As per dh is leaving everything to the last minute. As a present for his dm and dd he is putting together a really lovely collection of cine footage of himself and siblings as small children .He doesn't know what music to accompany it with. I suggested Venus as a boy as it is quite lullaby(ish) but then I realised his sister would be in it too. Can you think of anything?

I'm thinking along the lines of whimsical and sweet rather than funky e.g. We are family

You're beautiful - James Blunt

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 19:57

BLEURGH sorry I know it's a M'net fave. I hate it and will not suggest it, only because it will be played about 645 times over xmas day and I will hurl.

These lyrics are quite appropriate but I've no idea what the tune is (I'm sure I should )

(You're beautiful makes me hurl too btw )

'Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong would probably do the trick.

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:06

Gosh aren't they. Thanks Jan (just posted on your other thread BTW) Will see if I can download that track to see what it sounds like but I was hoping to use something dh already has in his collection (which is vast)

Perhaps artists could be suggested instead??? I love my music but have drawn a blank on this one.

AAAw thanks bauble. He used that on our wedding and ds's 1st year DVD so that one is ruled out. Good choice BTW!

What age is your DH? Would it be an idea to choose a song from the same time?

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:08

Another good idea, he is 37.

How about "Wonderful Life" by Black? That's lilting and very sweet?

MARINAtivityPlay · 23/12/2005 20:10

Oh if he is 37 he will remember this well from when it was in the charts.
Or Days, by either the Kinks or the gorgeous cover version by Kirsty Maccoll?

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:10

OOH Marina you fox ! He loves that tune actually. Isn't it really sad though??

OP posts:
bauble99 · 23/12/2005 20:11

1968?

bauble99 · 23/12/2005 20:11

'Days' by The Kinks is a fantastic suggestion!

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:12

Looked at the lyrics and not I don't think it goes with the theme.

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:13

Yes 68 , which one is days?

bauble99 · 23/12/2005 20:13

Love the KK cover too, but maybe your PILs will enjoy hearing a 'pop tune' that they liked when he was born/growing up.

bauble99 · 23/12/2005 20:14

Sorry, the 'KM' cover.

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:14

Bauble you rock! It's perfect dh will completely wee his drawers when he hears that suggestion.

'Here Comes The Sun' by The Beatles?

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:15

Stop it!

If they had really poor taste in music you could come unstuck.

Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep, anyone?

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:16

Just checked he has the Kirsty McCholl version too!

My dad made a video for my wedding instead of doing a speech and one of the pieces of music he used was by Elton John. I think it might have been I Want Love, but I can check with him if you think that might appeal. The film was footage/photos of me from a baby right up to my hen weekend and all the music was perfect, although you probably wouldn't want When Will I Be Famous? by Bros!

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 23/12/2005 20:17

Marina - thanks I totally missed your post there. Really sorry
