Same here Quod don't you remember my bottle of sparkling wine and a pregnancy test shopping trip?! I'm sure it's too early for the alcohol to get to the baby.

Bebd who is Adele? Confused

Leftwingharpie · 13/07/2012 17:20

Minipie I'll do my best! I'd be so unhappy about having to go along with a birth experience that I wasn't comfortable with. I also think it would be worse for me to do it MIL's way and things go wrong than the other way round.

bebejones · 14/07/2012 19:28

Harpie - I'm going to just pretend that you didn't ask who Adele is!! Shock

Quod - portaloo testing sounds...erm...fun?!! Sorry it was another BFN, but it's not over til it's over!

Had a busy week of cakes, got another one to do this week as a 'Thank-you' for DDs pre-school staff, it's her last day there on Weds :( Then got my friend's wedding cake toppers to make (paid work again!! :o)

Exciting stuff today, (just between us WIITs, hush hush) DD went to her Saturday drama school group & the principal and her teacher said how photogenic she is & that maybe we should look in to getting some 'work' for her. I said we had briefly looked into it when she was little but no one would take her as we live too far from London. The academy she goes to have their own agency which they don't usually promote to her age group as that isn't really why they go at that age (this particular branch don't have any of DDs age group signed up to the agency, even though it's open to all pupils) but the principal is going to ring head office to suggest that they take her on. Her teacher says her confidence and ability is fantastic for a child of her age & that she has 'got it'!! :o Just so amazed and proud of her. Not sure if anything will come of it yet, but you never know! (And of course it's no guarantee that she will get any work) Just bursting to tell people, but don't want to say too much in RL til it's sorted. :)

Leftwingharpie · 14/07/2012 19:55

Apparently she's a very popular singer! I've never heard of her or any of the songs in her discography. I sometimes wonder if I should own a radio or watch something on TV other than The Big Bang Theory! Grin

That's amazing news about your DD you must be absolutely bursting at the seems with pride. I only hope my LO has half that amount of confidence! It can take you a long way. So when will you hear back? Did they say? Would she have to travel to London?

Well done on your latest commissions as well!

Leftwingharpie · 14/07/2012 19:56

*seams

minipie · 15/07/2012 12:55

Shock at not knowing who Adele is! I bet you would know some of her songs if you heard them though - look up Someone Like You or Chasing Pavements or Rolling in the Deep - you will have heard them somewhere I bet.

bebe wow very exciting! Your DD is gorgeous and definitely photogenic (just had another cheeky peek at your profile pics), even as a newborn she looked lovely which is very rare! Bet she would enjoy it too Grin just don't pay out lots for a "portfolio" as there are lots of scams out there.

Leftwingharpie · 15/07/2012 17:36

Oh having Youtubed them I have heard them. I just didn't know the words or who the artist was. DH has just overheard what I was listening to and said "is that Adele?" so it seems I am the only one!

bebejones · 15/07/2012 20:36

Just still Shock that you didn't know who she was?!!!! I think I may actually be a bit in love with her, DD loves her song 'Rumour has it' and sings along with the chorus, it's so funny!! Moving on....Wink

Mini - I have to use their approved photographer & the head shots get sent straight to head office I think. It's set up by the drama school so I'm not too worried! :) (She was a scrummy baby :o)

Has everyone had a lovely weekend? I've been pottering doing a few cake bits today...and housework!

Leftwingharpie · 16/07/2012 07:08

Good morning! Just preparing to drag my poor limp body out of bed for another gruelling week! It seems no amount of sleep is enough to get me through a 9-5 day, no doubt I'll be yawning away by 11am. I'm sure my boss thinks I've taken up midweek clubbing!

