Feeling a bit sorry for myself today. My nausea is really low level, just dry heaving all the time, but it's so relentless. It really makes you appreciate what people go through when they have medical conditions that cause ongoing pain and illness. Just want to make it through to 5pm so I can get out of here but I've got loads to do and if I wasn't pg and feeling rubbish, I'd pull a late nighter and get caught up. I just can't though. Sorry for wallowing, I know I'm very lucky to be pg.

lagartija · 24/07/2012 20:04

Don't feel bad about complaining LWH, it is horrible. How many weeks are you now? Are you eating OK? If the nausea is non stop and you find you can't eat or you start throwing up a lot, there are meds you can take which help and are perfectly safe in pregnancy. Will keep a little eye on you as I have experience of very bad MS/HG. Thinking of you. xx

nannyl · 24/07/2012 22:38

Hello all waves

Can i come back please? If you remember me?.... just had a FB chat with LAHG and decided i really missed you all!.... and found you all again

I now have a 10m old, Anneka, who became mobile on Fridat and we moved house last week (wednesday).... complete nightmare (we were homeless for a couple of weeks) but all worth it in the end!

Leftwingharpie · 24/07/2012 23:04

Goodness hello! I have name changed by the way - was originally AmandaCooper. Hmmm [skeptical] not sure we should let you back in the gang... Grin

Wow can't believe A is 10 months old! And mobile! Are you having fun? The house move sounds like it was a bit hairy!

Lagartija thanks for the sympathy! Oh yes I am eating enough for an army to march on! Mostly junk food - mmm nutritious!

nannyl · 25/07/2012 09:49

phew..... hello AC LWHP Grin

yes im great thanks..... i finally feel like i am getting me back again....

those first few months I had a baby that fed ALL the time.... and i didnt find the time to write long posts on here..... and she wasnt a great sleeper until about 6m.... and the last few months we have been stupidly busy / stressed what with selling 2 houses and buying 1..... oh and in a 11 week period sold 2 houses, was homeless, bought 1 house (so 3 "moves"), 4 weddings, 1 diamond wedding anniversary, 3 holidays, so was rather busy!

I am very lucky and have my "dream house" in the lovliest spot of our village, about 5min walk from the school I plan to send anneka too.

I feel like i am now ready to carry on plodding on with "life"...... and will be thinking about number 2 quite soon too... (but am not trying in the way i tried for anneka... we will be seeing what happens)

I will have a re-read through and see what i have missed...
any other name changes i need to know about?
Any other little people on the way? or trying to be made?

Must fly as have NCT group arriving in 10mins

Quodlibet · 25/07/2012 11:10

Wow, welcome back nannyl! That does sound like a very intense 10 months.
Harpie, sympathies for the nausea, must be ick.

nannyl · 26/07/2012 20:14

Hows everyone?

I have spent the day morning in IKEA.
Ours stupidly doesnt open until 11am, but the restaurant opens at 10, and you can browse from 10.30 and tils open at 11. I had hoped to be out by 11.05!....
I arrived at 10.15, we had morning snack in the cafe then went into the store at 10.33.....
I had a list of 5 items.... I found them as quick as possible and noted aisle numbers etc
I didnt even have to queue for one of the (2) people on kitchen (to order my utility room cupboards) yet it took me ALL MORNING.....
I then had to push a trolley with Anneka in and a flat bed trolley, until i found a piece of furniture that i just couldnt lift... and then admitted defeat and asked for help....
I was finally back at the car at 12.15 (ikea man helped me load it) so by then it was so nearly annekas lunch time we had to go back to the restaurant for lunch

At 1.30, 3.5 hours after driving in, i drove out!!!!

Spent the afternoon sorting the garage (joy) calling our electrician / odd job man ref the jobs on house / and put up the boarder in Annekas bedroom... and then a very good friend who has a DD 6 weeks younger than Anneka (who has now become a neighbour Smile) popped in for a cup of tea and to see our new house

so all in all a manic yet productive day

and now im being called to assemble ikea furniture.... wish me luck!!!!

LookAtHerGo · 26/07/2012 20:49

Yay, it's all official now :)

Phew, can talk about it to anyone now :)

Second scan today, for an accurate date. Edd is 12 feb, the twins are DC/DA, which means separate placentas and sacs, which is the lowest risk for carrying twins. Will be having scans every 4 weeks after my 20 week scan.

Welcome back to the thread nannyl. Glad you enjoyed our little chat and have rejoined us.

Harpie. I hope you are feeling a bit better soon. Even nausea on its own is horrid.

