I know this should be in Pets but indulge me for once.

What would you name a little GSD puppy (black and tan)?

Is Kaiser to chavvy/neddish?

Rover - if Ivy and Violet can come back into fashion, Rover can't be long behind them, surely?

munz · 03/12/2005 23:32

ours is called simba! he looked like a lion cub when we got him thou! lol. now he's sable in colour.

I wanted to call him Mac (after maccyd's but DH said no!)

TwoIfBySanta · 03/12/2005 23:32

Don't think DH would be too pleased with that though as we used to have a Rover car and the bl**dy thing was always breaking down!

Oisin (pronounced Ush-een) is always a good one! Not too many of them aroung in the UK so it'd be original.

Tan1959 · 03/12/2005 23:49

We used to have a white GSD and called him 'Levendi' Greek meaning 'hansome one' or something like that anyway !

dublindee · 04/12/2005 00:01

That's a lovely name!

lunachic · 04/12/2005 01:52

thor probably tacky i know but thunder was the first thing that came into my head and thor is the god of thunder .its late im off to bed ! we have two dogs nelson-patch on one eye and came from a place called nelson- so easy to name!- and his son fergus-cause his face is half black and half white my dp named him after a character in braveheart apparantly !

OhlittletownofEIDSVOLD · 04/12/2005 02:48

my db's blue heeler was called Max - as in mad max as the dog was a little hyper....

TroutSprout · 04/12/2005 10:52

dave

PantomimEDAMe · 04/12/2005 11:34

I wouldn't give a German Shepherd (that's GSD means?) an aggressive name like Kaiser. To answer your question, I do think it's a bit chavvy.

magnolianMistletoe · 04/12/2005 12:02

Why on earth is Kaiser aggressive??

Call him whatever you want, but of course something which will sound ok if you are screaming it at a dog thats run off

There was a lady at the park the other day calling 'Dave' really loudly and I though she had lost her sone!! Nope it was her dog

magnolianMistletoe · 04/12/2005 12:03

Actually she had lost her son!!

magnolianMistletoe · 04/12/2005 12:03

FFS!! She hadn't lost her son it was her dog but I was trying to correct my crappy typos

Kidstrack2 · 04/12/2005 12:11

Winston, Dylan, Kaz, Ben oh the list goes on, can you tell my mum used to keep dogs!

Pinotmum · 04/12/2005 12:28

My friend has just bought a choc brown labradour and called him Dave - LOL. My ds aged 3 yo kept calling him Boy though and it sounded sweet. If I had a dog I'd call it Cassius but don't ask me why?

magnolianMistletoe · 04/12/2005 12:35

pmsl!! Why such human names?? I find it really weird. Although its worse for boy dogs. Ours are girls and called Maisy and Jesse but then I wouldn't call a child either of those names

magnolianMistletoe · 04/12/2005 12:36

Of course anyone on here with a daughter called maisy or Jesse will now want to kick me

PantomimEDAMe · 04/12/2005 13:16

Kaiser is aggressive because it's the term for a German Emperor as in Kaiser Bill (Wilhelm) who was our enemy in WW1.

mazzystar · 04/12/2005 13:29

Sidney
Colin
Reg

you get the drift....

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 04/12/2005 13:29

Our Beagle is called Oliver (really liked the name at the time) but I really really wish we'd called him Smeagol (from LOR)

He always gets Oliver Smeagol or Smeagol Beagle.

Just love that name

shanks313 · 04/12/2005 14:10

We had a gsd/collie as our last dog and he was Bailey,it suited him perfectly

Rosefairy · 04/12/2005 14:20

Deefer, Max or oscar

Pinotmum · 04/12/2005 14:38

jenk1 · 04/12/2005 14:48