I'm kind of scared to venture onto the antenatal thread at the moment, it seems everyone is having either a miscarriage or a terrible scare of some kind. Obviously I want to be supportive but constantly reading about other people's losses is really worrying me. Would it be really awful and selfish to stay away from the thread until my scan? Confused

Leftwingharpie · 16/07/2012 07:26

Silly question of course it would be awful and selfish to abandon people. Ignore me! Blush

LookAtHerGo · 16/07/2012 10:04

Harpie, it isn't selfish to stay away for a while. I'm not really posting in the feb thread at the moment. There have been a few mc on there too. It's quite sad and makes you feel more nervous than you probably would do.

Bebe, brill stuff for mini Grin she is av pretty girl.

Quod?????? I hope you had a good weekend. And I'm keeping fingers crossed for a BFP.

Can't remember the rest sorry.

I've been sick 3 days in a row now Sad I have my scan on Thursday, why has it just started now? I think breakfast cereal caused 2 of them and a bath caused the other but still Sad

E can do 2 steps without holding on, granted the second one is quite wobbly but she's getting there. The first one is steady enough, there's an amazing look of concentration on her face when she does it Grin

strawberrypie · 16/07/2012 12:13

Well done E! My little E has started walking with a push-along walker now...she is so pleased with herself!

Well done with all the cakes Bebe! The drama thing sounds like a good way to channel all mini's confidence and energy in a positive way, how exciting to be told you've got 'it' at such a young age! :)

LWH-stay away from the thread if it's making you worried! You and the little bean come first at the moment-people understand that.

Any news Quod?

Quodlibet · 16/07/2012 20:13

Hello all! I am back from mammoth festival shenanigans. Not up the duff unfortunately - in usual style AF turned up a couple of hours after the second test. Have had a brilliant weekend though. DP and I did have a big chat about it all - instigated by him - and he has totally turned the corner and is now actually quite desperate to have a baby. He apologised for making me wait so long too.

Wow to these achievements - Bebe that's great. And I can't believe that E is walking already. Or that Harpie doesn't know who Adele is. Shock

Leftwingharpie · 16/07/2012 22:22

Glad you had a good weekend Quod shame about AF catching up with you. Great balancing moves on the dance floor! So now that DP is on board are you now full on raring to go green?!

LAHG and Strawberry I'm so relieved you said that. It's such a worrying time and constantly reading about things going wrong isn't helping. I feel so bad for the people who are suffering and I know it could so easily be me in that situation needing support.

Sounds like both your LOs walking skills are coming on brilliantly, it must be such a thrill to see them take their first steps! It won't be long before they're marching around your houses!

Leftwingharpie · 18/07/2012 20:39

LAHG all the best for tomorrow. What time is your appointment?

LookAtHerGo · 18/07/2012 22:07

Oh, I thought I had posted!

Quod sorry about AF, but it's great that things are looking good for more TTC action :)

Thanks harpie, scan is midday. I'll update when I'm able to.

minipie · 18/07/2012 22:10

Ooh best of luck tomorrow lahg

bebejones · 19/07/2012 09:38

Good Luck LAHG!

Leftwingharpie · 19/07/2012 12:06

Ooh it's scan time!

LookAtHerGo · 19/07/2012 13:36

Double trouble!!!! I'm having twins!!!

Please nothing on Facebook GrinGrinGrin

lagartija · 19/07/2012 13:37

OMG! Congratulations! That must have been a surprise!

tiddleypompom · 19/07/2012 14:19

I crashed your thread to say SSSQQQUUUEEEEEEEEEEEE to lookathergo :o

(see you back on the shiny new March thread harpie)

LookAtHerGo · 19/07/2012 14:26

Thanks lagartija. It was and it wasn't. I had joked about it a few times and I was more like ha I was right, and yay they're both ok. Grin

Thanks TP xx

minipie · 19/07/2012 14:38

Shock Shock Shock

Double congratulations lahg!

great that they are both ok!

So ... E will be what, 13 months old when the twins arrive?

LookAtHerGo · 19/07/2012 14:44

No E will be 17 months when they're due, but it's a case of not knowing how far I'll go, the only thing that's certain is that I'll not be going overdue!