Leftwingharpie · 26/07/2012 23:04

I am feeling much better thank you. I've even calmed down on the face stuffing!

So jealous of you being able to tell people! I still don't have a date for my scan. The scarily incompetent midwife said I would get the letter in the next 3 weeks, which would seem to be cutting it a bit fine!

Nannyl it sounds like you're getting lovely and settled in the new place. Not keen on the idea of 3.5 hours in Ikea though I have to say! Did A enjoy it?

nannyl · 29/07/2012 19:43

Hello all

LW hope you get your appointment soon.

Hope any sick people feel better soon (Being / feeling sick is just the worst things ever... i remember it very very well!)

Anneka seemed to enjoy ikea! She was very good and also enjoyed her first taste of ikea meatballs! (she eats everything in "adult" form... no chopping or mushing, if i can eat it, so can she, despite no teeth at all!)

we have had a productive weekend.... we have achieved;
border on wall in Annekas bedroom (proud to say I did this myself)
Shelves in Annekas bedroom
Pics Up in Annekas bedroom
Cupboards up in Utility Room
Bathroom Cupboard unit thing up in bathroom
Shelves up in kitchen
Toy storage unit up in playroom
Bookcase pinned to wall (and books unpacked onto it)
New plasma TV set up
Old TV set up in the snug
and i must have unpacked about 15 boxes too

Not bad for 1 weekend, and now Matt is outside mowing the lawn (oh yes he went to B&Q and bought a new lawn mower too!)

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend and is enjoying the olympics as much as us!

Leftwingharpie · 31/07/2012 17:53

Thanks nannyl I got my scan appointment it is 17 August. Ages away! Don't even have the house move to pass the time as it has been put back to the end of next month.

Have told my parents about the baby. My mum is really excited and immediately started chatting away to the tiny bump telling it what she was going to get out of the loft for it (billy goats gruff puppets apparently)!

Have also sent my dsis a birthday card that says Happy Birthday Auntie which she will get tomorrow!

Can't believe how much house stuff you got through, nannyl! Not bad indeed!

Minipie all the best for tomorrow. Hope you get some lovely clear pictures!

minipie · 31/07/2012 17:56

Thanks harpie and bless you for remembering! I am a wee bit nervous esp after my 12 week scan experience and as I haven't felt any movements yet (though I do have anterior placenta which may be why).

nannyl hello! impressed with how much you got done. we are off to Ikea this weekend, assuming all is well tomorrow, to stock up on baby kit (there is a big pushchair store near there too).

Leftwingharpie · 31/07/2012 19:31

I can imagind you will feel nervous, I'm already so anxious about mine. I'll be a bag of nerves going in. Are you finding out the sex?

minipie · 31/07/2012 19:55

Oh yes. Finding out everything they can possibly tell me - I am an information addict!

Leftwingharpie · 01/08/2012 16:10

Hoping no news is good news x

minipie · 01/08/2012 16:16

Hello! Yes it's 99% good news. The baby looks absolutely fine and confirmed as a little girl (well I say confirmed, there was no doubt really as they'd seen the XX Grin)

The 1% is that the umbilical cord only has 2 blood vessels not three, which is unusual and can sometimes be linked to growth problems - but usually not. So I need two more scans at 28 and 36 weeks to check growth. hopefully we will be in the "no problems" category and it just means 2 more looks at our daughter!

God it's nerve wracking this pregnancy thing!

Leftwingharpie · 01/08/2012 16:18

Yippee! Will write more after work.

Leftwingharpie · 01/08/2012 17:33

Wow Minipie that's lovely news! It sounds like everything is going well and it's good that they are being super extra cautious. You must be feeling very relieved. Now you know she's ok in there I bet you feel her fluttering away before long!

How have work been about your news? Have they said what's going to happen to all your client matters while you are on maternity leave? It's only a matter of time before something lands on my desk that I can't in all conscience make a start on without fessing up that I won't be around to finish the job, it's actually quite infuriating! When the tribunal judge fixed a hearing date for one of my matters in May I started wondering if I could get back to work in time to pick it up!

So are you going to rush out and buy lots of baby things now? Do you have a pushchair in mind? DH has already bought ours to match his car. It has matching wheels apparently. sigh

minipie · 01/08/2012 17:47

harpie I think I have started to feel her - she was certainly very active during the scan (not helpful for the poor sonographer!)

