Hello Ladies,

Here is the 4th WIIT thread for our enjoyment.

Stats will have to follow at a later date, as I can't check back to see where everyone is accurately at the moment.

Get posting and lets see where this thread takes us. :)

Well AC, 100 and I could do a bit of cheering on the boys then take a leisurly stroll down to the cafe with the prams?

bebejones · 16/02/2012 16:12

Wish I was nearer to come for coffee and cake! :(

I'm feeling a bit rubbish & gloomy today. I have a cold & AF is looming so that probably accounts for my vile temper & general grottiness!

Got to have new baby snuggles with friends 1month old little girl today :) and DD got to have a hold too (and sang rock-a-bye baby to her which was beyond cute)! She really loves babies at the moment, babies are mentioned nearly every day! Poor little thing had her pre-school booster vaccinations on Tuesday, I'd been dreading them. Told her she was going to have an injection but she didn't really comprehend so when it came to it, full on screaming & sobbing and 'Mummy, why is the lady hurting me? She's hurting me mummy, she's hurting my arms!!' :( Was awful, thank God it's done now!

Starting to get cake business going in the right direction. Got loads of orders for friends next few months which is good portfolio practise while I try & get kitchen up together. Although I do really need a new kitchen, that's just not gonna happen!!

DD has developed a hacking cough, she sounds lke a seal poor thing, not sure if it's jab related...probably not! Hmm

That's my update for the week I guess. What an incredibly dull life I lead!! Hmm Wink

How are all my lovely WIITs? Did everone get spoilt on Tuesday or do you guys not go into V-Day? I got flowers, no card, but hey you can't have everything! :o

100years · 16/02/2012 22:03

Yay for cake eating cheering men on.

Bebe, we do too. I'll come down and visit you one day :) How would that be. I think you are only about an hour from me. I'm not sure if my AF is looming YET AGAIN :( And boo for mini having jabs and hurting like that.

Hmm, valentines day, my OH doesn't really do valentines day, he says it should be romantic all the time and spontaneous gestures of love when you are least expecting it. I did get a card though, and a "I love you" as he left for work while I was still asleep!

Quodlibet · 17/02/2012 11:42

Hello all.

Bebe sorry you're feeling grots, but fantastic news that you're getting so many cake orders already. Good stuff.

My DP doesn't 'do' valentines as he gets in a huff about the commercialism of it all (curmugeon - he's a romantic really). He did make us a really lovely dinner though.

Did anyone else watch Becoming a Father (think that's what it was called) last night? We ended up having quite an eye opening conversation afterwards. We both ended up admitting that we feel really daunted by the TTC and sometimes wonder if we're mad to be doing it. We're both under enormous work pressure for the next year or so (he may end up touring a lot, and I've got to finish my PhD in that time too) and sometimes it feels like it's going to be impossible to do all the things we need to do AND cope with a pregnancy/baby too. In the end I think we decided that there's never going to be a good time and if we waited a year all the things that are looming now would be gone, but they'd have been replaced with other things and so really the only option is to get on with it. It is difficult sometimes though not to freak out at it all. I am worried about how I will cope if I'm pregnant in the summer when I have my mad period of 2 months non-stop work where I CAN'T be ill/off sick as if I'm not there the whole thing grinds to a halt. Confused. I suppose the only answer is cross that bridge when we come to it??

strawberrypie · 17/02/2012 18:36

You'll be fine Quod, and even if you are not you will find a way to cope! No use worrying about a hypothetical situation. (I know that is easier said than done!)

Well done with all the cake orders and with the way you take beautiful photos, Bebe- your portfolio will be fab x

100years · 18/02/2012 20:12

Quod you are right. It could always seem like there isn't a perfect time, but things have a way of working out right when they happen.

E has a tummy bug and temp Sad poor thing. Cancelled lots of nice things this weekend but I'm ok about it, she comes first, weird how if it had been me I'll and being the reason I've not gone somewhere I'd feel worse about it. It's my baby and I don't mind if that makes sense.

But she had a playdate the other day and the mum said 'he's had a dodgy tummy for a few days' grr I would have said to leave it had I known before they came. I mean it may well be totally coincidental and E could catch something at any point but it seems too much like its from that Sad

Her temp reached 38.5 earlier so she's just in a body suit and nappy. And she really wants me, gave me the big 'I want you mummy' look earlier when she was with daddy.

Quodlibet · 19/02/2012 18:34

Oh poor little E! Get well soon.

I am ill too, but sadly I think mine is at least partially self - or rather made worse by staying up v v late at a wedding party last night. I discovered that our friends (both of the couple work in the same business as me) are expecting, and we ended up having quite a long chat about the 'no right time' issue.

