You've got to aim for either simple and classy and go for a few elegant white ones, or go the whole hog and kit your house like a pikey shrine. Luckily we have no ladder else I'd be in the same dilemma.

My PILs deck their house like a neon grotto every year. Used to frighten ds1 but now he's 3 he'll probably love it. Ds2 too young to remember but suspect he'll holler when grandad gets the snowman to flash again.

BadHair · 18/11/2003 19:45

I meant flash as in flicker, not expose itself.

Have fun, dears!

(Will you be wearing Christmas lights or something?)

codswallop · 29/11/2003 19:01

Have got the lights - great switch on tomorrow!

OP posts:
BadHair · 30/11/2003 17:25

Are they on yet? Did you fuse the street?

SoupDragon · 30/11/2003 17:32

Our lights have been up all year (but not on!). I had to remember to remove the end of them from the leylandii hedge when we had it reduced to 6' high this summer so I must remember to rehang them along that bit.

I can't bear those waving santas etc.

Might switch them on tomorrow seeing as it will be December.

mears · 30/11/2003 17:33

Hope your lights are working OK Coddy. I am going to add in a bit of baa humbug because next door is like Santa's Grotto with lights flashing all over the shop, inside and out
I hate Christmas starting so early. We always waited until a couple of weeks before Christmas to decorate the inside of the house. Now dd is moaning the face off me to get decorations like next door. I would like icicles for round the edge of the roof I must admit, but i really hate doing it so early. Plus I wouldn't put up as much as next door and dd thinks we are mean. It is quite frankly pi$$ing me off

codswallop · 30/11/2003 18:20

Mears you are a misery!1 THought you would be way into it.....

Ok pale blue star light are up - the flashing was too much so they are now static and look great.

I would rather have decs up from Dec1st till the 25th then talke them down the minute xmas day is finished - hate them up til the 6th

Isn't it supposed to be 12 days before and 12 days after ? We put our tree up yesterday, no outside lights, but those blue ones look pretty.
