Slowing down here...

Sputnik · 15/10/2012 16:25

No rain here except a drop this morning, so much for weather warnings!

Francagoestohollywood · 15/10/2012 17:01

They got it wrong this time, thank goodness, it appears.

Francagoestohollywood · 15/10/2012 17:02

Ah, my children are having their English lesson and dd has just said "Oh, dear" Grin

MerlinScot · 16/10/2012 10:51

It rained a lot up here LOL Weather forecasts are all messed up everywhere :D

I hope they get it right for next week though, because I don't believe at all "sposa bagnata sposa fortunata", I'd rather have a "dry" wedding instead of having the wedding dress trail full of mud!! Angry

MerlinScot · 16/10/2012 10:53

P.S: did it arrive in Italy the news about Cameron letting Salmond having his 'very important' independence referendum?

Mum didn't tell me anything so I suppose RAI didn't show it?

Francagoestohollywood · 16/10/2012 11:59

Merlin, are you getting married??? Smile!!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 16/10/2012 12:00

I never watch Italian tv, let me have a look on the newspaper, hang on.

Rosa · 16/10/2012 12:56

I saw it on the BBc website , I don't agree that the 16 /17 yr olds should be voting . I would have voted for anything anti govenrment at that age ....and so would most of my mates.
Oooh a wedding how lovely lets have some more details.......

Blazing sun here now after a bloody foul day yesterday we still have aqua alta up today and its forecasted domani as well...

Sputnik · 16/10/2012 13:49

Ooh are you getting married!
I was a sposa bagnata, then hailed upon then finally snowed upon. This was in Italy mind you.

Francagoestohollywood · 16/10/2012 14:35

Please don't tell me that you got married in AUgust Sputnik Grin!!! Was it in your place in the mountains?

Rosa · 16/10/2012 15:01

I will be watching on the Ipad.... I keep swinging as who I want to win though !!
I got married in Feb and we ahd blazing sun and people on the terrace at the hotel. 2 days later the airport was shut for snow...
In the Uk a week later it was a wonderful day as well.....

Francagoestohollywood · 16/10/2012 15:03

Francagoestohollywood · 16/10/2012 15:04

Did you get married in Venice rosa?

Rosa · 16/10/2012 15:32

Both!! Ceremony in Venice and a week later a blessing in the Uk, got to wear the dress twice!

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 16/10/2012 16:02

Oh yes, I remember now! How lovely Smile!

Sputnik · 16/10/2012 17:20

Not august, end of february. Bit of a shotgun wedding as I was 3 months pg with DD. Yes we were in the mountains, we had our house full of my family and DH got stuck in the snow coming home from taking one of our friends back to where he was sleeping. So I spent a large part of my wedding night wondering where the hell my new husband was!

MerlinScot · 16/10/2012 17:39

Haha Sputnik nice story!!! Getting a shotgun wedding as well, not because I'm pregnant though, only because at the moment I'm not working anyway so I could organise everything. I'm making my own wedding cake too and I'm writing this post in a break of my cake-decorating session LOL

Getting married on the 27th, north of Scotland. Italian mum and bro arriving to Glasgow on the 24th, me driving down so it would be horrible to find snow or ice on the A9.
Hope it won't snow on my wedding day, OMG, I'll wear sandals! Had few snow flakes already in the centre of Scotland.

Rosa, I don't agree with 16-17 yr olds voting either but mind you.. Salmond lets EEA nationals to vote, so I guess that he's aiming to get as more votes as possible, babies excluded LOL

Francagoestohollywood · 16/10/2012 18:22

Congratulations Merlin and fingers crossed for no snow Smile. We of course will demand pics of the cake (at least!!!).

Wow Sputnik, that sounds lovely, even despite your dh going missing in action! I have to say that I find a snowy wedding very romantic.

MerlinScot · 17/10/2012 10:00

Thanks Franca!! I'm crossing fingers and toes too, for the moment the temperatures are well below the seasonal ones and frost is everywhere in the morning.
No probs to post pics of the cake :)

Francagoestohollywood · 17/10/2012 16:32

Yes, please do Merlin! I am sure it will be a lovely wedding no matter what the weather throws!

Tomorrow I am seeing a physio, who will check out my most recent x rays. Yesterday I did a session of "postural training" at the gym and I feel better.

Rosa · 18/10/2012 16:38

I do lurrve a wedding will brush off the hat and get a bottle of bellini in fir rhe celebration.
Glad you had some improvement on the back- dh suffers and has done for years. With a MRI they discovered a hernia al disco and he does regular gym sessions to help with it.
I am planning dd2 birthday its not until Nov 5 then party Nov 11 but she is being very particular as to what she wants!!!!!
