate, as they normally only allow min 2 night bookings at [try not to fall off chair] £800+ Shock and therefor being very pregnant then (or having a tiny baby + toddler is not desirable.
I will be planning another homebirth, and given that last time i wasnt sure if i was in labour and 20mins later I was a mummy, it does not seem like a good idea to be nearly 2 hours away from home.

New plan is another September baby (2y gap).... but OH just doesnt seem to get that not having a period makes planning when to make / have a baby some what difficult Confused

bebe sorry to hear about your car crash, but loved the birthday photos. What an adorable DD you have. Good luck with tomorrows party

harpie i hope your days of feeling relatively normal increase

minipie love to hear about your little kicks. I miss feeling those.... very special, treasure them all

strawberry awww so pleased she has learnt to clap..... anneka learmt that a few weeks and suddenly she now understands so much more.... they seem to develope sooo fast! (she also understand that if we say "good girl" she claps herself lol!)

We are looking forward to a nice family weekend.... as next weekend we are down south for yet another wedding (my best friends) the 4th wedding in 8 weeks!

Oh and OHs brother proposed this week, so they are now engaged... this leaves me / us as the ONLY couple we know not married / wedding planning..... not impressed about that. (It somehow seemed more ok when "BIL / SIL to be" were in the same boat, but now in my eyes, its not)

Quodlibet · 11/08/2012 13:40

Aha everyone is back!
We are just coming back from a wedding - tried to do it the cheap way (eg camping not staying in the B&B) but ended up spending way more than we can currently afford! It's difficult as I think quite a lots of our friends don't appreciate how little we actually earn, and it's hard to say no when there's lots of 'all chipping in' for stuff isn't it?

Bebe I didn't know about your bump, sorry to hear that. Look after yourself, I think the shock from something like that can often not really be taken into account. Glad DD's birthday went well - I imagine you are all up to your armpits in small children today!

Harpie that's really kind of you and of course whenever you are done with it - send me deets so I can at least PayPal you the postage! I'm probably being daft but it's getting me down a bit just not knowing what is going on with my silly body at the moment Sad. I've even wondered if I could have had some sort of chemical pg but think its really unlikely seeing as I've tested a fair few times over recent cycles and not a hint of a line. Logically it's probably just 'one of those things' and I need to now just concentrate on getting more routine and rest to try to get my hormones back on track.

Nannyl so you are back to waiting! I think you can feel the waiting of my being married even more keenly when you are also waiting to TTC! I've had SO MANY of our friends ask me this weekend about our marriage plans, and the blunt answer is that DP had reserved the right to do the asking but doesn't seem to be exercising that right!!

Quodlibet · 11/08/2012 13:42

...wait of NOT being married! Bloody iPhone!

LookAtHerGo · 11/08/2012 21:27

I'm still here, I've just been back at work, although I have been reading through.

All I will say is.... re the comment about breast feeding affecting fertility. ahem Edith was feeding more than once a night when I got pregnant, and look at me now! :) Although, I do appreciate it could have been a lot different, all I'm saying is just don't rule it out, even if you are still feeding. However I have seen you saying you are waiting now nannyl.

I have a bump!

I'm knackered. work full time for two weeks.

Edith has stopped being breast fed this week.

I'll update properly tomorrow (hopefully)

Leftwingharpie · 13/08/2012 20:31

Nannyl heavens well when is OH's brother's wedding? I hope he hasn't got any more brothers and sisters to get in the way of your plans married at venues with extortionately priced accommodation! I think a two year gap's nice - but how do you feel about this decision? Perhaps you can squeeze in a wedding while you're waiting?

Quodlibet · 17/08/2012 09:21

Harpie am I right in thinking its scan day for you? Good luck! You must be so excited and nervous too I imagine. Looking forward to you telling us all about your little wriggly one.

bebejones · 17/08/2012 09:50

Good Luck Harpie! :)

Leftwingharpie · 17/08/2012 12:30

Thanks guys - we're just on our way there now!

Leftwingharpie · 17/08/2012 13:40

Baby Harpie is looking good!

minipie · 17/08/2012 14:39

Oh yay! So glad to hear that harpie Smile Smile lovely to see the bean isn't it? Do you have your risk for Downs etc or not yet (or are you not having screening)? Hope that is fine for you too.

How did your DH react to the scan - mine was absolutely gobsmacked, I think he didn't realise till then that there was an actual baby in there... Mind you I cried at the 12 week scan... and I'm not a crier!.. so we were both quite emotional really.

Lahg I've always heard the other way round - not that you can't get pg while bf, but that you can't bf while pg (or at least it's jolly difficult). I see you've stopped. Not surprised you have a bump what with two of them in there!