Work have been fine. Luckily things have been quieter since I announced pg. I mainly have one big case on and they will have to find a colleague to take over my role on that when the time comes. But there is a 4 person team on the case not just me so it's not too tricky for them. I started working on it well before I was pg (in fact just as we started TTC) so no guilt!

Yup we are having a mega shop this weekend! Pushchair shortlist is the Uppababy Cruz in top spot, followed by the Babystyle Oyster, iCandy Cherry or possibly the Babyjogger City Mini. My usual over researching tendency has come into full effect!

How is your nausea at the moment? Calming down at all? I made DH offer his seat on the tube to a lady in early pregnancy today (she was carrying a Bounty folder which they give you at booking in so I knew) as she looked so ill... Only 16 days till your scan, how pregnant will you be then?

(v Envy by the way that you have finished work for the day!! I am still at my desk - though admittedly not doing any actual work Grin)

Leftwingharpie · 01/08/2012 19:02

I only work 7.5 hours a day, 7 on Fridays! I clocked off at 16.50! I'm off on flexitime for the rest of this week! Grin

minipie · 01/08/2012 19:11

I was having a quiet day and intending to go home early... then partner decides he wants to have a 1.5 hour chat! gah. off home now. Enjoy your flexitime!

Quodlibet · 06/08/2012 12:04

Wow it's quiet in here!
I've been off radar as got a last minute job last week working somewhere with no Internet - quite a bizarre one but extremely fun (don't want to put details up here but there'll be pics going up on FB no doubt!). Mini pie glad to hear your scan went well - as you say, sounds like extra checks are just being cautious (my sister had them too with no problems) and nice to get some more glimpses of the little one.

I think all this mammoth work/travel i've had on for the last three months has sent my cycles haywire - got AF 10 days early this cycle, WTF? This is after a cycle two months ago where it was a week late. So clearly my oestregen levels are off or something and I think I need to get some better routine established if TTC is going to come to anything. DP is going on tour again in the autumn so that won't help either. Harpie I'm thinking perhaps the kind offer of a loan of your Persona might be a really good idea now! It's quite frustrating not knowing quite what's going on in there.

How is everything else? Nannyl it sounds like you've been on a massive productivity drive to get your new place sorted out.

nannyl · 06/08/2012 14:51

Hello
Another busy weekend for us.... Matts Dads wedding, and we had his dads side of the family here for a pre wedding lunch / see the house etc.

We had a lovely time, but it would have been far less stessful if my cleaner had used her key to let herself in on Friday, rather than presumed i was asleep Confused and not want to wake me. (i had deliberately gone out to be out of the way)
and then Ocado failed to deliver the crucial parts of the lunch on Saturday night so we needed an emergancy supermarket trip which defies the point of internet shopping! anyway it was all ok in the end!

I have just found out a(nother) friend is pregnant (with her number 3). I am feeling very very enviouse right now, as i know soooooo many people pregnant with their number 2's (or 3's), and last weekend i agreed to wait 2 more weeks before we stop "trying to not get pregnant" Personally i feel ready to TTC now.
Matt wanted out new oven in (electrician on his was as I type) and the downstairs loo to be "done" (current one wont flush properly) and we will have a date for that by tomorrow....

I am already to try...... but would be even more ready if i had a period... which i havent.....

Anneka is being a monkey and we seem to have gone from 3 BFs a day to 5, and she has added in a night feed too, which is not going to help with fertility / baby making Sad

Hope your cycle gets back on track quod.... and am really hoping mine "starts" again very soon! (never thought id say that!)

strawberrypie · 06/08/2012 20:34

Great news on the scan Minipie, it sounds like all is absolutely fine.

August 17th marked in diary LWH! I found it so emotional when I had my scans and I'm not normally that kind of person but babies do that to you!

Welcome back nannyl, you sound like you need a rest after all that house sorting/feeding family etc! My baby is 9 and a half months old now and I have not started cycling either, I wonder what the average is for women EBFing? My LO still has at least one (normally two) night feeds so probably not too soon for me either.

Congratulations on becoming an Auntie, Quod! Bless you for helping out with the decorating- I'm sure your sister really appreciated it.

Today seemed like a milestone as my LO started showing us that she understands a word- when we say clap clap clap (with no gesturing etc) she starts clapping! Wow! such a small thing but it seems massive :)

Really enjoying the Olympics, will be sad when it all finishes. My favorite moment so far was that SA swimmer's Dad being interviewed- "Look at him! Beautiful!"

tiddleypompom · 07/08/2012 18:53

Just checking in on harpie - we missed you over in the march thread so I'm sorry I have snooped! Will report back all is a-ok :o
