ONLINE SITES WHICH HAVE EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS?

OK, maybe I've been lucky, but I've used a few new online sites this Christmas and they've all been spot on. They were:
Adventure toys
Mailorderexpress
Toy choice
Amazon
GLTC
Only gripe was with the courier service used by adventure toys and toy choice - no deliveries outside mon-fr 9-5, no specified time slot (not even am/pm) so had to fetch it myself from the depot miles away....

ELC - no probs at all with these, I realise that I'm in the minority with this one.

www.sylvanianfamilies.com - Fab prices, free p&p, fast delivery.

John Lewis delivered wine and toffee puddings to ny brothers in plenty of time. GLTC did my personalised calendar in plenty of time too. I haven't used Mothercare but I can personally vouch for a senior member of staff there - when she first started a few years ago she was told that there was a certain product they couldn't get hold of and deliver in time for Christmas. She went ballistic (she has kids) and told them to get motorcyle couriers to go round Toys R Us to buy them and deliver them - obviously at a big loss. And it wasn't just coz she'd done the sums and decided it was worth it to teh company for customer relations etc - it was more a case of genuinely KNOWING how horrendous it would be to be let down on Christmas presents for children a few days before Christmas.

LIZS · 21/12/2005 11:32

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 21/12/2005 13:22

Mumsnet are always great I find.

I do shops, not sites.

emily05 · 21/12/2005 13:24

the disney store were excellent - you can track your order

the best is justchildsplay.co.uk. I ordered one day and recieved the goods the next (no extra cost)

Kelly1978 · 21/12/2005 13:24

amazon are terrible. I've got five orders to go out before Xmas which were supposed to be despatched this week and are now not going to be here for 1-2 weeks. Amazon never keep track of their stock well enough, so run out well before it says they are out online.

Littlemermaid · 21/12/2005 13:34

amazon have been awful for us too, delivering stuff one item at a time !

M&S were great one of the few sites that will deliver to Northern Ireland to the in laws.

Pout's website was the best, ordered make up for sis and best friend, free delivery and packaging and the order came in 48 hours. I love their stuff it's soooo pretty