My other news is that I've booked flights to join DP on his 10 day work trip to the States next month. Indulgent yes but he starts off in NY and I've never been to NY and who knows if I'll have the chance again before we have DCs! The trip comes right after AF is due so it'll be an interesting 2ww for me - if it's a bfn then at least I have a great trip to make the most of, if it's a bfp then it'll be a bit crazy trying not to let on to his workmates but amazing in a different way.

100years · 20/02/2012 11:26

Hope the self inflicted illness is better today :)

E is on the mend, although her bottom is still not right, she also was sick again in the night. She's a bit more lively today, which is nice as she's been totally wiped out for the weekend, but is a bit more herself. She's having a go at crawling around at the moment, and she's getting the hang of the hands and knees thing, but I think she's just not well enough to do it properly. Tired little pumpkin.

OP posts:
100years · 20/02/2012 11:28

Oh I meant to say about your trip, sounds lovely, can I sneak me and E into your suitcase, I've never been to America, and I'd quite like to. Lets hope it is a BFP for you. I appear to be in the 2ww period, although I have no idea if I ovulated, so it could just be the last 2 weeks of my cycle, as opposed to a proper 2ww.

OP posts:
Quodlibet · 20/02/2012 13:29

100 yep sneaking you both in sounds like a stirling idea, there'll be a distinct lack of female company as DP's lot are all blokes. If it's anything like last year we'll have a million bits of luggage with all their gear so one more will make no difference - do you think you and E could maybe fit into a guitar case? Grin. Glad to hear she's on the mend, it must be really hard when they're ill.

bebejones · 20/02/2012 18:41

Oooh Quod very Envy I went to NY with an old boyfriend just before 9/11 & loved it! Do you have any plans for things you want to see/do? Here's hoping that you get the BFP before you go. But at least if it's a BFN you can consol yourself with lots of cocktails! :o

100 - Poor little E :( It's so horrid when they are poorly. There is just sod all you can do really :( Glad she is starting to perk up a bit now.

Despite her hacking cough & snotty nose DD has gone back to preschool today! Hoorah! :o She needs constant stimulation & interaction at the moment, it's exhausting!! Just booked her in for a taster session at a drama class. Everyone always comments of what a natural performer she is, so we shall see how it goes. :)

SOOOOOOOOOO excited about pancake day. We have a a pancake feast for dinner every year, no main course, just lots and lots of pancakes with various toppings! Yum! (Suppose we could have savoury ones Hmm Naaaah!! :o Wink)

100years · 21/02/2012 15:03

It would have to be a very large guitar case! And I'd sadly be somewhat over the weight limit! Never mind.

Hope she enjoys drama classes they're a great thing to get in to. And enjoy your pancake feast.

E has had more sick and nappy incidents Sad and you can see she's lost a bit of weight but still appears hydrated enough.

Oh shit. Gtg. Another nappy thing. Sad

100years · 21/02/2012 15:30

Poor thing. It's obviously taking it out of her. She's very much needing cuddles at the moment and although she's started playing again its not for long.

She is however now very fab at sitting on her own Grin proud mum.

Hi All!!
Sorry I've not been checking in very much. Now I'm not at work in hardly ever in front of a computer and it's not. Very easy to read and post from my phone!!

It sounds like there is so much going on in everybody's lives at the moment. I'll no doubt forget people and so sorry in advance.

AC and Bebe - I hope that you are both ok and that the waiting isn't getting to you too much. It's so shitty that you are both still in limbo and is like to give big of your DHs a big slap.

AC- I hope that you can sort things out at work and that your diagnosis means that you can now get whatever help you need to cope with things. It must be really tough un MN hugs

Bebe- I hope that P is enjoying school and th drama lessons sound brilliant! She'll be a natural!

Quod - so exciting to be TTC and I'm keeping everything crossed that this is your month. Great to have a trip planned too. Very envious!!!

100- sorry to hear that your little one is still so poorly :(

Update from me:
I'm 37+4 today (I know, where did the time go?!?) and feeling fat and uncomfortable. I just want to stop being pregnant now and meet Mini!

Today I have to go to the hospital for a scan as the small person is transverse and has been for the entire time. I've tried spinning babies positions, Accupuncture, moxibustion and had chiropractic appointments but nothing has worked. They have to confirm the position before taking any further steps but it looks like I'm not going to be getting my planned home water birth after all. I'm not keen to go down the ECV route for various reasons so we'll be looking at a section.

Bit gutted but I have known that it would be a possibility for a while and so have had a chance to get used to the idea of an ELCS. Hopefully we should be given a date for surgery (and so a birth date for Mini) today.

Other than that I'm ok. The usual aches and pains and feel pretty 'meh' at times but think that once today is over I'll feel more positive and less grouchy!!

Sorry if I've missed anybody off, my brain isn't what it used to be!!