Quod I got fed up of waiting for my DH to ask ... eventually I said "you propose or I'll do it for you! " He got on with it reasonably swiftly after that Wink

Leftwingharpie · 17/08/2012 15:12

Yes Quod I got fed up and gave DP as was his proposal orders as well. We'd still be hanging about now if I'd left it to him to do at his own pace.

mini I was very surprised not to get to see it on the screen but DH could see from where he was sitting and he looked entranced! I was just watching his reactions. We've got some photos though, so obviously I've seen them. NT was 2.4mm and I was measuring 13 weeks, so ok I think - just got to wait for my blood test result.

Quodlibet · 17/08/2012 16:06

Harpie really glad to hear all is well in there.

Hmmmm - proposal orders, good thinking. Love how you two legal minds secured the contract! My DP will just hang about forever left to his own devices for sure - he has no natural inclination towards change unless it's absolutely necessary on most other things. It took me three years to persuade him he should throw away his videos. This is what I'm up against so think I probably do need to take matters into my own hands.

LookAtHerGo · 17/08/2012 20:43

Hey Harpie, yay glad the scan was all good :) Are you feeling any better now? Have you got a name for while the bean is in you? My little beans are Cecil and Cecile!

Mini, you can breast feed while pregnant, some people have problems, some people don't enjoy it and some people have no worries what so ever. I had a few moments where it felt a bit weird, but E seemed to be fine with it, but I think I had reached a point where I had come to the end of what I was happy doing, just because I was so tired with that as well as everything else.

Finished the work course. :) Got about 6 weeks to wait for the next scan, drums fingers impatiently! MW check a week on wednesday. Not sure if I have felt anything yet, felt a few pops, but it could be wind. I must admit to having more nerves on the whole at the moment than I think I remember having with E, but I might have felt the same back then.

Leftwingharpie · 18/08/2012 08:51

LAHG yes I'm a bit better than I was thanks! My sis and I have been calling the baby TiRel (Tiny Relative). DH and I just call it the baby. Cecil and Cecile is funny! Smile

I loved that video clip of E walking btw - isn't she learning fast!

Leftwingharpie · 18/08/2012 08:52

Seven weeks till my next scan - 6 October. Can't wait to see baby again!

LookAtHerGo · 18/08/2012 19:27

Yeah, she's learning so much so quickly, she changes every day in stuff she learns.

TiRel is cool. :)

Mine is 27th sept.

I've been a grumpy grot today and I've puked :( hey ho.

nannyl · 20/08/2012 14:13

Great to hear things went well at scan harpie Smile

sorry you had a pukey day loookathergo. Very impressed by E's walking and i hope cecil and cecile are doing well.

We are now home from the 4th (and last) wedding this summer... it was really Unique.... one of my very best friends who had the legal part in the registry office (with just 2 witnesses) and did their own "ceremony" in a field!!!.....
Their service involved a large circle of rope that everyone held. They stood in the middle of this rope circle, and then, rather than being given away or similar they chose 4 people to stand in the middle with them & tie them together (with rope).... their mums, and a friend each, and my best friend chose me. I was truley honoured and surprised.
It was all in a field in a country park so thankfully the weather was kind to us. (though rather hot)

The 1st person in my NCT group has announced she is 13 weeks pg, and i saw one of my other very best friends at the wedding..... i was 20 weeks behind her last time, and she is 19 weeks pg now. Am finding it quite hard as i really really want to be pg now..... I feel completley ready to take on number 2, but OH just wont risk it at this point Sad
I know i shouldnt complain, and it will come round soon enough

yes OHs brothers wedding will be a ££££ one too, as it will be in the Isle of Man, so we will either have to car ferry it across or fly then hire a car, though its being planned for Aug 2014 so have a while to save go yet

Not much other news here, except that this morning Anneka and I have been shopping and i have bought a load of stuff for her 1st birthday party in 3.5 weeks time. Cant believe she is nearly a year already --and that its a year (tomorrow) since i was "term", and was very excited to have made it to 37 weeks for my home birth!

bebejones · 20/08/2012 18:54

I think I need a MN pregnancy bomb shelter in which to hide from all my RL friends who are getting updiffed all the bloomin' time! Angry Envy Sad Feels like there is a new one every day announcing they are updiffed! (2 today in fact!) We are still so far away from TTC!

Nannyl - I love a wedding but none of our friends are getting hitched, although I think 4 in one season might be a bit much even for me! :o Cannot believe A is nearly 1! That has gone fast! Although I still can't believe my DD is 4....how did that happen?!

LookAtHerGo · 20/08/2012 19:56

Yep E is 1 in 20 days! We've got nothing sorted for her birthday though yet! Oops.

Sorry you both are feeling Envy at the RL pg people, I know you say it's different in here, but I hope you are comfortable with the diffed WIITs.
