As per dh is leaving everything to the last minute. As a present for his dm and dd he is putting together a really lovely collection of cine footage of himself and siblings as small children .He doesn't know what music to accompany it with. I suggested Venus as a boy as it is quite lullaby(ish) but then I realised his sister would be in it too. Can you think of anything?

I'm thinking along the lines of whimsical and sweet rather than funky e.g. We are family

Or - Ernie The Fastest Milkman in The West by Benny Hill?

PMSL. I won't suggest that because knowing dh he would use it and think it's terribly ironic.

Agree - not James Blunt, especially for a family thing.

Will give it some thought, but first reaction is "There must be an Angel" (or whatever it's called) by Eurythmics. Or "all you need is love" by the Beatles or "Even Better Than the Real thing" by u2.

May or may not be suitable, but those are some off the cuff suggestions.

'Father and Son' is good, too. But it would have to be the original by Cat Stevens, not 'Foghorn Ronan Keating'. Shame on him for destroying a classic.

Dream a Little Dream of Me - Mama Cass
Over the Rainbow - Eva Cassidy version
Summer in the City - Loving Spoonful
Hey Mr. Tambourine Man - Byrds

Turn, Turn, Turn by the Byrds.

I like Marinas suggestion of Black's Wonderful Life

Janh · 23/12/2005 20:37

Who or what is Black?

moondog · 23/12/2005 20:37

Well I'm 38 and if I was doing similar for my parents,I'd have loads of Beatles and anything really from 1970-78.

James Taylor - You've Got a Friend
one of my friends has this as the sound track to the video of her daughters early months and it seems to go really well.