Quodlibet · 22/02/2012 12:06

SPR great to hear from you , good luck at the hospital today. Is transverse sideways? And what is ECV? Glad that you seem to be getting good care anyway, it's a shame you can't have your home water birth (not sure I knew you'd decided on a hb in the end) but I'm sure there'll be other positives to a planned section, if that's what baby has effectively decided. How exciting to know the definite date! Come back and let us know, won't you? It's gone SO fast!

Bebe thanks again for the opk sticks, they work! Grin it's great to have a clear idea of what's going on in there.

AC how are things at work?

100 is poor E any better?

100years · 22/02/2012 16:24

Hey SPR good to hear from you. I hope all is ok at the hosp appointment. Shame you have to have C section when you wanted a home birth, but at least you'll know when it's happening, won't have all the overdue stuff to worry about and all will be nice an controlled. And at the end of the day you will have your gorgeous little baby with you :) I wouldn't want an ECV myself either if I had been in that situation.

Quod I know you directed the question to SPR. Ecv is external cephalic version where they try and manipulate the baby into a head down position externally, they give you drugs the relax the uterus and use scans to check baby is safe while doing it, but it's obviously not without risk itself. And yes transverse is sideways. I think ecv can be quite uncomfortable and like I say I don't think I'd have had it done if I were in that situation.

Edith still has a bad tum. 2 big nappy incidents requiring change of clothes this morning and she's sleeping on me at the moment. I hope it clears soon.

OP posts:
bebejones · 22/02/2012 20:51

I was going to come and hunt you down!! Had my deerstalker & magnifing glass ready and everything!! :o

I wouldn't have opted for the ECV either, a friend of mine said it was like having a chinese burn on your belly!

Quod - glad you are getting some...erm.. use?.. out of them!! Wink

100 - Poor little E :( She really seems to have suffered with this horrid tummy bug, poor soul :(

I had an appointment with my MS nurse today. Was a complete waste of bloody time! Not seen him since Nov2010. He couldn't even remember me, repeated everything the Neurologist said to me last August. Got the whole 'hurry up & get pregnant before you get sick' line again (not put in those exact words!!). My bum barely had time to make the seat warm! Completely pointless! 30+mile round trip, an hours parking at the hospital, and 2 hours gone from my day! Dead ticked off about it. Next time I get one of these appointments come through, if I'm still 'well', I shall ring them up & talk to them over the phone rather than waste my time & theirs!

bebejones · 22/02/2012 20:52

Oh & SPR, don't forget to update us on when Mini will be arriving! Wink

ShaggingProducesResults · 22/02/2012 23:37

Very quick update. Mini is still transverse! No surprises there but what did surprise me was that they are admitting me on Saturday morning until the small person arrives (they won't section before 39 weeks so it's a minimum of a week)! This does not fill me with joy. Their wireless signal better be bloody good!!
X

strawberrypie · 23/02/2012 09:19

What reasons did they give SPR? X

ShaggingProducesResults · 23/02/2012 16:23

That they don't want the risk of me going into labour outside the hospital because of the risks associated with transverse babies. I understand that it's being done for the wellbeing of us both and it's good that they are looking after me. It's just not quite what I had planned!!

Quodlibet · 23/02/2012 17:14

Oh what a pain! Do you have things that need doing at home before you go in? Will you be up for visitors coming in to keep you entertained? Maybe you're going to need some excellent box sets? Have you seen The Wire? It's BRILLIANT, honestly, soooo good, and 5 seasons, fiendishly addictive (plus has a really reasonable selection of fit men in it, always a bonus). Sopranos, which we've only just got round to, is equally brilliant, (less fit blokes though).

On the bright side at least you know you won't have weeks of being overdue, uncomfortable and practically housebound anyway, which has happened to a couple of my friends. I do sympathise with you not being filled with joy though.

ShaggingProducesResults · 23/02/2012 20:01

DH has bought me the wire box set to keep me occupied!! The upside is that the wars is so hot and the food so bad that I'm bound to loose weight!!

I'm fine and so happy to have visitors (It will feel strange being in hospital but not unwell!!) but as I'm going to be in the postnatal ward they only allow 2 visitors at a time and visiting hours for non partners are 6:30-7:30pm!!

Think I'll be on here a lot if my laptop has good coverage!!

strawberrypie · 23/02/2012 20:04

Ah I see. Well you will have to stock up on books and magazines to keep you busy. It might actually be nice to be looked after and made to rest! Also with you having an elective c-section you can make plans eg skin to skin straight away and things I think? It will be great even if it's not how you might have initially have envisioned it xxx

strawberrypie · 23/02/2012 20:09

Forgot to say- don't even think about losing weight! You will need plenty of energy so get everyone to bring you lots of food! Another vote for the Wire here too - well done OH! (my personal favourite is Idris Elba who plays Stringer Bell!)
