Hahaha BananaGio, I got used a lot and quickly to the Scottish lifestyle... my mum's neighbour, when I visit my mum, she never stops saying "why are you drinking tea if it's not 5 yet?" rolling eyes Yeah, stereotypes are always bad, everywhere!!
Yeah Franca and Rosa, I re-qualified as a chef after I became unemployed few years ago. I've to admit that's the best idea I had in my life. After I moved to Scotland, I decided to also learn everything about the English cooking and then I graduated!
You're welcome to ask me anything
, recipes and such ;)
Previously I was working for the fashion designers companies, like Gucci. And Rosa, you'd be amazed what people had to do to keep their jobs and fit in such an environment. Beign part of a "group" was a must. As a result, in 2006 I ended up being deeply in debt because I had 3 loans and a mortgage, you know to fit in you the LV bag, the classy Mercedes and be a house owner!!
I was very lucky because when I became unemployed, I was able to sell everything, pay off the loans (only useful "to appear" instead of "being") and having some savings too.
Rosa, so sad to hear that too... some Italians never change. I never fitted in any of those groups either, I was a diversa and proud to be. So yeah I'm happy to have dumped my lifestyle and my ex fiancé too (who could never decide between me and his mother, after 10 years...) and embraced another life elsewhere.
I've more honest and real friends here than I ever had in Italy. Mind you, they probably cut me off from their friends' list when I also dumped that stupid lifestyle for a life of sacrifice but a lot more rewarding.
